I'm from Baltimore, and I have to give it to the local media. Every time I've heard this sorry on the news, which is like 3 times a day around here, the wording is that she raped him. Not she had sex with him, not she engaged in sexual activity with him, like it usually is with an older female and younger male. They have been referring to it as rape the whole time. Kind of surprising honestly.

To me, this has more to do with status than it does gender.

We routinely give free passes to people of high status regardless of gender when it comes to these deals. If the abuser is of a high enough caliber as far as society is concerned, then it's A-Ok.

For guys, the only requirement is that the abusing female be considered mainstream attractive.

For girls on the other hand, the only requirement is that the abusing male has to be loaded financially. Take Seinfeld and his underage live in GF as but one example. If the abusing male is wealthy enough, then the underage female would get the same amount of 'Nice!' that underage boys do as society collectively looks the other way.
