This isn't the first time this idea has been expressed on Reddit, but I'm noticing a lot of chatter about these tests, so I thought it would be beneficial to reiterate.

The main issue women seem to have with paternity testing is that, when a man asks for one, he is implying he doesn't trust his partner. Fair enough. I can empathize.

But, if the decision was out of his hands, there would never be a need for him to ask.

He would have the peace of mind that men usually say is the reason they want these tests to happen. If he's not the father, he could righteously leave the relationship before forming a bond with the child or expending resources on offspring that are not his responsibilty.

I think that cheating, or, at the very least, unprotected cheating, would be discouraged simply by this being an accepted standard.
