I had fallen in the trap of feminism poison as a naive teenager, but at least wasn't misandrist. Just bitter days and suffering in silence. Managed to escape and heal.

I feel blessed that I managed to find this sub. It's full of wisdom yet hurt souls that need compassion.

When I got out of the trap I had become neutral to the wage gap but I feel blessed that my spouse told me that it's a lie, as bosses would hire more women because they are allegedly cheaper.

Also in the past women didn't have many rights and were mainly housewives but men were forced to war. Nobody died from no voting, millions died in war.

Feminism works on the Mafia principle of getting their adherents to commit horrible acts to bond them to the Mafia's cause.

Most new feminists will have actively participated in hate speech against men before they even realize they are a feminist.

After that, they're all united to the cause because being anything else means facing the fact that they've said HORRIBLE things about men: the boys, disabled, sexually abused, depressive, homeless and every other meaningful example of the term 'marginalized'.

The idea that women's rights are lacking is a farce. Women have all the rights. Plus they have most of the benefits and biases in favour of them. Equality has already been achieved, at least for women. A woman can become anything she wants to in life, can start a business, can become a lawyer, doctor, senior executive, police officer, driver, pilot, army, teacher, nurse, researcher, professor, president, anything she pleases. Women can marry men or other women if she pleases. Women can become full time career woman, or a stay at home mom, or work part time while being a mother. Women can easily get dates and hook up as they'll always be in demand. Women will usually always be helped when they are in distress in public. The general public is more sympathetic and kind to women. Women can sue any company that underpays her due to her sex, and courts are very generous giving multi-million dollar fines to companies who underpay women. Women will usually get custody by default. The whole idea of marriage, divorce and alimony at least as they are today are for the benefit of women.

What feminism for a while have been doing is beyond equality which goes into sexist territory. Diversity quotas are inherently sexist and racist, they promote the consideration of looking at one's race and sex to appoint someone for a particular job, place at school, scholarships, etc. Mandating that a board be 40% or 50% female is beyond equality. Mandating that a corporate board needs at least x number of women is beyond equality. Giving women less penalties for the same crime is sexist.

Feminism has become an industry. A lot of feminism has been plagued by the female equivalent of "incel" (I use quotation marks as its never used correctly, but I will use feminist definition of 'incel') culture.

You will notice that a majority of people there don't really care about women in other areas of the world. You may find some groups, and they may be genuine feminist groups. But more often you will find Radical feminist groups. These groups have zero interest in other women (and even fight other groups of feminists) because they only look for selfish gain. They won't look twice at abuse of women in the ME for example. It's irrelevant to them because there is no personal gain.

One thing I really wish for in MRA is that it never becomes radicalised. MRA has spread awareness, directly or indirectly, and I'm glad we're being put on track.

I have been subbed to this sub since gamergate and subbing to Kia originally, I think. - Im automatically banned from a dusin feminist forums on reddit because of what I chose to read on here. I think thats super ironic, but as a based woman, with a very traditional old school life, Im used to having other women judge me harshly for making choices they dont agree with. - which again I find super ironic. Its like; Let women have the power to make their own choices! - NO, dont make THAT choice! - its so dumb.

Anyhoo as a bright eyed, naive person, getting the Banned message from visiting and subbing to forums they didnt like, made me feel like those feminists have adopted some kind of dystopean "right think" way of approaching discourse. It turns everything into an echo chamber and challenges nothing in the way their minds work on a problem. Everyone thinks the same, everyone stays limited. - And noone can handle having their thoughts and mindset challenged without shitting bricks. Its like a post modern nightmare.

Ive been reading this sub for years to try and figure out how come hatred of men is such a mainstream phenomenon and why this socalled toxic man is used as a pawn to place blame for almost anything negative or bad, that happens to, or is done by, a woman. I find it quite difficult to accept the female victim role. I love meritocracy and systems that reward merit. And so as a capable person, not just a capable woman, I find feminism and the systems in place that favor females above males in academia and other places extremely problematic. And undermining.

Anyway, I cannot understand how this has happened, except perhaps there is something about power that warps in ways we didnt expect when its given to us women. Something in our makeup that drives us in ways men have never been. Now dont get me wrong. Men have done some fucked up shit with their power over the years. Im not saying that you guys are the better part of the species. I am saying there is something about coming into power that takes some figuring out. And women dont do that with swords and clubs and camaradie developed in battle. Its more subtle and perhaps underhanded. I dont know what we can do about it either. I feel like culture is being hollowed out, and our healthy way of approaching problems is stunted, because of all the things we are not allowed to say without total and utter social condemnation.

Its depressing. Anyway. This sub isnt. - I wish all of you well. I know the world isnt being very kind to men and boys. Its deeply unfair, and deeply hurtful. You dont deserve being blamed for all the ills in the world, while simultaneously still being treated as the "disposable" gender that we throw at wars or let into the lifeboats last. - Its fucked up.

They are not stupid. They always do it in a way in which they are not lying but implying something.

For example: "Women get higher sentences on average than men for killing their partner. Majority of the women claimed that the partner has abused them."

This implies that they were charged with killing in self defense or something similar but doesn't flat out say it.

They never specify what crime they are comparing. Is it first degree murder, second degree murder, third degree murder, killing in affect, excessive self defense, planed murder etc...

Then we have different definitions, adding other variables or ignoring variables etc...

Example for different definitions is rape. They are not lying when they say against men it is mostly by men, cause by the definition that they use it is. But reader would assume that when woman forces men to have sex with her it goes there as well but it doesn't cause it only counts penetration.

But each time this particular one is used they use 1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men.

And ignoring variables "for every dollar a man makes woman makes 77 cents". Yeah if you ignore hours worked, job occupation, experience etc.

And this whole thing is because people are not checking the source of the claim. If it fits your world view then it must be correct.

The internalized misogyny bit is really frustrating. There was a post on r/women that said to remove everybody in your life that made sexist jokes. There were plenty of women in the comments saying that they enjoyed those kinds of jokes and even made some back. They explained that those jokes were ok if the relationship between their friends was built to handle that.

They were downvoted to hell and everybody was telling them they had internalized misogyny. What I find hypocritical is that what they're doing is actual misogyny. Shaming women for liking what they like. When I tried to call them out on it, they complained about "misogynists calling them misogynistic for calling out sexism"

We, as men, don't hate women. In fact we are biologically designed to chase, adore, desire, want to provide for and protect them. But we are bitter. We have good reason to be. The social contract for thousands of years has been we support women by building homes, infrastructure, governments, transportation etc etc, in order that together, we all have a better world in which to raise our young. Women supported men by handling nurture, nutrition, child rearing etc etc. Plenty of hard work has been done by both sexes. Obviously, these are crude generalizations, but that's been the unspoken agreement.

Now with the advent of "modern" civilization, those boundaries have all blurred and both sides want more freedom to organize their own lives according to their own desires. That's wonderful.

It's the spiteful scorched earth attitude of "feminist" doctrine that has men angry, hurt, and in fact, on the receiving end of life changing mistreatment.

I'm old enough and have seen enough human behavior to not be very optimistic, but I can hope. You give me hope Thank you🙏❤️

So I still consider myself a feminist even though I don’t share the views of everyone who claims to be a feminist. I managed to never be brainwashed and keep my critical thinking skills. I believe patriarchal thinking and practices still exist, so I do what I can to illuminate them when I find them. I really think that is what is still the problem is latent misogynistic thought patterns that we don’t even realize we still have, more than institutionalized patriarchy. I certainly don’t mind when women and men choose to live traditional male dominate/female submissive lifestyles. I just want to make sure that it continues to be a choice instead of the only option.

I also support mens rights, so perhaps I would be better described as a humanist. I come here to listen and to look for solutions to problems that both (or all) genders face. I keep listening for different ideas and options. I am hopeful we can solve these problems together.

Organized feminism is really toxic, specially when there’s radical feminists involved. I’ve been called by a “c*m deposit” by a “political” lesbian, because I’m not a lesbian any have no intention of forcing myself to be just so they think I’m a legitimate feminist. After I stopped following those kinds of people and started formulating my own ideas of gender equality, that are a mix and match of different theories that speak to my personal values, I’m much happier and confident about my opinions and I also think I’m more coherent and consistent with my points of view. So, if I believe in body autonomy, I believe it should be a right for everyone regardless of gender, age, race or religion. I also don’t see men as monolith anymore, and I unserstand how class, race and sexual orientation really change how much access a man has access to institutional power, and people who have to responsability in upholding structures that might be making women’s lives miserable in countried where women are still miserable shouldn’t be made responsible.

I still think a lot of the feminist movement’s activism was important in western history, and I also think outside the global north there’s still a lot women in poor and underveloped countries have to conquer as group that, indeed, has less institutional power. So feminism is not something to be completely disregarded and villanized, but understood and criticized.

I still have a bit of an issue with some discourse thrown around by some MRAs. I think some of them think feminists have a lot more power institutional than they actually do to actually make decisions and change policy. Still, I think the concerns and issues often brought forward in this community should be treated with much more empathy and seriousness than they are. A lot of what’s raised here shows how society is negligent when we’re talking about bodily and mental integrity for men.

There’s a balance, and there’s a place we can meet halfway. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like we’re gonna find it here nor in feminist communities on Reddit. I feel like I can get way further in the discussion when speaking about gender equality in person with people I know. In the internet everyone is too hiperbolic and vitriolic all the time.

I honestly feel sorry for you that those men got to you. The top comment says feminists hate each other. We don't. Feminism brought my entire (all girls) high school together. Feminism has actually united me with countless women across the country. Not everyone is like your friend, and the patriarchy is a thing that oppresses BOTH men and women.
