I can't in good conscience support modern feminism as intersectionality has pushed the movement from philosophy to religion - and I can't stand being dictated to by a bunch of self-righteous moralizers. In the Bible we had 'original sin,' and we also have original sin in intersectional feminism only instead of that referring to Adam and Eve, it applies specifically to hetero cis white men. Questioning any intersectional feminist talking point is rebuffed as: misogyny, homophobia, or racism. In the event that the intersectional feminist you criticized was a queer woman of colour, you are all of the above. Clerics had no problem, for centuries, describing the Bible as the word of God, and that word was infallible. So too do intersectional feminists believe the doctrine to be beyond reproach. Intersectional feminism asks men to stand aside, and be quiet - much like religious folk once felt that women were best seen, and not heard. Only through checking privilege (renouncing sin), denigrating your own demographic, and holding all others up as better can you show yourself to be a true 'ally' to the movement. And all you had to do to become that ally was to become and enemy to yourself. The church enabled generations of men to believe they were superior to half the population, and this chauvanistic current runs strong throughout feminist movements in the 21st century.

So, I ask feminists the same thing I asked my gender studies prof in college: as a cisgendered, hetero white male, what positive things does your movement have to offer me? What negative assessments are you willing to make of me based on my demographic affiliation? That didn't pan out well in class. All I got was a dirty look, and a C minus. My prof was also unable to express any good things feminism would have to offer a cis white hetero male that didn't include stepping aside and checking privilege - so she did end up looking like something of a bigot to the male students in the class, hence the dirty look and low grade.

To me feminism has been reduced to the scapegoating of straight cis white men in the year 2019, for the atrocities committed by other straight cis white men in the: 20th, 19th, 18th, and 17th centuries. To ignore reality and rally behind "white privilege," rather than acknowledging that "majority privilege" exists everywhere, in every culture, on every last speck of inhabited land on this planet.

To call it white privilege specifically tells me one of two things, either: A) this is something only white people do (which is definitely not true), which brings me to B) that white people should know better, and as such their offense (which all majorities are guilty of) is therefore worse. One of those conclusions is a lie, and the other implies that white people (engaged in the same behaviour as any other dominant culture) are terrible people for participating in the same system as everyone else.

that is not true as a statement is fact a generalization of all men, feminism helps nothing in modern or past times, it was only given to take power away from black men in households but to give women power was secondary and has always been secondary, feminism isn't a movement in itself infact it seperates us from making true progress all over, but because we only focus on singular rights we only get so far, I like alot of the female politicians, naming 1 elizabeth cortez feminism has no place in our modern world, because younger women get all the jobs now, the pay gap only apllies to white women and white men. and is way diffrent for other races, men in other races are kept as pets and minority women as variety, that is why more times than often women make more money in the black race and mexican race, there was a phrase called keep the pussy kill the men,so we can talk all day about womens issues, but they pale in comparsions to you small almost insignificant wage gap.

The Victorians started the whole waw, not the feminists. Early feminists only argued

Not really. The concept of the patriarchy states that especially because of biological differences between men and women, men have historically run the show and women haven’t spent as much time in positions where they can influence society like politics, owning property, voting, and working jobs instead of staying at home. Nothing in this concept says that men are evil. If you post in /r/askfeminists and ask whether that’s true, you’ll get a unanimous no.

The only time you’ll ever hear “men are evil” and “kill all men” is by seeing screenshots on /r/tumblrinaction, of which many are from trolls. The ones who aren’t are either angsty teenagers or ridiculous radicals and shouldn’t be considered part of the dialogue.

Literally just projecting the power of the 1% onto all men. Do you know what power I have in politics? Owning property? Voting? The same as any woman of my economic class, so why act like the patriarchy still exists? Feminism is blaming the 99% of men instead of the 1% that derive their power from the immense wealth they own.

Until feminists realize it's not men that hold the power, it's the extremely wealthy who just happen to be men, they will never win over the new generation of men and the right/alt-right will continue to grow.

Feminism was a mistake. Even SAUDI ARABIA is getting too soft on women. Women should definitely not be allowed to vote or even drive. How have they not learned from the mistakes of the west. If you give a bitch even an inch theyll take a mile and then some.

Women would be absolutely powerless if it were not for good men defending them. The only thing stopping a man from raping a cunt is the threat of a man in a blue uniform throwing him in a cage to be raped by other men. Ladies, thank good men for your bodily autonomy. Literally walk up to one, shake their and and say "thank you for your service". If it was not for them, your holes would be public property.

If it was up to me it would be illegal for women to be literate. It would be illegal for a woman to even leave the home. The only time she needs to leave is when she is being transfered from her father's house to her husband's. Women are subhuman and should be treated as such. They are vile depraved wicked animals masquerading as people.

Normally I am really cold all the time. Now I have a stupid fever which I have not experienced in many years. I now sympathize with men who get too hot in offices. (Edit for literalists: normal people interpret this statement to mean I’m frustrated by feeling sick but would like to half jokingly use it to discuss the topic. Not that this is the first time in my life I’ve ever considered men’s POV.). But it also really really is awful to be so cold you can’t focus on anything except being cold. Just let us have space heaters and the issue is solved. It turns out this is not a feminist issue it’s just that it’s really annoying to be either too hot or too cold and not in control of your environment.

Edit: oh look I showed empathy for men on here like how they claim to want, and see how they responded.

I haven’t been dealing with any of this, what the hell are you talking about years?

I have anemia which is why I’m colder than even most women and I as I have repeatedly said, if I’m free to have s tiny space heater and wear layers I am fine. I have literally never said a word about this at the office except one time another female coworker complained and I told her we were allowed to get heaters and sent her a link.

However the “see a doctor” advise is always just an asshattery way to cop out of the discussion.

You take everything so literally and seriously, but you’re biased against women and can’t see things objectively.

There is nothing in my comment to indicate I have never empathized before. Do you understand humor, do you understand nuance or fun? Someone with social skills would realize that I was venting about being sick and decided to playfully bring up the temperature issue. See unlike you with women, I believe men at face value when they say they are too hot, and I support dress code relaxation. there is no branch of feminism that contradicts the main overarching basis of feminism--advocating and fighting for the social political and economic rights of WOMEN. that different branches disagree on how you DO this does NOT mean they "contradict each other". that liberal pop feminism may recognize a few "mens issues" that they feel they can stand up for does not CONTRADICT this. there is nothign but a stale internet dictionary entry and 7 internet college girls that contradict this

show me the branch of feminism that claims it is about correcting inequities men suffer vis a vis women or that claims to be about MENS rights as MEN RIGHTS activists identify their issues?

at most feminism says "feminism helps men TOO", i mean its WRONG, it doesnt help men it cant help men and women at the same time, but thats ALL it claims

do you believe the bible is not the core text of all christian sects because they all contradict each other over certain theological and practice points? they are all CHRISTIAN sects because they all follow th ebible and CHRIST. feminism is all FEMINISM because it all ADVOCATES FOR WOMEN

Yeah, I think so. The question is whether sex work (or rather what types of sex work) can exist without coercion or abuse.

There's like this neat-and-clean fantasy that empowered women might engage in sex work of various forms in a vacuum. On the one hand you will occasionally encounter very-educated women who for whatever reason chose to strip because they enjoy it and prefer it to a 9-5 and find the pay is better. Those types generally have the power and protection to tell abusive guys and predators to fuck off and chose the work.

On the other hand, the brutal reality is that the overwhelming bulk of "sex workers" are abuse survivors, suffer mental health problems, are stuck caring for family, challenges completing education, obtaining or keeping other employment, homeless, are trafficked, etc.

There are many, many other issues, too and it's a very complex topic. It usually boils down to some sort of double bind hell where everyone's having to weigh one evil against another.
