A woman I am friendly with was just dumped the other day. Why? Well, she was locking up at work with a customer, and the customer slapped her ass. She was hesitant to go directly to her boss because a) customer was a big client for the business b) she's the only woman working at this place c) she gaslighted herself into thinking it wasn't that bad. In her boyfriends eyes, this meant that she was preparing to cheat on him with this man who slapped her ass (WITHOUT CONSENT), so he dumped her.

Yesterday I was a passenger in a friend's car. My friend needed something from the shop, parked up, I stayed in the car with the dog.

I was reading this sub on my phone and felt a looming shadow.

Looked up and there's a guy in his 60s, just staring at me. It took him a second to notice I was looking at him because he was fixated on my boobs. The second he saw me looking he just said "Sorry!" and RAN.

Apparently I should be grateful for this attention, according to men, because it means I have "options".

Like, options of which men rape me, or....???

Men are never going to understand the vulnerability of existing in this world with a vagina. I step outside and am immediately confronted with an obstacle course of dysfunctional men who would shove themselves in me if they could and are constantly testing the boundaries to see if they can get away with it. The leering, the catcalls, the gaslighting and time wasting... and those are only the mild things that can happen. It’s exhausting and it’s a constant interruption. Men don’t understand what it’s like to know your body is inherently vulnerable and there isn’t much in place to stop someone who wants to really hurt you. They can’t imagine carrying a burden like that everywhere they go.

First of all, Tim. Women are sex workers, toilet cleaners, home aides, nurses, cashiers, laundry maids (you go and be told to sMiLe and be NiCe 25hrs, 8 days a week). Out of the 25 lowest paid because unskilled service jobs in the U.S. 18 are performed by a woman in 2021.

Not to mention the millions of entirely unpaid therapistbangmaidnannymommies for their husbands who get to check the dad title and all sorts of financial and social status simply by existing and bringing in money (enough of entitled LVM expect their wives to pULL hEr wEiGht financially, on top).

Second of all, the MAIN reason women are reluctant to join blue collar labor jobs is because - SHOCKER - men told them for centuries that they are not "cut out" to do them, that they are too weak physically and mentally, AND they harass - sexually and non-sexually - the fuck out of any woman who dares to enter the holy fratboi circles of most mechanic garages, mining and construction sites, military bases or power plants.

My husband once asked me what it's like to be a woman. Just a casual question, one of those late-night pillow talk questions. I thought about it for a second and said,

"Being a woman is the awareness that everywhere I go, I'm in danger. And there's nothing I can do about it. The man standing behind me in line at the grocery store could snap my neck right there, and there's nothing I could do about it. When I walk down the street, a man could pull over and snatch me into the car, and there's nothing I could do about it. I'm a prey animal. It's like living my entire life in a tiger cage, and I'm wearing a meat suit."

And I'm not a particularly small, weak, or unfit woman. I'm average in every way - height, weight, physical fitness. And I have no shot in a physical fight against all but the smallest, weakest, least fit men.

Exactly and they for the most part don’t have to deal with creepy stares. They really don’t understand how their lives are easier, a man can go shirtless and nobody will do anything but if a woman shows a bit of skin the creepiness starts rolling in.

Men literally complain on the dating subs that women get upset when they cold approach them in public. Trying to explain to them why women are afraid and uncomfortable results in being called a man hater. My brother was driving us home from the grocery store the other day, and he told me that sometimes he thinks about honking at pedestrians to scare them a little bit. So a minute later, as we’re going down the road, there was this woman who was out for a run. I had to tell him, “DO NOT honk at her. You can’t honk at random woman pedestrians. She will definitely be afraid that you’ll yell obscenities out the window at her, or be afraid that you’re going to follow her home to murder her”.

IDK why this makes me think of my male friend that used to work with me.

I said something about being afraid of traveling because of trafficking and he's like "Oh yeah, you're a woman so you have to think about that." and I said something about his male privilege and he cheerfully said "I like my privilege!"

Kinda don't know how to feel about him after that....
