One of the dumbest things that guys do is put themselves in the friend zone, this is why with women you make your intentions clear right off the bat, and if she says she wants to be "just friends", let her know thanks but no thanks, it's not that damn difficult

Let's say a man dated a woman who was swooning over him, didn't find her too appealing, but suggested that they "just be friends." Any time, the man wanted a favor or some easy sex, he'd call her up (knowing that he had her wrapped around his finger). Women would be up and down screaming about emotional manipulation. And rightly so! It's not wrong to point out that women sometimes do this.

Now, I agree that men need to learn how to stand firm and cut their losses if the woman he's eyeing doesn't want to date him. Even if she gave him a chance once she was done hoeing around, being an orbiter never results in a healthy relationship in the end.

Though when these friendships fall apart, I've always been amazed at just how vicious it can get. One example that comes to mind is the women mocking her friend over being a rape survivor, even laughing about it. Not the only time I've heard it, either.

IMO, the only issue is if this is the response after one admits their love for this person. It’s like having a horse that never let’s you ride it, but all it lets you do is take care of its needs. All that repressed emotion leads to resentment which just leads to a toxic relationship.

I'm a man and I have female friends and acquaintances. I honestly have little interest in dating them; although, I really enjoy their company. Honestly, when establishing romantic and platonic relationships, it is important to know what you want. If you are more than happy with being someone's friend, then do that. However, if you don't want to be "friendzoned" then don't be friends with them.

Have I had attravie friends that were women. Sure. But their value as a friend with me went way beyond just talking. I have enougha verage lookign friends men and women I can talk to about my life and vent with.

Most attractive women are not worth being friends with. They usually think their presence and conversation make them good friends. And it does not. Most men / unattractive women are more fun, interesting and funnier to talk to then the average attractive women.

Thing is, friends can tell their troubles to each other for support. Even if a woman claims to be your friend, If you, a man, make the mistake of venting your issues to her, she’ll tell you to man up and drop the friendship asap.
