TRP is hard to swallow because it essentially boils down to "this is reality, deal with it on its terms."

A lot of people see TRP as men bashing women, but the people (mostly women) who think that don't see the other side of the coin. They don't see:

You're responsible for your own outcomes
You won't get shit from life unless you earn it, and maybe not even then
The world doesnt have a safety net for men, and it's a long way down
Unless you're productive, you don't matter to society
Winners are lauded, losers are discarded
Men have to earn their value, so get to work

These things are counter to the BP programming that tells people that they're wonderful and perfect they way they are and all that matters is self love.

I think you’re getting a bit confused about what the red pill actually is and what actually passes for TRP discussion on this sub these days.

TRP was initially just exposing men to the harsh reality of dating. This is what women find attractive, this is what they look for, this is how they think etc and then gave men advice on how to exploit that in order to get laid and that’s basically it. On the this sub now there is a lot of people who bring up ideas from TRP (n count, hypergamy, the wall etc) just to complain about women and moan that dating is unfair but don’t actually want to do the part where you do the self improvement to get laid. Which is more incel/black pill.

But isn't blaming the world around you super easy to do? Saying others suck is not a hard truth to swallow at all. In fact, "weaker" jaded people with lower self confidence seem to accept the ideology more. Your life sucks but you didn't do anything wrong, no; it must be the people around you.

It seems to be that a harsh truth would be the complete opposite. Maybe your life sucks because you suck. That sounds like an actual harsh truth - people dodge self accountability all the time to make themselves feel better.

It’s one thing to be exposed to said truths and even maybe accepting them. But even after experiencing it all first hand, it takes a long time before those truths become internalized in a man who has been BP his entire life.

I've always thought the red pill was what I already knew in that women are attracted to status and successful men and I feel like maybe for my generation but, late 30s, it's more like preaching to the choir but I guess maybe the younger generation it's more of a surprise?

The reason why you have this belief is because the red pill is so often espoused by bitter dudes who want to whine about how evil women are for not having sex with them.

There's also a lot of charged language in there, which is what they find humorous, but from the outside looking in, some would say it's toxic.

The red pill's initial intention is exactly what you're describing. It's to tell dudes that they suck, not the world, and that if they want the results they're after, they have to take some responsibility for their mediocrity and become the kind of man who achieves those results. By observing successful men in whatever field they're successful in.

It's constantly telling dudes to hit the gym, learn how to be charismatic, and become financially sensible, because that's a solid foundation. It's constantly telling dudes that women aren't evil, they're just wired differently to how you've been led to believe, so if you want to get some action, you have to endear yourself to that wiring.

The core of it all is a bunch of dudes trying to undo cultural conditioning and misguided advices, to try and see the world for what it really is, based on how human beings actually behave through their desires and actions. This is what they mean by the harsh truth.

In the same way that Neo unlocked a bunch of cool abilities by understanding the matrix, the idea is that most dudes can elevate themselves closer to where they want to be, once they understand the 'matrix' that is life. But they still have to put the work in to get to that stage.

Many dudes who swallow the pill find this frustrating or upsetting, so they whine and complain about how awful the world is and how evil women are.

Whether or not the red pill has an accurate view of reality is another discussion, it could well be just as false as any other worldview. But personally, when I started seeing things through that lens, it benefitted me tremendously, and I imagine I'm not alone in that experience.

It matters how they see it imo. I dk about you, but believing that girls I desperately want to get with and be loved by are all manipulative, materialistic calloused evils who will never love me for who I am and the only way to be with them is by being some materialistically or superficially valuable dude, is a pretty harsh pill to swallow. Thankfully for me my experiences have proven that that's not the case. Regardless, whether if the RP points are misguided and invalid doesn't change anything because that's what they believe, they make it their reality. So I do believe it can be harsh even though the truth is they're making it harsh for themselves.

I can also see how it can make things easier for some, by pinning everything and everyone else to the fault and denying to reflect on themselves, they automatically shed any kind of accountability in their head, and become stagnant because they believe it's others who are the problems.

So I guess there's really 2 types, pointlessly self flagellant but thriving to be productive types, or lazy logic spewer who has cited the same FnF's "stats" in about 30k+ posts.

It’s not about blaming the world, it’s about seeing it as it really is and accepting the burdens of performance necessary to succeed in it. It’s a pro male mindset in that it tells men to work hard, to invest in themselves and their lives, regardless of how poor a hand you’ve been dealt. It’s also harsh but men need that. It tells you about female nature and to not believe the one sided narrative pushed everywhere. It’s not anti female, it’s pro male, and very much needed.

Well, after you come out of an abusive relationship with a woman your view of the other sex can get really fucked up. If you blame yourself for everything that went wrong then this harsh truth, the rp, can be the way you see how the world works. Rp describes woman as abusive in general, so its really easy to identify with, love becomes a power struggle. You win or you lose and u need to keep your partner guessing about your intentions to win the battle. The reward for keeping her guessing is "love". Because part of the ideology is that woman are not really capable of real love. The only love you when they value you more then you value them . You can do this by using psychological tactics that prey on insecurities. The harsh TRUTH is deep down these guys don't believe love excist because of the things they went true, its actually really sad.

It's crazy to me how people who talk about independence and self-reliance and personal accountability and point their fingers at the woke mob as being a bunch of babies who externalize their problems instead of taking ownership of them and claim that they're entitled to things that they obviously aren't, in the next breath will basically be like "wahhhhhh the system is out to get me it's not my fault that I don't have the girl I want, sex and romance and reproduction or not things I'm free to pursue their stuff I'm entitled to, if the perfect bride doesn't just fall on my lap it must be because the system failed me/f***** me over"

You have entirely the wrong idea. RP is all about men acknowledging their shortcomings and working on them. Work out, dress better, make something of yourself, improve your game, etc. RP is literally just sexual strategy for men.

Accepting the limitations of women (usually precipitated by a traumatic experience with the opposite sex) is indeed a harsh truth, and is usually the first step on the path to this more methodical and realistic approach with women.

Well let's test this out. Some guy shows up and proves to you that the world is actually a simulation that robots are running to keep you distracted while they use your body as a battery.

Do you think it would be easier to accept that as reality or just take a blue pill that allows you to forget all about it and go back to the simulation without knowing it's a simulation?

When you believe the world isn't a simulation, someone saying it is sounds like someone looking for an excuse to not do whatever they are supposed to be doing in the simulation.

Also, I'd argue it's easier to change yourself than to change others...so if you accept that others are the problem...you're either accepting a shitty situation or you're dealing with a tougher problem.

I'm not stupid, I get that this can easily be abused...but if you genuinely believe it and aren't just using it as an excuse...I don't think it's easy to do at all.

Maybe I have no place in this thread? I thought it was always a question of how much truth can you handle. I'm ok with self accountability and facing your bad luck, facing your shortcomings.. An over generalization all to say: don't be using your personal hurt/plights/flaws/vulnerabilities as excuses to avoid correction, or put up a front, or discovering something outside of the matrix? And the part that just is plain unhealthy and twisted is where it becomes men v women. Men and women both have pressures to conform and earn their value?
