I also hate the manipulation. The very first thing he says is that there’s ‘no need to make things difficult’ heavily implying that asking for a proper date is something bad. Every pickmeisha that he encounters is programmed to keep the peace and will unconsciously try to please him.

A lot of big and vague words and no getting to the point, seems like he’s the one making it ‘difficult’.
