And I haven't looked back. I know the passive benefits of social media as a means to show off for SMV, or to pretend you're happier than everyone else, but TBH, I have very little to show off outside knowledge, and no one likes a smart ass.

I started noticing 'like' hierarchies, as I call them. Top-tier people get all kinds of likes, despite never posting anything original, though you won't see them liking lower people's statuses. Sometimes manginas get a shit-ton of likes for being good servants of the hive mind, but everyone knows they're still not getting any.

If I was in a position to maximize SMV through social media, I would, but at this juncture it does more harm to me than good for a slew of reasons. One, I tend to speak my mind, sharing abstract thoughts I find somewhat enlightening. It alienates me from a lot of people, except some I don't want to associate. I don't have a smartphone, and can't take interesting trips, so not much to show off. I could show off my body at times, but that only highlights you're a player, and a 'low-class' one at that, if you don't have the right upbringing or credentials.

Another point, or confession, is that I'll linger on crushes (girls I think I have a shot with), or on couples to read between the lines and determine whether they're happy or not. I admit it's a strange habit that's likely not exclusive to me, not that there are many finger-pointer types on TRP. But anyway, what I mean about couples is I'll often see if they like each other's statuses/photos, and actually feel validated when they don't. I notice a lot that women will 'like' almost any upload from their BF, while their BF almost never returns the favor. Those relationships last longest. If a girl almost never 'likes' his uploads, then it's easy to assume she doesn't respect him. Lastly, FB will make you slightly question the validity of AF/BB, such as when a girl artificially bolsters a BB's online ego in a convincing manner. That's a main reason I quit.

Ideally, my FB deletion will result in optimizing my time. I played video games the first week, then got burnt out on those yet again. I've implemented aspects of my routines I usually procrastinate on. So far... so good?
