The last tweet is enlightening. She doesn't want someone emotional, but she wants someone who can deal with her being hysterical.

[–][deleted] 148 points149 points150 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Being with someone that is hysterical is worse, even a tiny thing could be a declaration of war.

[–]Dark_Knight2000 60 points61 points62 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I can’t believe she would self own herself like that. Like I was about to give her the benefit of the doubt until the last two tweets, as she was talking about herself and not bringing all women into it.

Then she just had to bring up biology and excuse her hysteria for female biology. Don’t put the burden of being sensible on a male partner simply because you’re a woman.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Exactly, her biology isn’t an excuse to control how a man should feel, i had a relative who was like that, controlling how men should feel because "she said so",

I eventually called her out on that bs, saying she should be grateful to have a boyfriend, despite her horrible attitude towards others.

[–]mernie925 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Biology is never an excuse. Humans are hard wired biologically to procreate, doesn't mean that justifies banging your sister. Being female is no more a justification for being hysterical then being male is a justification for being aggressive.

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So much this. Either all are justified, or none should be.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed.

[–]ThrowawayGhostGuy1 78 points79 points80 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

She’s the epitome of “if you can’t handle me at my worst…”

[–]ZS_1171 47 points48 points49 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

...you don't deserve me at my best". Anyone with that mindset isn't worth dating.

[–]MyBlades 32 points33 points34 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

At her worst she slashes your tires, gives you a black eye and trashes your apartment, at her best she orders pizza and watches Netflix with you.

[–]FucKtRump1974 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And then blames you for all of it

[–]officerfriendlyrick7 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s actually quite funny how universal women’s behaviour is, I resonate with what you said from a completely different culture lol

[–]ZS_1171 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

👆

[–]mcavvacm 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

What kinda pizza though?

[–]MyBlades 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

One with toppings you don't like, because even at her best she kinda sucks.

[–]mcavvacm 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Time to move on then, tsk tsk, everyone knows pizza Hawaii is the only true pizza.

[–]ZS_1171 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably

[–]gprime9 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

That mindset would be fine, assuming that person's best was actually worthwhile and their worst was reasonable. But of course that never the case with the sort of woman who posts that to their social media. They use that trite line as a mechanism to excuse behavior that is, or at least should be, multiple standard deviations from the mean, believing themselves to be sufficiently valuable (also never the case) to make their wildly inappropriate behavior something others should uncritically accept.

[–]Fast_Box_8509 35 points36 points37 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

"Here's a list of specific external criteria that must be met if you are to display any degree of emotion outside of the socially acceptable range of confident, boisterous happiness and controlled anger. Meanwhile I am entitled to overreact to the gamut of emotions."

I take solace in knowing that women who don't learn to get this shit under control before their beauty fades are almost guaranteed to be very lonely and bitter for the rest of their lives.

[–]codemancode 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The vengeance is great and all, but don't forget: Those lonely bitter ones are the vocal minority that are getting these toxic policies written, and toxic attitudes normalized.

[–]Fast_Box_8509 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

More so schadenfreude than vengeance because she'll be long forgotten by the time the ugly consequences of her revolting personality manifest.

But yeah, you're right. Part of the fight is encouraging good women to continue being good, while allowing space for the ones who act out to run headlong into the consequences of their own terrible decisions.

Part of that "allowing space" is encouraging men not to simp and give shitty women outs.

[–]magx01 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They also vote in droves....

[–]officerfriendlyrick7 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And that’s how Karens are born gentlemen, now we know what demographics Karens are. They are women like this who grow old and lose their authority which they got from their youthfulness and beauty.

[–]Theunbeatable09 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well let's just say she's biologically wired to be bitter and lonely

[–]vague_obscenity 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Because if you can't handle me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best!!! Wahhhhhhh!!! I hate you!!! I love you! Don't leave me! I have PTSD!" 🤪

Women like Evelyn are emotionally immature and want father figures, not boyfriends. Men are complex beings, I make no apologies for my emotions or my tears. I don't exist to be an emotional punching bag for women.

[–]JasHanz 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is what they mean when they say they want a sensitive Man.

[–]flowingwisdom13 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A tool basically. And since when they cry it mostly is to gather attention, in other words it means they want you to focus all your attention on them and not on your problems. So nothing but a utility

[–]Odd-Box-3578 273 points274 points275 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

“Seeing a man cry does turn me off” Are you supposed to be aroused when someone cries?

[–]Shay561 104 points105 points106 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It’s her kink.

[–]Odd-Box-3578 68 points69 points70 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That makes the most sense cuz I’ve never heard anyone say “Your crying is really making me soft rn”

[–]Man_of_culture_112 27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good point tho. Are you always supposed to be turned on by your partner?

[–]magx01 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Meaning she finds them gross and wants to leave them.

[–]Nitr0Sage 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When I see a woman or child cry I get “aroused” in the sense of wanting to comfort them, not a sexual way. I don’t get it with men but I still help them because I ain’t an asshole

[–]ALiteralSentientTank 134 points135 points136 points 4 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

It's ok for men to cry.

Now let me explain when it's ok and not ok for men to cry.

[–][deleted] 45 points46 points47 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

If they didn’t had a similar experience with the titanic, according to her..

[–]TheClinicallyInsane 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I know it's all memes and stuff but like...who seriously cries for the Titanic? I've cried for loads of movies and shows and anime but fucking The Titanic???

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You mentioned anime, like the Going Merry from One Piece?

[–]TheClinicallyInsane 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Lol I've not watched one piece, just cuz it's so long and daunting (heh) but there's a few films that get me every time. Like "A Silent Voice", great movie!

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I understand, i might gives a try to that movie.

When i was talking about the Titanic, i meant the real historical event, not the movie from James Cameron, and not like those weird animated movies with talking animals, magical tears and stuffs.

[–]GrinningPizza 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fun fact: men were forced to stay off the lifeboats because being saved was ‘unmanly’. Here’s a famous quote from one of the officers who prevented plenty of lives from being saved simply for being male: ‘Take another step and all shoot you all like dogs.’

[–]Shadowdragon409 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think she meant being involved in some experience that could be compared to being on the Titanic.

[–]TheClinicallyInsane 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

OHHH now it makes sense, duh, thanks man lol

[–]ProfitHour4768 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

*have?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

English isn’t my first language, bare with me.

[–]ProfitHour4768 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No worries :)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thank you for your comprehension, it’s rare^

[–]Fast_Box_8509 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"It's OK for men to cry (under specific circumstances, when alone and very far away from me so I don't have to deal with it)."

Wahmen are so empathetic and compassionate.

[–]GrinningPizza 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The most empathetic caring people I’ve met are men.

[–]FucKtRump1974 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

When is it not okay for anyone to cry?...

[–]ALiteralSentientTank 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

When Hitler died. Don't cry for that.

[–]FucKtRump1974 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well duh

[–]ALiteralSentientTank 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You asked. Lol

[–]dummyheadweeb 29 points30 points31 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"Why do men never reveal their feelings?"

[–]upsidedownbackwards 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ask my friend who tried marriage counseling for a year. He'll tell you it's because when you do open up it just gets thrown right in your face next time she's mad.

[–]Altkog 101 points102 points103 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

She got ratio'd at least, I suppose. Still makes a relationship seem not worth it.

[–]TendieDinner777 49 points50 points51 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

For every one that actually says it out loud…you know more are thinking it.

[–][deleted] 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I mean I agree... she got ratioed, I'm not on Twitter so I can't see any of the replies.

But at the same time it's safe to assume her point of view, despite being qualified as completely her own, is not uncommon.

[–]myevillaugh 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What is ratio'd?

[–]Altkog 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When there's more replies than likes basically

[+]WolfIsntDead -29 points-28 points-27 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Lmfao y'all really out here worried about internet points. "Ratio'd" - I'm fucking deceased

[–]Altkog 26 points27 points28 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

All it is is a way of telling how many people disliked a tweet since there's no dislike button or counter.

[–]codemancode 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sounds like a win win to me.

[+]WolfIsntDead -19 points-18 points-17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Get better ears

[–]ThePiachu 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"women are biologically wired to cry more than men" - imagine a guy saying that, how some people would get indignant at the statement...

[–]Sperm40mmSprintChamp 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

See, the biology excuse only works for women. This is why they shame 17 year old boys for being horney, you can't use biology to explain it, you must shame it. It's always men bad, women good. Even with biology apparently

[–]Interesting-Eye-5464 39 points40 points41 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Conclusion: Men, do what is right for you, and don’t do it to please women. You’ll never win if you do.

[–]East-Tailor-3470 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Simps ko nahi samajh aayegi ye baat

[–]No_Fap_is_My_Life 79 points80 points81 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Ahhh bruhhhh as soon as you include "biology" in your tweets, the moment you destroy your very own movement

Feminism is growing out of traditional system right ? Then why only women are entitled to it, but a crying man is still seen as weak ? Isn't that pushing traditional and so called "Patriarchy" by the Feminists themselves ?

That's what they do, they take equal rights and opportunities only which favours Women, not vice versa... They don't want equal responsibilities either... But be so called "empowered queens" but still want a rock hard man

And then they don't even wanna see why the suicides rates of men are so much higher than women (76%)

[–]Machomuk89 26 points27 points28 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly!!! The same women who claim its a Man's job to do X, in no way can meet the expectations of a traditional woman.

I in no way expect my partner to be some cooped up submissive housewife but yet every woman I've been with expects me to be the picture of traditional masculinity. It's maddening!

[–]Fast_Box_8509 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Then why only women are entitled to it, but a crying man is still seen as weak ? Isn't that pushing traditional and so called "Patriarchy" by the Feminists themselves ?

Feminists only hate the parts of the patriarchy that don't benefit them. That's why some of the most brazen bitchy killjoy marxist bluehairs will still date bikers and aggressive dudes

That's what they do, they take equal rights and opportunities only which favours Women, not vice versa...

They want to set the rules, not play by them. Also why they hate men's movements, because men's movements are amply aware of how dirty the feminist game is, and they feel threatened by knowing men have that knowledge in these communities.

[–]East-Tailor-3470 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The day Feminist will be treated equally. That day they will once again go back to the traditional roles themselves.Older women who were tricked into these radical ideology are opening up

Recent example #metoo movement what happened to that suddenly everything became alright NOPE.Companies started treating them equally.Men limited their contact with women ,They made sure that they don't go on office dates with them or even lunch with them and followed Mike Pence Rule .As a result #Metoo stopped. Now they know the consequences of their actions.Feminism can be stopped in 10 days if man wants but it can't happen in democracy it can happen in dictatorship. For example Iran a country which had 12 minister women during 60's now follows a rule which has no rights for Women . Similarly Afghanistan ,Russia ,China , Belarus and other countries . With COVID democratic countries have become more dictators like you see in Australia, Newzealand

[–]alexmijowastaken 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why do you think she's feminist?

[–]LordStark_01 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Bhai aap idhar? <3

[–]Ghost_Mint -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Omega agree, the biology argument is just something used by people that can't understand that just because there are original reasons why a social construct came into place, these reasons don't justify why it should still hold up today.

[–]vwatchrepair 25 points26 points27 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Flip the sexes in all her posts and read it all over again. 🤔

[–]TheClinicallyInsane 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Allow me to present just the first fucking line...

"while I don't want women to completely avoid it, seeing a woman cry does turn me off"

Now, if you don't want to absolutely sucker punch the man (flipped sex from girl in post) who said that then idk. But like, anyone saying shit like that doesn't understand that crying isn't supposed to get your fuckin dick hard or in this case get your pussy wet...WTF!!!

[–]vwatchrepair 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I read them all on my head flipped. Funny how flipped or not, they both sound bad and make you sick. But the so-called "woke" only seem to be bothered by it done one way. 🤔

[–]upsidedownbackwards 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But if you don't want to date them because the relationship wouldn't be equal you are dangerous.

I'm not going to date a sexist. Hard stop. Guess that makes me dangerous.

[–]auMatech 51 points52 points53 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

loss (financial, etc.)

Thanks for spelling it out I guess, whoever now plans to get involved with her has black and white proof of what they're getting themselves into

[–]bottleblank[🍰] 44 points45 points46 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Here's an insider secret, consider it a freebie: women aren't exactly a trouser twitcher when they're crying either, but we don't make a prerequisite that women aren't allowed to show any emotion (except when we say so) before we go out with them.

Whatever happened to "if you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best", eh?

[–]TheClinicallyInsane 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't know what's happened to me but like I give zero fucks about a woman crying. I don't think it's a bad thing, I care when it's someone I'm close to, but like no one else.

Alternatively though I'm MORE likely to cry when another man is crying. Especially an older guy. I think it's some kind of sympathetic response to knowing he's been holding it in.

[–]damn_montana 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

the parents probably didn’t know how getting pregnant worked

[–]Mother-Key582 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She should’ve just dripped down daddy’s leg but sadly, she didn’t.

[–]Sniek207 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It is interesting, that she says there are evolutionary (biological) reasons for women to be appalled by men crying, and no social reasons, so she doesent have to change her own actions.

Yet everything they cry about such as "mansplaining" is only the consequence of socialisation and so that justifies blaming men for doing it.

Womens bad behavior = Biological, they dont have to change shit

Mens bad behavior = socially, they have to change

nice double standard

[–]Fast_Box_8509 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There were evolutionary reasons for bashing other people's heads in with rocks and doing a whole gamut of atrocious things to other people that are punished as crimes now. You don't see anyone doing any of that shit anymore without consequences.

[–]ABeeBox 23 points24 points25 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You'll eat when I'll say you eat.

You'll shit when I'll say you shit.

And You'll cry when I'll say you cry.

You got that you maggot dick motherfucker?!

[–]ZayFrames 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’d be really nice if modern women would tell us exactly what they wanted instead of beating around the bush and expecting us to read their minds.

[–]OpinionatedDad 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Let me be clear. If anyone is crying to much, it will be a turn AWAY not turn off for any human being. It's the exact same if you had ideals that do not match. If you are in a committed relationship you should be able to open up to a partner. However if you're in the early stages of a relationship there's nothing wrong with crying but just be aware that it might turn that partner away. Everyone has their own s*** to deal with they don't want to add more baggage.

So again to be clear it's not a turn off rather it's a turn away. No one gets aroused by people crying. And there's nothing wrong with crying. But a line needs to be drawn. It's okay to cry but there's always a time and place

[–]Shadowdragon409 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Agree with everything you said. However, some people do get turned on by crying. Not the distress, but the idea that there is a lot of emotion on display. It's called dacryphilia

[–]OpinionatedDad 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good point. But I do think that's the minority.

[–]shrickertt 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

the simple thing to do? don't open up to them AT ALL. even if it means being called “toxically masculine”. they just use your emotions against you, either by weaponizing sex or attraction. talk to your family, your friends, but always protect yourself from people like this.

the mandem always have other places to turn, unless you have no family or friends.

even if it means being called “toxically masculine”. they just use your emotions against you,

The only emotion these types women should be getting from you, or I , or anyone else with their head on straight is contempt and occasionally the kind of explosive anger (raising your voice, without warning) that is so effective at scaring them and shutting them up.

Caveat: Not advocating for threatening behavior or violence - the power of a well timed "shut the fuck up" in a deeper, louder voice works wonders on these types of women, as I presume they grew up with a father who did the same or worse a lot, given how they turned out.

[–]shrickertt 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

i agree with you lad.

i've done the same thing with someone who was relatively manipulative in the way the woman in the post above is. it worked, especially when she would have random changes in her attitude and started acting like a complete brat for attention. it puts a smile on my face seeing other men with a good conscience/aware of how to deal with people like that. i guess we aren't dying out after all! :)))

[–]Fast_Box_8509 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a fine balance. I've only had to do it a few times, but since I'm a quiet guy and like to avoid conflict, the sudden sternness had extra effect.

It's a bit like the timing a particular fictional character uses here, when the rest of his bannermen are pushing his buttons and not showing respect.

It doesn't even necessarily need to be something obscene. In my case, it's usually something to the effect of: "Cut the crap!"

[–]FucKtRump1974 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That is the most insensitive, just horrible thing, to make fun of someone even your boyfriend who's opening up about something traumatic, and making himself cry because he has no one else to talk to about it. Ma'am I'd hate to say this but you're fucked up individual

[–]n311y_3 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I completely agree. It's a very sick & inhumane thing to do to someone you're supposed to love. No one should agree with that type of thinking.

[–]Extra-Strike2276 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

At least she's being honest. To many say things like men should be emotional more, while they secretly look down on you for it. I think most women look down on emotional men and that's not anything that will change anything soon. I get more bothered by the push to make men more emotionally outspoken. While I'm plenty emotional, I also control what the world sees. It's the complete lie that men aren't emotional, that's the problem.

[–]friendlysouptrainer 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To be honest I have a lot of respect for someone willing to be straightforward like that. She can't choose how she feels, so it's better that she's upfront about it than try to hide it. She's not trying to mock or belittle others, she's just being honest about her own human selfishness. It's so much easier to deal with people like that than people who play mind games.

I'm sorry, I'm a guy but I kinda agree with her that evolutionary women will be less attracted to crying(weaker) men.

Doesn't mean it's right but what I'm trying to say and point out is that women's brains are wired to be less attracted to males they perceive as weaker. Crying is generally linked to that, also evolutionarily.

What annoys me is that most people, women more so than men, can't and won't admit that.

However if you want equality then get the fuck over it and learn to control your impulses and instincts and make rational decisions instead of whatever you feel like at the moment. Even more so stop claiming nonsense things and that you don't want men to be this or that, pushy or whatever. Especially don't leave your partner should they cry at some point, because expect to be treated the way you treat others, that's what annoys me the most the inconsistency and hypocrisy.

[–]BannedAccountNumber5 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You know what, I can actually appreciate this.

I appreciate the honesty this lady is showing about herself. I would much rather live in a world where people tell us they don't want their partners to open up to them, then live in a world where people lie to our faces, and we find out the hard way.

It also save a lot of time when dating. You don't wanna deal with me when I'm crying? Thank you. Next!

She’s merely being honest and saying what men already know from experience. Showing vulnerable emotions is conditional and risky. We do not automatically get support or expect to be supported like women. We may find comfort or judgement. It is a little like Russian roulette when we show emotions.

I'm gonna be honest, I don't know her history but I see no issue with these statements.

In the face of such things as high male suicides and misandry, it's easy to see how detached her statements appear, but without context I'm forced to assume this is just a woman on twitter pondering her romantic/sexual preferences and their possible connection to human evolution.

But given that we're in the age of men needing a spa-day after all the shit we've been through, she's basically a Wgtow.

[–]Onegodoneloveoneway 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree with her completely. It's really quite okay to not be attracted to men who cry too easily, and there is probably an evolutionary reason behind it. [–]boringcarpets 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Do people think this mindset is rare or uncommon? It's pretty much the standard.

Don't think because some women say nice flowery things sometimes that it's true - hard pill to swallow for many here; but the idea to "cry more", that you'll be supported, or that you'll be regarded any better if you do is patently false. Borne from plenty of experience of men in this sub and out.

[–]AdamChap 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah they like the biological arguments when it suits don't they...

Can't wait for a boyfriend of hers to think to himself "women are biologically speaking, far more prone to neuroticism... better just ignore her bullshit"

A true LVM will put up with an emotional wreck like this for a crumb of pussy, which is probably where she's been finding men who cry so much it turns her off. I cry at sad things, but I shed a tear I don't break down screeching. No women I have been with has been bothered by this, probably because they cry my orders of magnitude more.

She wants a level headed man, and I get that but there is no way a man shedding tears is somehow relevant to whether or not he can make decisions.

Finally, she thinks women are wired to cry more? She must surely see then that her crying is irrelevant, and a man comforting her is essentially a waste of time and yet another thing we are expected to do with absolutely nothing in return (they usually think 'access to their body' is enough... :/ )?

[–]lostcymbrogi 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sexual attractiveness is so subjective. Bashing her for her clear lack of logic is fairly useless. I'm not defending her position, but I do appreciate the innate honesty in it.

As a man I might say something like, "A woman with a twinkie fetish isn't attractive. I don't care how 'sexy' you eat your 82 twinkies a day, it just doesn't look great. It looks even worse when you add in the fact your are gaining about 5 pounds weekly and have gained over 50 pounds in the last year!"

Such a statement might be viewed as sexist by some. They might say that I only valued a woman for her physical attributes. There is nothing in that statement to indicate that I don't also value her other attributes, but it does indicate that her physical state may have some effect on her sexual attractiveness to me. It equally expresses concern for her health.

Pretending that men and women aren't sexuallly turned on or off by very specific, if subjective, things is to deny the reality of our humanity. I am happily married. Is my wife the most beautiful woman in the world? Objectively perhaps not. She is quite beautiful, but she isn't a supermodel or anything. I have found things that turn her on and do them. She returns the favor. We have to live with the other sex. This means adapting to each others particular quirks.

The problem is that men aren’t afforded the same latitude when it comes to expressing our preference, without being raked over the coals for it.

Women will swear up and down that we have the right to express ourselves by merely being able to speak it, but when women are criticized for expressing their preferences, their right to speak supposedly should extent to not being criticized.

[–]TrilIias 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, she's talking specifically about crying, not just expressing our preferences. I don't think men and women should have to be held to the same standards when it comes to crying, we physically cannot cry as easily as women, and there's a biological mechanism that makes most straight women find masculine men attractive.

[–]TendieDinner777 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

She is expecting everyone to accept her expression that she doesn’t like men who cry outside of specific circumstances.

When men express what they don’t like about women, they are told by women like this that they are shaming women who don’t conform to their preferences.

[–]TrilIias 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

She didn't even say she didn't like men who cry outside of specific circumstances, she said she isn't attracted to them. And yeah, some women complain whenever men say what they find unattractive about women, but unless this woman in the post has done that, then she isn't creating any double standards.

[–]TendieDinner777 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Doesn’t like and isn’t attracted to are both negative assessments, which was the point.

I would be shocked if she’s the one consistent woman who doesn’t mind criticism of women.

[–]TrilIias 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I don't find women attractive, but I certainly don't dislike women. Both are negative assessments, sure, but they aren't synonymous.

I wouldn't be shocked. Most feminist types who screech about anyone ever saying something remotely negative about women tend to lack the honesty required to admit that women's preferences are at least partly responsible for the stigma surrounding men expressing their emotions. They tend to insist that it's just men's fault and that it's "toxic masculinity," which this woman did not do,

I also don’t think you should be crying when you injure yourself. What is the fucking point in that?

[–]Fast_Box_8509 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed.

We're not going to reach a point, anytime soon, where it's socially acceptable for men to openly display vulnerability.

Like it or not, she's to an extent correct, and is a case study of what little tolerance women have for it.

I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing, but at least she's not trying to hide how bereft of empathy she is and what little she gives a shit about men's suffering.

[–]JackAttack_77 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, neither do I.

I truly feel it, as her last post said, is predominately an evolutionary thing. If a man is crying constantly, it’d be a put off. There are warranted times to express lots of emotion - other times there isn’t. Unfortunate you were downvoted.

Notice how all of these put the woman at the center of the universe, the one who decides when it is moral or ordered to cry?

This is actually secularism showing itself.

It pushes subjective reality, and ignores objective truth and objective reality. It creates narcissists who only love with conditions. It destroys true and unconditional love.

Most people dont know the differences. They have never loved another for the sake of the other.

Of course this doesnt just apply exclusively to women, but this moral system drives secularism (power over truth) and all the progressive ideologues that exist today.

To escape, become a man of God. Learn philosophy, learn truth, learn to spot ideology.

This is what we in the science world call a hypocritical and entitled cunt.

She's not being cruel, she's being factual. You're being a bitch.

[–]__pebble____ 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Promoting the idea that men shouldn’t be emotional is cruel.

[+]TrilIias -8 points-7 points-6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

She didn't say men shouldn't be emotional, she was talking about crying, a specific way of expressing emotions. People can't help their emotions, they can help how they express them, and there are acceptable, health, attractive, unacceptable, unhealthy, and unattractive ways of expressing emotions.

[–]__pebble____ 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

When you hear somebody say somebody else is being emotional, you would assume that crying is involved, correct? Nothing you said changes my statement.

[–]TrilIias -5 points-4 points-3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, I wouldn't actually. It may just involve hysteria or anger, but also, I know I've felt strong emotions internally while still not making those emotions very visible to other people, whether by intention or not. Men are more likely to do that. Adults are also more likely to do that. What you experience is not the same as what you communicate.

[+]ThaneWestbrook -7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Fuck you. Do something big in your life for once. Have balls.

[–]__pebble____ 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Says the Reddit troll

[–]ThaneWestbrook -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Imagine getting bested by a literal internet troll lmao

These are my actual opinions btw

[–]__pebble____ 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You’re basing your whole argument off of insults and the idea that men shouldn’t be emotional. You haven’t “bested” anyone. You’re just making yourself look foolish.

[–]ThaneWestbrook 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If I look foolish in front of an affeminate for being who I am then so be it

[–]ThatOneCrusader1 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Well last time I checked op isn't a female dog. Now that woman on the other hand.

[+]ThaneWestbrook -10 points-9 points-8 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What? You're gonna cuss out a woman for having preferences?

[–]ThatOneCrusader1 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Not wanting to date a fat chick is a preference. Saying men shouldn't cry cause it's a turn off is NOT a preference.

[+]ThaneWestbrook -6 points-5 points-4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes it is buddy. You don't get to cherrypick.

[–]PM_ME_UR_SHITS_GIRL 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The comparison works, idk why these bitter betties are downvoting you. I don't want to fuck fat chicks, chicks don't want a guy who cries a lot like a pussy. 'Emotional' is as valid a criteria for disqualification as 'obese'.

[–]ThaneWestbrook 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Pretty much. Can't be free if you don't have choices.

[–]Emet22 -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sounds reasonable to me

[–]Fictionarious -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where's the 'cruelty', though? This is all true and reasonably expressed. Had to downvote for the stupid title.

[–]Harry-Timbercrank -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don’t cry, but I do not tolerate women crying either. It’s manipulative, and it’s emotional blackmail.

[–]LiquidDreamtime -5 points-4 points-3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Is the Bing-Bong Scene from Inside Out an acceptable cry scenario?

[–]WitchCraft_Tea -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

women arent SuPpOsEd to cry more than men. thats a sterotype thats just plain rude to everyone

[–]Inguzrdt -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I mean I honestly think she's spot on here. I don't always like it but reality is sexist by modern standards and I also tell women about how men have better spatial reasoning (reverse parking, chess etc) and a lot of them don't like to hear it.

A woman's desire to have a strong man that she can lean on might seem selfish but ultimately it's about our role within the child rearing process.

[–]n311y_-12 points 4 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

She's no feminist. She's encouraging toxic societal beliefs that define masculinity. I hate this. Men & boys shouldn't be shamed for crying or showing emotion. This is why so many men have undiagnosed depression.

[–]TrilIias 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

She's not the reason. Most men can handle a little responsibility and can easily express their emotions in a mature and attractive way, and would gladly do so to appeal to a romantic partner. The trouble comes when women start gaslighting men and insisting that men aren't composing themselves in a certain way to appeal to women, and that they are just selfishly indulging in "ToXiC mAsCuLiNiTy" and that only men are to blame. The woman in this post isn't doing that, she's being honest about what she finds attractive, which she has no control over. I only wish feminists were more like her.

[–]n311y_-3 points 4 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

So it's ok to discourage men from expressing emotions other than anger or happiness?

[–]TrilIias 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well she wasn't really doing that, she was just talking about what she finds attractive, and men have the option of e=trying to cater to what she is attracted to if they so choose. I don't see the issue. Also, as I just suggested to someone else, men are more likely to feel emotions without communicating them to others, and adults are also more likely to do just that. We expect a certain degree of emotional maturity of adults. We expect them not to simply vomit their every fleeting feeling onto others, and we expect this to a somewhat greater degree from men.

Maybe I'm not totally in agreement with other MRAs on this one point, but I'm fine with expecting a little more of men, provided we don't repay men for their troubles by branding them oppressive villains who need to be knocked down a few pegs. We need people in our society who can step up and do the heavy lifting in certain areas, and men are the best suited to do that. I guess that's why most of my interest in men's rights is centered on anti-feminism.

[–]n311y_1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

What does emotional maturity mean to you? Do you have different standards according to gender?

It's perfectly normal to have certain physical or personality preferences, but emotions aren't a personality trait. With the exception of people on the ASPD spectrum, it would be similar as to having a preference for people without organs. Emotions are part of being a human.

"biologically wired to cry more than men" what? We had some relatives over and their max 12 month old baby boy cried constantly.

Its that men are tought to not cry

[–]PolyAndPolygons 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Once men stop putting pussy on a pedestal, women will lose their foothold on things. Even on a small level, not chasing women when they are around will make their head spin especially I’d they find you attractive

[–]Meebmeew 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why and In what way are women biologically wired to cry more than men?

[–]808picklejuice 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Damn Evelyn I really couldn’t give a shit if I tried

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

maximum Man are built better than women to deal with emotional stuffs.. It is not a big deal if you can't deal with emotional stuff; not everyone has tough mindsets.. In this case you can take help from a male therapist, as a man can understand a man better.. just don't open up to a woman.. women never surely know what they want.. As a man i am telling you, don't fall into this trap..

[–]Diligent_Advice616 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She literally called herself a “hysterical female” I wouldn’t put much credence in what she says tbh. She needs the levelheadedness of a man next to her to make good decisions anyway so anything she says by her own admition isn’t worth listening too.

[–]ACustomWarframe 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She got ratio'd to shit tho. That good

“I should be able to trust a male partners levelheaded ness in a joint decision when I am beside myself…” LMFAO, hell no. If you are “beside” yourself, there are no joint-decisions. I, alone, will be making the decisions. You’ve already pointed out the reason why, sweetheart.
