I’m just blown away by the sheer entitlement... he wants someone to ‘knock his socks off’ consistently for the duration of a relationship? Chances are he’s done nothing of the sort for her. Plus, he knew she was dealing with personal issues, and still has no problem expecting this woman to sweep him off his feet. And even if she can’t, he has no issue using her while looking for something better. Ugh! Glad she found out early, but sad that she seems to be blaming herself.

A long term partnership is incompatible with infatuation. If you have wild chemistry with someone right off the bat, it doesn’t actually mean they’re good for you. Every time I’ve dated someone where there’s fireworks in the beginning it ends up blowing up in my face a few months later. Yet another reason it’s essential to vet ruthlessly for the first few months (and after, but especially the first few months).

I hope she doesn't feel bad about him for long. I know it's weird when you know someone's an awful person but everyone seems to love him, but that's just because you've outlived your usefulness to him and in turn he showed who he really is. He won't do that to regular friends/women he hasn't slept with yet/coworkers etc because there would be actual consequences for him.

Remember how the power imbalance in heterosexual dating is extremely skewed towards men.

When dating someone doesn’t result in commitment as long as a man walks away having had sex then emotionally he is usually unscathed. Maybe the only he will have lost is his time and money. Incomparable when it comes to the emotional pain and sometimes trauma when for the woman if she’s had sex with him.

And considering how many times a man will push for it if not often enough try to coerce (which is a form of sexual assault) a woman into it and give off the pretense of wanting a relationship the woman leaves feeling disgusted and violated.

Men can walk away from dating ok since the number one thing they have on the line is sex, while a woman commitment. Sex vs commitment... men by default have more power.

Not to mention how a woman can get raped or physically abused.

Another reason why 50/50 is bs. Going 50/50 shows a man does not understand this dynamic or does not care.

This is why I always stick to the idea that women should not sleep with a man unless they’re official. Unfortunately there’s too many men out there who think that if you sleep with them before you’re exclusive that you’re not relationship material. It’s so fucked up, I’ll never understand this mentality. Someone’s hot enough for you to sleep with, but if they do it too soon, they’re suddenly not dateable?

Imagine being that desperate for sex that you’d lie to someone that you want a relationship and then you pump and dump after that. I wish more women would hold out for sex longer so that these kinda of men couldn’t pull shit like this. Eventually they’d get tired of waiting and would leave so you’d know who really wants to date you and who only wants sex.
