This is just a follow on to the idea that marriage rates falling is because of a shortage of "economically attractive men". Most women want men who earn more than them, and more than men actually earn. This is, of course, entirely because men are deadbeats and not at all because of systemic sexism against men (largely caused by feminism) and unrealistic expectations of educated women (largely caused by hypergamy).

The sad thing is that women get these degrees and start careers and then drop out of the work force "to start a family" and that is the problem. They want all the accolades of being successful but want a man just as successful as them to pay all the bills when they decide to stop working after a few years.

Edit: My statement was spoken in too general of terms. Women are not monoliths just as men aren't. There are good women out there just as there are good men who women claim are just as hard to find. Not all women are evil. Not all men are scum. Speaking in generalities does not help our cause.

And because women are 'doing amazing things in higher education', they will have to compete more and more for a quite limited pool of eligible men worth their always increasing standards therefore attention and "love". Unfortunately, it seems that reaching a high level of formal education doesn't help to take responsabilities but makes you good enough at deflecting.

The entire "egg freezing" trend is hilarious. Most of the women doing it are already in their late 20s or early 30s, if not older. IVF success rates are abysmal, less than 40% after 35. It's copium from aging women who can't accept that they're probably already too old to form a stable family unit and are desperately trying to buy time they don't have. It's sad.

Society is hypergamous. Women overall still want to marry up and be supported at least in part, especially when kids come along.

To give an example, more women than men now go to medical school, but that doesn’t mean they stuck with it the way men do and it doesn’t mean female doctors are happy to marry a male nurse - they still want to date up but as the article indicates that’s no longer easy as we focus educational efforts on females over males.

Focusing on females in education is purposeful and it makes no sense. It’s inconsistent with the reality of a hypergamous culture and it’s inconsistent with the fact women are more likely to drop out if the workforce or cut back.
