It’s sometimes said that we are living in a completely unique dating environment compared to any other time in human history. Due to OLD moving into the mainstream there has never been more dating options available. In the not too distant past even the most attractive person had severe limits on their “dating” prospects due to simple geographical considerations. There was only so many places one could meet a potential partner.

Now( it is often said) even an “average” woman has a pick of literally thousands of men very hungry for her attention. This huge imbalance in dating options is exacerbated as Woman become less and less financially dependent on Men with each generation. Marriage( or simply coupledom) for most Woman is much less of the practical consideration it has been throughout much of human history.

I appreciate nobody wants to consider their parents in the context of their sexual lives but I think this presents an interesting thought experiment.

How likely do you think you would ever of existed had your parents been dealing with the realities of the modern dating market?

Would your mother of swiped right on your father resulting in your eventual birth… or would she have spent every weekend with a different guy?

Would your father have lost heart, become an Incel and moved to the woods…or would he be whoring around to his hearts content?

Before I get a barrage of “there is no way of knowing” this is a thought experiment designed to prompt discussion about the ever evolving sexual market place not the nature of space, time and reality.
