Some guys are just taken as they are without working on themselves because they have something you don’t and it may not be obvious to you. Everyone knows a guy that’s lame that just pulls girls for seemingly zero reason. It’s just the way it goes.

I think you only really need to work on yourself for your own confidence unless you really are lacking heavily in something important. Let’s say you have a sub-optimal understanding of how to have successful social interactions with people, you need to become good enough that you aren’t awkward. Improve where you’re lacking. That’s where it’s the most important. I’m going somewhere with this so bare with me…

I have this theory that there’s a law of diminishing returns when it comes to personal improvement. If you’re already at a level with something where you’re good enough to get by and it takes a lot of effort to get even better, it’s going to go unnoticed and you’re going to be frustrated as to why you’re not being treated better after putting in all that hard work.

Example: You were a super skinny guy and girls wouldn’t look at you because of it. They see you and just think “skinny weak guy.” You gain 15-20 lbs of muscle and now you’re treated like some of your friends that actually get girls. Now you want to go to the next level and be ripped, you work so hard for months and gain another 10 lbs of muscle and nothings changed as far as how women see you. You feel better about yourself but nobody else really notices or cares because you were already good enough before.

If you feel this way i’d guess you’re putting lots of your energy into working on something that didn’t even really need to be improved much more in the first place and there’s something else you’re missing where you need to fill the gaps and improve.

Those guys you see getting girls that don’t work on themselves probably just meet the bare minimum and have balance in every realm of what a girl wants. They aren’t really good at anything or excel in anything but they just meet the standard according to many women. Ask people in your life what they think you should improve

There's a bold assumption in your perceptions of other men. You may see a hot chick with a sloppy or out-of-shape looking dude and thereby assume he must be a bum and not work on himself. What is your insights to the men your describing? Did you interview them or do you personally know them to have this deep level of Intel on how shitty they are? Or perhaps, is this based on a quick glance at their appearance as you walk by them at the shopping mall?

Men may have very high value in ways you wouldn't notice by appearance for example social status, wealth, family ties, talents, personality type, etc.

Unfortunately the fact remains that women will almost always want a high value man in one form or another but the form may not be as cliché as you assumed. Just the same as you and me want a high value woman who has her youth, fertility, and appearance in order. If you see a good looking dude with a fugly duckling are you not perplexed just the same in the sense that someone seems to be dating outside of their "class"? Would this mean that women should stop keeping themselves in tip top shape for us men because of a few outlier dudes who are taking one for the team? Of course not!

There is an objective truth to the value of being the best version of yourself just as there are many unknown factors to why a few hotties are shacking up with what appears to be a dirty street urchin.

I don't want to sound like a dick, but that one statement by you tells most people everything we need to know about why you are struggling with women.

Women tend to go for guys that are confident and doing their own thing for themselves. Not to impress others. You can be one of two types of guys:

Bad boy type. They are doing their own thing and are a lot of fun, so they get dates and they get sex. But from a certain type of woman. And it rarely lasts.
A guy that's killing it becoming the best version of himself FOR himself. These guys also get plenty of dates and sex, and typically a higher quality woman (that's an opinion).

The guys doing things just to impress women? Or because they think that's what they are supposed to be doing? You're going to struggle. You'll probably find someone eventually as their "safe" choice, but I don't think you'll ever have what Guy #2 is going to have in a relationship.

Does that mean that the things I have going on aren’t appealing to a woman? No, of course they are. But the point isn’t that I’ve done all these things because they are appealing to women. The point is that I did all this shit because it is appealing to me.

That's because the "working on yourself" thing is secondary to actually meeting women.

If you want to play games of money, status, looks, with women - then you really don't have much of a chance beyond what you can accomplish in those fields - and worse - women will like you only because you have those things and not because of who you are.

Which is why game allows you to sidestep all of that.

I think working on yourself is good, but without mastery of actual game you play at a strict disadvantage.

I know guys who have maybe only looks (they work out), but no cash, no job, and zero status. They still score with women because they are relentless in their pursuit of sex, so their game and intelligence in this field is much much higher than a guy simply with money and status. Health issues (working out) is the easiest to fix.

I have 3 best friends. And this is a true story:

Never worked on himself enjoyed life, ate junk food, was chubby, did okay in school, has a below average career. Engaged to a fat girl who is not pleasant to look at or be around even (sorry not sorry, just that kind of vibe). He is happy.
Never cared about girls, maybe gay, maybe asexual works on himself for himself. above average career and is fit. Virgin, never had a gf, never had a dating profile. He is ambitious, driven.
Was fat, wanted girls, got rejected. Worked on himself, became fit, rejected girls who previously rejected him. No career, dates average, below average girls, got heart broken, still in the slump

And me. Had a medical -physical condition that made me not want to socialize, finally cured in my mid 20's. Grinded my whole life. Good education, high paying job, 10 years in the gym with steroids. Dated models, dated daughters of CEO's. Cry in the shower at least once a week because work and school was more important than family and friends. Make good money, still can barely get by because I go to prestigious school in US - we are all from poor EU country. I am not happy. I don't care about superficial things anymore, I am not attracted to blondes with big boobs. I am attracted to girls with a story. I don't need steroids to attract those girls... Eventually we all do what we do for ourselves, just strive to be happy, when you are happy, and you are putting yourself out there you will meet someone. If happiness means dating models, then you will have to work on yourself.

I'd say it is what is it. Game, life, people are unfair. It was never fair and it never gonna be. Someone's is always richer than you, more handsome than you, taller than you, more fun that you can ever be but it is what it is. You can still increase your chances if you understand how to play the game and make the most out of what you got

Sounds funny to me. You should never do stuff to please others. Do stuff just for yourself. Improvement is about self growth. It is not about pleasing others.

You are probaly really young so you do not think about that deeper stuff but you should be grateful what you have. Many people are not healthy, many people do have a stable job. They are not sane. They have to fight with bigger ods to master then your rather minmal problem with women.

Not getting women if you want them sucks I do not want to downplay your problems but your problem is rather small compared to the odds other people have to face.

Work on yourself for you. I don't know about you, but I have a lot of goals I have yet to achieve. I know when I achieve my goals, I'll also attract the kind of woman I want to be with.

After you're in a relationship, you continue working on yourself. That's very attractive.

I wonder how long the relationships last where the guy doesn't work on himself? Maybe he's able to get a woman to go out with him or have sex with him, but is it long term? My guess it's not.

Yeah but tradtionalisim and conservative values stay usually bc of they have a more religious nature a traditional woman is much easier to deal with. Also they're quality of life will depend on you... So unless you are a total douchebag to them they will be happy
