As you all know, for the most part, men have to take an active role in dating (if they want to date) and women take a passive role.

Men are expected to approach/iniatiate, setup the date, entertain, pay for it. Then if they're lucky, they get to have sex and once again they'll be taking the active role and doing most of the work. Eventually he proposes and the only thing time she takes an active role is when she's decided to end the marriage.

Since men take the active role, they carry the responsibility for what happens. This means that all of men's dating problems are their fault. Not getting laid? You aren't iniating enough or to the right women. Being ghosted or not making it past the first couple dates? You're not being interesting and seductive enough.

Since women take the passive role, they carry less or no responsibility with dating. Furthermore, their problems usually stem from (the wrong) men being (too) active and thus are solvable (by society). Getting approached by creepy men or are men being too forward? Stop the harassment! The men you reject aren't taking it well? Let's shame the Nice Guys! Society regularly helps ensure women are kept away from unsafe men.

Only women's issues with dating/sex are solvable because men take the active role and thus carry the responsibility. This is why the manosphere will never (openly) be taken seriously; the manosphere tries to recognize and discuss men's dating issues without putting all of the responsibility on men. Talking about hypergamy just makes men sound salty because it sounds like an excuse for an issue society deems to be entirely their fault and responsibility.
