I think for a lot of people "hate group" would be too strong a word but in reality if the genders were reversed or if it was a matter of race, most would easily accept that label in the equivalent scenario.

Compare that to male advocacy that is often associated with the likes of Andrew Tate who isn't a male advocate by any stretch of the imagination. And even he is mild compared to the disgusting comments you can find by certain feminist icons. It's a stark contrast how the two are perceived.

The thing that got me recently is that you can look on r feminists and they do not even believe toxic femininity is a thing. I really dislike the manosphere eg tate etc. However there are just as toxic females. They are in complete denial of the man hating and victim mentality elements. We need to stop toxic and violent behaviour and take gender out of it. All this does is have men and women at each other's throats as the elites rub their hands.

The word "feminist" is a useful tool to create the Motte/Bailey structure. For this argument, I will separate the "feminists" into two categories, egalitarians and misandrists. So the feminist movement has always been led by misandrists. They are the core philosophical and financial structure of the movement. Meanwhile, egalitarians, usually working class people, seek some kind of institutional influence, starting with good faith attempts at gender equality. But they end up siding with misandrists, the ones who hold the power and make promises. Here's where the "feminist" label comes in: the misandrists and the egalitarians claim the title of "feminist", blurring the line between the two sides. This is what the misandrists want, they want a section of the movement to be genuine egalitarians, so that they can point to them as the "Motte". They'll say "See? Feminists don't actually hate men." Meanwhile, they get to work on the "Bailey", the hateful sexists laws against men. And the most insidious part, is that the misandrists slowly start to indoctrinate the egalitarians, until their hateful policies sound logical to the cause of gender equality. The egalitarians start repeating misandrist doctrine, and act surprised when people call it out. A similar phenomenon is happening with various men's movements, where the egalitarian mra's become targets for right wing influences. Btw, glad this sub exists, because otherwise I would be bombarded by right wing garbage everytime I engage in critique of the feminist movement.

Preach it! I find that there are various types of Feminists. While the majority are misandrists they are misandrist in different levels. There are the terminally online feminists who are extremely hateful and radical. There are also the activists who are outwardly hateful towards men. Then there are the apologists who say shit like “Misandry irritates. Misogyny kills.” and/or “The misandry is coming from a place of trauma and hurt” And then there are the feminists who claim to recognise and support issues like male victims of domestic violence and rape and the issues with the draft but then say “men are also victims of the patriarchy”. And that leads to the feminists that keep spouting about patriarchy and blaming every issue on the ‘patriarchy’. And then there are the chill well meaning feminists who genuily support and care for women’s issues. And while they say ‘feminism is about equality!’ They completely ignore men’s issues and lean into being misandry apologists. So yeah. While there are all different kinds of feminists with different beliefs and opinions and have different levels of radical-ness and peace, they all have one thing in common. They all don’t give a shit about men. Whenever a decent person who doesn’t hate men described themselves as a feminist because they care about gender equality and women’s issues I tend to say or think “be careful with that label” because of feminism really is and has become. I feel like people call themselves feminists because they are scared of the backlash they’ll get and being called a ‘misogynist’. Yeah, because apparently human females equate to a movement and philosophy.

Feminism is not really a coherent political ideology or philosophy. It is primarily an affiliation network for women and girls; a vehicle to signal loyalty to a particular in-group. This is the only universal model of feminism that has ever made sense to me when soberly analyzing how the term is used, and has been used historically. Otherwise there is nothing consistent in what makes a feminist, what constitutes feminist beliefs. That does not mean there is nothing ideological within the feminist dialectic, but that anything ideological is downstream of the initial premise, that it is an instrument to identify oneself with alignment in a female in-group. This is why no two self-identifying feminists will ever share the same set of opinions, because it's not really a philosophical ethical program the way a religion might be, or a strict methodology/political program the way Marxism is. It's not supposed to be; what makes feminism useful is its ability to mobilize women in alignment with each other, to circle the wagons and protect each other, to defend each other from criticisms, to hold off on public disagreement, etc. the way any affinity group operates.

In practice this means the voices that are most primed to full-threadedly support and defend membership in the group, the ones that rise to the top, are also the ones that can articulate post-hoc justifications for the very existence of the group, which requires them spinning elaborate theories that depict non-members as inherently threatening and a pre-existent danger to the in-group. They have failed to demonstrate any workable analysis of history, because feminism is not based on a working, falsifiable methodology; it cannot be, because that would imply dis-affiliating from members who fail to live up to its method, or expulsion of members who betray some sort of core political program, which it doesn't have. And because feminism lacks a distinctive political program, female chauvinism is the only outcome when the only thing its members can universally agree on is loyalty to their in-group. It doesn't matter how well-meaning or egalitarian its members are - in fact, I believe the vast majority of women, even ones who call themselves feminists, truly hold egalitarian principles. It's just that the cost of signaling loyalty to the in-group requires buying into its own existence and defending it, which allows its leaders to use it as a tool to win political influence and power. The capitalist class barely has to expend effort to co-opt feminism because its not even a coherent political ideology; at best its produced a subculture, certain forms of rhetoric and aesthetic sensibilities that signal membership, and those are very easy to co-opt for the purposes of marketing and political support. It is also a very influential subculture, nearly indistinguishable from marketing media that targets women and girls in general - after all, why wouldn't it? It makes their targets feel good, and feel empowered, to be told that consuming specific products, voting in a certain way, and signaling public alignment is a form of activism that helps their position in society.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with the spirit of this post. Whether or not feminism is a hate group is not my concern (for transparency, if I had to articulate my belief, I think it effectively produces a hate-group-like social effect but that at its core its defined by in-group bias, which is subtly different because it produces more effects than mere opposition to another group, but I digress). What I mean to say is we need to be soberly recognizing feminism for what it actually is, how it is actually used in the broadest possible sense; an affiliation network for women, without any consistent beliefs beyond that. And if we analyze it under this model, and treat it that way, we can learn to recognize that most feminists, when talking about feminism and trying to describe their beliefs, are under the mistaken assumption that feminism even has any beliefs, and they've adopted that assumption for specific reasons, specific personal interests. This is why the average feminist woman is not personally an enemy to men, they're just ignorantly repeating a post-hoc justification they've absorbed earlier that was born of a superstructural frame. In order to communicate with them, you have to be prepared to analyze where they're at and carefully deprogram their beliefs with a Marxian scientific methodology, same as any liberal who has adopted bourgeois rhetorical beliefs against their interests. In the meantime, its up to men to develop masculinist affiliation signals for our own protection, but unlike the history of feminism we need to be doing so with falsifiable methodological analyses to avoid the same mistakes feminism made, such as being ready to notice and gently correct our male comrades who fail to live up to the science, or publicly critique ones who take advantage of the rhetoric to draw men into reactionary beliefs. Thankfully I've found that this sub already does this plenty enough, and I have great trust we will continue to do so while we collectively pursue our emancipation from gender-based discrimination and oppression.

This is why I enjoyed Kpop Demon Hunters so much, or The Owl House. (Aside from them being good lol) while they’re centered around female protagonists, the men are not portrayed as being evil just because they’re men. sure, there are some men who are bad in them, but not because they’re men. They just happen to BE men.

It reminds me that not everyone is sees men as inherently evil. That one day, we might achieve actual equality.

One silver lining in this is that a lot of the people I have seen who describe themselves as “feminist” literally do mean “equality” and just say it as a trendy label. The “feminists” who are published are the ones that are the most well spoken and most extreme in some sense.

Really?! I get moderated for posting a thoughtful Guardian article about dating and what effect the "manosphere" has had on it but this gets through? This borderline tourettes syndrome rant from someone who obviously spends too much time online. This is just a cross post from r/ToxicFeminismIsToxic which quite frankly comes off as... toxic.

The reason I like this subreddit is because it keeps it's shit together and doesn't act as polarised as the as all the other ranty junk in the "manosphere". Polarisation is the problem. This just spreads more of it.

As for the issues with Feminism, i think the problem with it is that it started out as a movement, which has been 100% successful in western countries, which should have brought an end to it, but academia has turned it into an ideology and it has nowhere else to go but into man hating. But I don't think that is the general feeling in the majority of women, just the loudest 5% on the internet.
