Men can be very cruel even long into a relationship. One time my ex-boyfriend came to my house for a week. I treat him to beautiful meals, constant sex, anything he wants. But I had an event that weekend. He knew about it, but he decided to come crash anyway, probably expected me to cancel, but it was my exam for getting a certification to be a volunteer first responder, after months of classes, so I couldn't just say fuck it to my instructor. I go, and while I'm out of the house, I run back home, as I did after every class. I guess he somehow picked up that I'd been running and he decided to get revenge? We take a shower naked, he looks at my leg, makes sad/worried/frustrated/disgusted face, says "why do you have so much muscle definition, you're running too much, your legs are gonna get bigger than mine", and he makes an indignant protesting grunt. The entire relationship was like this. He was always being a little shit, making grunts and protests, complaining because I did stuff on my own. No up side. And God knows it wasn't a two way street. I never made little b-tchy comments like that to him.

That's a great strategy!

I lift, and LVM's reactions could indeed be a good indicator. For example, if somebody's reaction to my gym enthusiasm is something like "Just don't get too bulky", "You shouldn't, men don't like muscular women", "I don't think lifting is for women/maybe you should stick to cardio", or "oh really? It doesn't look like it" then it's a 🚩.

Also, men who make comments about women only training their butt or are making it sexual are a red flag.

Edit: Forgot to mention the men who turn it into a competition (e.g "How much can you deadlift? Oh, only that? I can do X"). It seems like especially in sports many LVM's try to make it clear that they're better at it than you are, whether it means they're stronger, faster or whatever.

I have very classic “feminine” hobbies. baking, poetry, meditation, fashion, almost every guy will poke fun at me because of it. it’s literally pathetic

Some men will have three grillages for different kinds of meat but won't accept that a woman with an almost similar hobby like baking will have three different forms of muffin tins.
Especially when the hobby is considered feminine, like drawing, sewing, knitting, horseback riding... Nevertheless, I have seen very conservative and antifeminist men showing appreciation for these feminine needleworks because they value a homemaker, so watch out.

I'm a weight lifter. Any man who jumps to one of us beating the other up is an immediate no. You'd be surprised how many of them jump from "woman lifts weights" to projecting violence.

My biggest hobby is gaming. I love to talk about it, and it’s such a telling conversation to have with men.

They only play super competitive games like League or Call of Duty? Probably have anger issues.

They only play massive time dump games like Word of Warcraft? Or money pit games like Magic? Probably don’t have a life.

They neg me about my skill level, the type of games I enjoy, or are in disbelief that I’ve been gaming my whole life? Nope, next.

I love running.

Once I went for a run with someone I dated briefly. We started running and he left me behind, practically sprinting away from me. I got a major ick, deleted and blocked him right afterwards.

I started as a classically trained ballerina 20 years ago. Now I'm a dance teacher and I love social dancing (salsa, bachata, merengue, lindyhop, etc etc) so I can definitely carry a beat and find the rhythm.

The moment a guy accuses me of back leading when I'm actually just staying on beat, ZINGER I would never date them lol. Find the beat, fool! Don't use me as your scapegoat for bad rhythm.

Also if he’s always criticizing your workouts like what you do is never good enough. Had one guy do this while I was recovering from an injury and following the directions of my physical therapist, but ofc gym bro dude thought he knew better.
