This is my ex. He absolutely would not do anything to help around the house. He'd just get passive aggressive when things needed to be done. He would say things like, "I guess I'll have to wear dirty pants tomorrow to work." or "I hope I have clean shirts tomorrow for work." Like they're just things that intangibly happen with no input from him at all.
That's because his grandma did everything for him and waited on him hand and foot. By the time we split after nine years, I was so repulsed by him that the thought of sex with him made me want to vomit. Meanwhile, he's constantly scratching at me and barging in on me in the bathroom because he thinks if we just have sex it will fix how I feel about him.
Uhh, no motherfucker. I'm tired of cleaning up after you with no input and then having mediocre sex because you have the stamina of a fucking may fly.

Yes, exactly. Those statements were meant to guilt me into feeling like a bad wife instead of him actually stepping up and helping around the house. He'd outsource his 'chores' to the neighborhood kids and think he was so smart. He once bragged to me that he paid the neighborhood kid $15 to mow the tiny-ass little lawn we had. I called my brother out on this and I think he started to plot how he was going to murder me. He's not an incel, but he's pretty damn close. Lives with a woman 40 years older than him and doesn't pay rent, but 'helps to take care of things'.
He is the youngest and the only boy. My family is very much so geared towards the 'value' of men, despite the women all being significantly more intelligent and attractive (not that is matters). My mom coddled him so much. He was still sleeping in the same bed as her up until the age of 5. For no reason other than he was the baby boy.

We're in the same boat. I'm currently living with my parents as it's close to work(very close in fact, 100m!) A life saver as I work the night shift and it saves me long walks in the pitch darkness.
Honestly theres nothing wrong with living at home as long as you pull your weight and help out around the house. Plus congrats on saving the 30k, that's awesome!

I know this feeling, and I've had this experience. This is, in part, I think, what people mean when they say things like "men and women can't be friends." I don't think that's true, but I DO think it's really tricky to keep someone on a friend level when they are whatever gender it is you're attracted to, because of *course* we build all these feelings and bond throughout the growing friendship, and naturally think, "Oh, I love him!" And... maybe I DO love him, but not in a lifemate way, or I love him, but we're fundamentally incompatible on that level. But what do ya know, it's "too late" because I already love him, even though I know I'd be miserable living with him or I know I don't want to have children with him or I think "well shit what are the chances that I'll meet anyone else I like even THIS much?" Ugh, that last one is a killer!!
And we fall in love with potential and find ourselves in a relationship with someone who never quite existed.
It's tough. I hope you find some hope and strength with your sisters!
