Lol. It doesn't work that way. No man is going to "get the ick" or get "turned off" if he sees a woman get beaten up. That only happens to women when they see men get beaten down. There's no social expectation for women to be physically dominant or strong or good at beating people up.

If she gave up fighting and went in to self-protection mode then she must have felt that was the smartest thing to do at the time in order to avoid being seriously hurt/killed.
