25 year old white, bisexual female living in a mid-sized Arkansas town. I'm liberal by local standards, but that's not saying much since local standards are mostly dictated by the Southern Baptist Church. I'm an INFJ, if that matters, and prefer to do my communicating in writing. So the internet is just great for me.

I'm married to a man who I feel has gotten an unfair shake in the custody battle for his daughter, and that ordeal turned me onto the issue of men's rights. At this point I'm just absorbing information, though I find the sheer monolithic anger at women in the manosphere to be a bit much. Same with the opposite side in feminism, though I do recognize that regressive feminism has more power in the current social climate.

My husband and I have an open marriage, but I find the politics and psychology of monogamy and dating culture to be very interesting. So, here I am.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 9 years ago* (22 children) | Copy Link

I'm a 28 year old white female living in a major city in Texas. Grew up in a trailer in bumfuck nowhere, west Texas near the New Mexico border. I used to be a teacher but it wasn't a good fit for my introverted self (although there were things I loved about it), so I went back to school for my master's degree and now I work in higher ed as an instructional technology specialist and occasionally teach English classes at a community college. I'm getting married in September to a pretty neat dude, he is a welder and an artist. We have a dog and a cat who are, objectively, the cutest critters on planet earth. I am textbook ISFJ. I have no ambition in my life other than to have a stable, tranquil existence and enjoy the company of nice, fun people. I love country music and spending every spare minute of my life outside. My aesthetic is kind of hippie/gypsy/cat lady chic. People think I smoke a lot of weed but I never have. Yo hablo español (kinda.)

Why am I on PPD, who the hell knows. I don't know how I got here but I can't bring myself to leave. This place is the damn Hotel California of subreddits.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I love country music

What kind of country are we talking about, fellow fan?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

I am so glad you asked! :D

Well I was raised on classic country and bluegrass. Some of my earliest memories are of hanging out at my grandparents' house listening to Marty Robbins or Flatt & Scruggs records. So I love that old-timey stuff. My dad was into the whole outlaw country thing in a big way so of course I'm a big fan of Waylon, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard et al.

As far as modern stuff, I like alt country and what's referred to as Texas/"red dirt" country. My favorite band is Turnpike Troubadours (my username is actually a reference to one of their songs). I love love love Jason Isbell, I think he is the best songwriter living right now. Those are probably my top two. Random sampling of other stuff I like:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKZjNKsoRSM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nekSiQlyo8E

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdP3oT8JyU8

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_aoaHgTwUY

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JM_eK2mFogk

I'm not into much "mainstream" country these days although there is some I like (Chris Stapleton is great, I love Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt is a great songwriter though I'm not a big fan of his production/performance style.) I like stuff that sounds more traditional.

Oh and I love 90s country in all its cheesy over-the-top glory. I saw Garth Brooks a couple months ago and it was one of the best nights of my life.

You got me started. I could talk about country music all day, lol.

I am seventeen, Chinese. I read anything that is put in front of me regardless of the quality, I follow a lot of professional computer gaming such as Brood War, League of Legends, Starcraft II and Hearthstone. I will be working on my philosophy degree and attending law school afterwards. I tend to be serious, direct, in addition to that, I am conservative leaning.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

I watch more Starcraft II than I actually play it.

[–]WhiskersNTreddish purp1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

This is a trend I don't understand with the younger generation (I'm millennial)

How is it interesting to watch other people play video games

To me that ranks up there with watching paint dry

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Starcraft 2 is a competitive strategy game. Watching two players duke it out in a series of matches is similar to watching a soccer game or professional level chess.

[–]WhiskersNTreddish purp1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Hmm yeah I really only like watching one sport although I'll watch others socially because it's fun to watch sports with friends

My friends and I aren't really gamers so maybe that's why I've never been exposed to this

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

My fiance watches people play Hearthstone all the time. I cannot understand it.

And he says I'm boring for watching baseball.

[–]WhiskersNTreddish purp1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

To his credit though , baseball is the worst

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ugh :P

[–]Love8DeathPost-RP0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's fun to watch logic battles.

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Kinda like watching sports without playing...

[–]WhiskersNTreddish purp1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

lol yeah I hadn't thought about it like that. With sports though, you do get the whole tribal thing which I find super fun, there's really nothing like being in a crowd full of your teams fans when you're all half drunk and your team makes a big play

I kinda talked about this below , but I really only watch one sport, it's the same sport I played in jr high and high school and I have a real love for the game. My friends and I aren't big gamers but I guess if we had all played Starcraft growing up then I might see it differently

[–]Love8DeathPost-RP0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Try watching some MOBAs, very very sports like. Fun shit.

[–]WhiskersNTreddish purp0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Is there a particular one I should check out? Where do I watch it?

[–]Love8DeathPost-RP3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Twitch.TV or YouTube.

Heroes of the Storm is simplest and most about strategy and action. It's in the Bizzard world so you'll see heroes from Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch.

League of Legends is the most popular, a little more complicated because there's more rules and a higher skill cap, more different heroes to choose from with different skill sets.

Defense of the Ancients 2, aka DOTA2, is the most competitive and most complicated with the highest amount of heroes and nuance.

There's also SMITE which has a God theme and is first person as opposed to bird's eye.

The more complicated, the longer time you'll be lost and more you need to learn, but typically the more epic and exciting and crazy moments take place too.

[–]cxj75% Redpill Core Ideas0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I thought Dota had the higher skill ceiling than league

[–]Love8DeathPost-RP2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yup. That's why it's most competitive and complicated.

[–]Electra_CuteChristian, Flat Earther, Anti-Vaxxer, Astrologer2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It is entertaining watching players who are extraordinary skilled.

[–]cxj75% Redpill Core Ideas0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

People who haven't played or watched just can't fathom it lol

[–]Electra_CuteChristian, Flat Earther, Anti-Vaxxer, Astrologer1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed

[–]BiggerDthanYouBluetopia1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How is it interesting to watch other people play video games

That just like how some watch other people play chess, poker, drive cars, sports or even just in their everyday life.

To me that ranks up there with watching paint dry

Because either you've got to understand what's going on in that game to appreciate the art of a skilled player or you've got to be a people reacting to stuff. If you are watching StarCraft that's like chess on steroids, if you are watching a fighting game that's as strategic as boxing and their reflexes and skills are on top, if you watch a horror game their emotions feel better than it would feel like if you had to play it yourself.

If you watch any sports (analogous to pro gaming) or even sitcoms (analogous to let's plays) you can try to understand it.

[–]WhiskersNTreddish purp0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah this makes sense. I'm not really a gamer, I've played a few games very casually, but not anywhere enough that I'd like to watch other people play. But I do enjoy watching sports that I've played, where I really understand the game and can appreciate the strategy and skill involved

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Its the rage factor that can drive you away from playing but still allow you to enjoy watching others play(also the streamers personalities obv)

I'm glad I got away from that type of emotional reaction when I was younger, but as a result I just don't really play games as much anymore. They don't matter as much without that emotion. I only really play dota 2 and only because my friends want me to play with them

I cant even imagine myself playing an fps game anymore, 90% of the fun is the dominance and trashtalking which I just lost interest in

[–]OurThrownAwayDreamsWorking On Myself0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How is it any different than watching people play sports? You're watching a game where you understand the rules and strategies required to win. They are of the same thing.

[–]WhiskersNTreddish purp0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't have any friends who are passionate about video games, and and video games aren't cool

Also I mean it's always more fun to play than to watch. If I could just plug into pickup games any time with people matched to my skill level? I'd be playing pretty often.

Unfortunately the logistics of playing sports are quite a bit different than video games, so committing to a league is a big deal, still doable but it's a commitment

[–]cxj75% Redpill Core Ideas0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm in my early 30s and loved watching sc2 for years

More fun to watch than play imo, if you understand how hard it is to play then watching it is incredible

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

you're actually 17?

[–]Electra_CuteChristian, Flat Earther, Anti-Vaxxer, Astrologer0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I am a 29F first gen Nigerian American Libertarian living in the South. I am a government relations professional. College educated. I like watching trash reality tv and reading historical nonfiction.

[–]EmpoweredGirlMisanthrope2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Don't you hate it when you get compared to Black Americans! Seems like first generation Nigerians are always highly educated as a whole.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

ehhhh depends on the subject but sometimes yes.

[–]EmpoweredGirlMisanthrope0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Sorry it might appear to be a random comment, my family and I were laughing today at stories where Nigerians protest being lumped in with native black americans.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Hey I might have a case in WI this year!

[–]LSTW12340 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I took a Zumba class for the first time recently and felt the same way. Going into it I pictured myself as some salsa-dancing music video queen, sort of like how I feel when I dance with my friends after a few drinks, but I didn't realize how difficult coordinated dance-exercise actually is. Limbs flailing everywhere. One step behind everyone. It wasn't pretty!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Zumba is SO much harder than it looks, and I'm actually a pretty good dancer! I have a friend who teaches it and after my first class I made her give me a couple private sessions to learn what I was doing before I would go back lol.

I swim at the Y and they have a water Zumba class, I've been contemplating giving that a whirl.

[–]void_magic0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What kind of video games do you play?

[–]RockinSocksII25F poiple INTP - Not single, Eastuss needs to know this0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Currently playing Prey, falling back on Skyrim when it gets too difficult. I basically like playing any big open-world game, but like anything with a good story.

[–]void_magic0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Console or PC? Do you play with other people or stick to single player? If you do multiplayer do guys hit on you a lot if they find out you are a woman?

[–]RockinSocksII25F poiple INTP - Not single, Eastuss needs to know this0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Console currently. Working on getting a PC. I typically stick to single player as I don't want other people to suffer from my sucking, but I don't mind MMOs. There's not any good ones on console though, last time I checked.

[–]BiggerDthanYouBluetopia0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I basically like playing any big open-world game

Keep that spirit up. I'm already burned out by the vast amount of empty open world games. "open world" used to be a selling point for me, but now it's a warning that the game is most likely repetitive and boring.

[–]Love8DeathPost-RP0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Pole dancing needs soooo much strength, it's quite nuts.

[–]RockinSocksII25F poiple INTP - Not single, Eastuss needs to know this1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I'm always sore afterwards. Also, if I could be coordinated enough not to give myself bruises afterwards, that would be fantastic.

[–]void_magic1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

That's how you know it was good, oh wait you're talking about pole dancing.

[–]RockinSocksII25F poiple INTP - Not single, Eastuss needs to know this2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I mean pole dancing does sound like euphemism...

[–]IIHotelYorbatreats objects like women0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Hmmm. Take care of your hands if you do that. Pole dancers have the most insanely rough hands, it's like being jerked off by Iron Man.

I browse this sub because for whatever reason I'm fascinated by gender dynamics and sexual psychology, and I enjoy debating. I despise most of the gender-related rhetoric I see on Reddit, but around here it can actually be very interesting. I'm not a huge contributor because this sub can get very repetitive and a lot of what's "debated" comes down to obvious differences in personal experience, which can be frustrating. But for the most part I enjoy the discussions.

I am 42. 6'4". Heavily muscled brown Indian-born American male expat living in India.

I left a reasonably successful career in academics and a lab with an annual consumables burn rate of $2.5 million, to move to India about 8 years ago. Now, I work in the industry in senior management. On several evenings, I teach process engineering at the local engineering institute as a volunteer. I sponsor a couple of children every year from the local slums to go to a private school as a part of my annual contribution to our company's CSR effort.

I serve on the editorial boards of a couple of academic journals and am a reviewer for several more. However, I don't publish much anymore because of IPR issues.

Got married at 30. Got divorced at 38. Ex wife returned to the US. Took most of my US assets, which included my house, an old car and most of my retirement fund. No children. Live alone in a small'ish town right next to one of India's megacities. My parents and sisters still live in my hometown where I was born. I visit them every month.

I speak 5 languages fluently, and can muddle my way through another 2. I grow tomatoes, beets, mushrooms, and herbs when the weather permits. I sell what I don't use to the local subziwala. I cook or get delivery food. I write essays and novels in any spare time. Have finished two novels. I may publish them under a pen name someday.

I play my old Roland after dinner before going to bed on most days. Helps me think. I try to get at least 4 hours of sleep every day.

I travel significantly within and outside India. Precludes getting a dog, and in any case, I have lost enough pets already. I don't interact much with my neighbors. I have a home gym. My home is wired with enough surveillance equipment to make a small scale security establishment proud. I have a couple of discreetly hidden webcams in my office. I have one maid who comes in every week to clean. I manage everything else.

I like arguing. That is why I post to Reddit. I also see it as a way to help young men make better choices than I did.

Nothing I haven't shared here already. 21F, bisexual, open relationship with my guy for a year and a half now. I'm studying engineering in France. Aside from that I love reading, writing fiction, and (the process of) learning languages (though I'm not that great at it), and I admit I'm totally the kind of person who would list travelling as a "like" or "hobby" on an online dating profile. In my defense I am typing this from abroad...

Not overweight, pretty if you ask my friends, beautiful if you ask my parents, cute if you ask my boyfriend, ugly and fat if you ask my high school bullies. I'm an introvert and shy, I don't like social situations but if I want to be I can be quite likable. I usually don't have the patience to be. :/

ETA: I'm also reserved enough that it annoys friends and the bf, but on the internet I like talking about myself.

ETA: I'm also reserved enough that it annoys friends and the bf, but on the internet I like talking about myself.

[–]LyaninaBlue Pill1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don't know why I do it. I really do shut people out from seeing the intimate, personal stuff for some reason. Apparently I trust the internet more than my friends, which could seriously backfire someday. :p

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm the same way. It's weird though because I'm really shy/reserved one-on-one or in intimate settings, but I have no problem with public speaking or blathering on the internet.

I think it's because there's sort of a disconnect. I can get up and talk to a room full of strangers because even if they judge me, they're not really judging me, they're judging this person they don't really know and will never see again. Same thing on the internet, no one here really knows you, you're just words on the screen to them, you could be anybody, so it's not as scary to share more intimate details. It's counter-intuitive, but it makes sense in a way.

[–]LyaninaBlue Pill1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Male, 29, married. Eastern European, grew up in Asia. Work in investment management in Boston. BS in Finance, MBA, MS in Finance, CFA. Interests include anything food/drink related (love cooking or dining out, esp. In 2008 a friend gave me a copy of The Game - said it was 'interesting'. Read it, tried some canned stuff/routines, had a few laughs. More importantly, I got acquainted with the online Manosphere. African-American male 29, Florida. completed a BAS in Tech Development and Management. Currently working as a Technical Support Specialist. I am into anime and video games but I also workout at the gym, know how to cook a few meals, and am trying to expand my hobbies to include robotics and star gazing. I agree with a lot of what TRP says because I’ve seen it first-hand. If you’re not toting that rapper/badboy/player lifestyle and are not from the wealthy upper class your invisible (or mocked for trying to “act white”). While I wouldn’t say the guys who adopted this style were swimming in women, women did seem much more open and flirtatious with them than they did with those more straight-laced.

The flip side is that adopting the rapper/badboy/player persona spray paints a bullseye on your back, the establishment (school at the time) considers you a menace. I remember guys who always seemed to get in trouble when growing up, they would goof off, active a fool, be disruptive, etc and would be sent to detention, the principle and what not. As time progressed more and more of these guys were weeded out of the school system (expelled, juvee, dropped out, etc).

Early 20's nerdy guy with an amphetamine prescription and too much free time which in turn leads to me writing walls of text on Reddit so PPD is a great outlet for it. It's also the only place I actually feel "normal" in comparison to the people surrounding me haha.

Flirted with a cute tattooed girl today, my favourite type. Xanax + DHC + dex really is quite the combo. Gonna take the same on my interview next week. Makes me so social and confident. Forgetful tho.

Anyway where was I again? Oh yeah people on PPD okay well I live in London mate sick city, doing shit work now but as I said above got interviews coming up for better jobs, gonna do sick things in the future and besides I need more money to fund my various drug habits.

I got sick mates we know how to sesh and we got each other's backs. When one of my old landlords tried to kill me they let me stay at theirs while I got back on my feet. I got my mates some drugs to say thanks then my old landlord mysteriously lost all his money and his girlfriend just happened to got deported lol. Anyway. I've had a lot of relationships but just got out of a long complicated one so taking a break from that shit for now.

Are we still doing MBTI? Of course we are. INTJ master race.

Idk what else am I meant to say? I'm shit at describing myself, should probably work on that before hitting up interviews... bumps another line

I'm 5"10, 28yo, Middle-Eastern of origin, former incel turned "player" due to lifting and developing and "no bullshit" attitude, working shitty retail jobs despite holding a masters in science. So I've got the sexual-fulfilment part sorted but not the career aspect of my life. My hobbies are gym, gaming and anime basically so nothing particularly special.

I came over to the purplepill just to gain more clarity and to shift to a more even common ground. There's a lot of core truths to TRP, though it can generalise way too much at times. I still hope for a good solid relationship and not get into the mindset that she's suddenly gonna cuck me at the first sign of weakness.

Lifting and developing confidence has merit, and you don't need a misogynist cult with a wacky belief system for that.

I still would've been a bitter angry incel leading a life of bitterness and self-destruction if I hadn't of discovered the Red-Pill.

Even pushing myself in the gym to the point of nearly puking and starving myself on strict diets doesn't do much unless you actually know how to flirt with women. Even back in my bluepilled days, I've had liberals and other feminists giving me that same bullshit platitude about how I don't need a good body to attract girls and that they care more about how "sensitive" you are and everything. and trying to make me feel bad for conforming to "toxic masculine norms". Our society is disingenuous as fuck!

It's either hope to grow up amongst the popular kids or pray to God that you somehow find this community amongst the dark corners of the internet (it wasn't exactly mainstream back when I discovered it).

[–]Love8DeathPost-RP0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I'm being serious. Lifting doesn't cure autism. At least RP ideas provide you the social foundation to "how to act" and "what to say" around women. The only time I'd pulled girls on a nightout bluepilled days is if I was drunk and went for a girl on the dancefloor without any sort of conversation or playing my "nice, polite, respectful" A-game.

[–]slothsenpaiChad's autistic buddy1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Funnily enough, I got into PUA beforehand and honestly, I way over-complicated things! So I read The Game, read Mystery Method, read an entire book on freakin' NLP (neurolinguistic programming) to understand the concept of trying to appeal to people's emotions. But none of this fucking worked 'til I just stopped giving a fuck and abiding to "what would Chad do" in those situations. Funnily enough, a lot of the people who get laid have an IQ of a brick whereas geeky people tend to over-analyse situations, which I got caught in that trap sadly :-/

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Love8DeathPost-RP1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link

Ah so, the parts of TRP that make you feel good have merit, the parts that don't make you feel good that don't agree with your life experience do not. Nice and reasonable, and like every boring Blooper argument ever.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (30 children) | Copy Link

Nope.

The parts of TRP that have merit can be found everywhere and do not make TRP what it is. Unoriginal and no better or worse than a men's magazine. you know. BP advice

It's the misogynistic BS and blaming women for personal failings that makes TRP what it is - those are the parts that make terpers feel good. they need to blame others for their personal failings.

[–]Love8DeathPost-RP2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link

Yup, everything you don't like, is misogynistic bs. Dismiss, invalidate, discredit, without addressing any argument, more. Please. You're so effective.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (26 children) | Copy Link

Nope.

There's plenty of things in this world that I don't like that has nothing to do with misogyny and isn't necessarily factually inaccurate.

But TRP is indeed a bunch of misogynistic BS. Honestly I don't understand how people can believe the baloney going on there but there's all types in the world.

and if your self-worth is dependent on believing it's true... well that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

I'm a Gen-X STEM lord working a management job in the Yay-Area. Classic liberal with Libertarian leanings. In LTR but have kids with a baby mama. My struggles with the baby mama lead me to TRP, even though I was a 'natural' since early high school. My GF works in the same industry and has many of my interests, most importantly she likes to learn new things and is a good study.

Love reading, playing sports, and most outdoor things. I love finding the lesser traveled camping places, as California is up to around 33 million people, and I hate yahoos who keep me up late at night. Likewise I detest RVers who run their generators all day so that they can watch TV inside.

I mostly lurk on PPD and TRP but I enjoy both places. I suck at typing so I don't post much, but I enjoy the arguments I have in my head. I love arguing, jokes, true 'gossip' and schadenfreude. Life is fleeting, I've seen friends and neighbors lives turned ass over teakettle by one false move.

33 white woman living in big city, USA. Raised in suburban utopia by married parents with 2 big sisters who were jaw droppingly gorgeous so I settled for being the funny one. Started dating an art obsessed farm boy in college. Moved with him to the big city where he found artistic success and I found success in business/marketing. We spend our time working, traveling and collaborating with other artists (as well as drinking/eating/imbibing delicious & fun things.)

My network is made up of liberal/artsy/queer folks so seeing how people further to the right talk about issues is interesting to me. Also, I get to disagree and debate without pissing off the only conservative people I know: family/in laws.

I'm a (turning) 30 woman, who is living in the Northeast but grew up in Texas. I met my husband at the age of 13 (after moving from TX) and married him at the age of 22. No break ups, breaks, or otherwise not being with him after we started dating at 14. It's pretty awesome and I wouldn't trade even our worst day for anything.

I found out about trp (from /r/relationships weirdly), and blue pill since I did a search to see if anyone was combating their crazy and then finally did a search for purple pill to see if there was a meeting place for the two. I usually find the posts hilarious even if I do not partake often. My flair is purple because I can totally see why some people think certain rp hypotheses are correct, but I think that 90% of the time it's because they go out and look for "damaged goods" to practice their...skills on. I mean duh, if you are going out to bars/clubs of course you're gonna find girls that are just looking to have a good time and not settle down with you.

DebateStallion (if there is a user out there by this name, I'm sorry, this isn't my husband, he just lurks on reddit/imgur) and I have a doggo, about 10 chickens and he is even letting me keep a goose! (currently raising 3 geese, and like 13 chickens but most of them are going back to my mom's farm) The goose thinks it's a chicken anyway and not only is he super friendly but will act as a protector for the chickens from the foxes we have.

I like whatever is on the radio, except new country, I prefer classic/80's/90's country (George Straight, Garth Brooks, Little Texas, Johnny Cash etc). Sometimes I just can't deal with hearing people's voices so I listen to classical, or turn off the radio all together.

I like to play video games (solo games like Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Zelda, Skyrim, Portal, Final Fantasy etc, as well as MMOs like DCUO, GW2, etc) read and sometimes knit or quilt.

White male. Dripping with these privileges I keep hearing about.

"Older" millennial.

Military and law enforcement background.

INTJ on my MBTI.

I used to play PC vidya games, had to take a time out to get divorced, but I bought a PS4 and I'm liking Fallout 4 on it.

Played soccer, wrestled, rugby for a short time in college.

I enjoy film craft, the process of screenplay writing, and comedy.

I would have starved long ago without a microwave, but my LTR is getting me into cooking, which has been nice. I got myself a whetstone to keep the kitchen knives sharp, but slowly learning not all sharpening tools are equal has been a hard lesson learned.

I dabble in woodwork. I like that you can do pyrography to just about any piece and it will make it better or more unique to your taste and style.

I used to have this idea that my dream job would be to write for South Park, but lately I think I could be useful elsewhere, or at least that's what people close to me have said.

I recently got in an awkward conversation with someone who told me I was outgoing, because I have a professional personality that only mildly reflects my private one. I studied government and public affairs, as well as philosophy in college, so my degree has been spent in office diplomacy, rather than making the world a better place for everyone. I tell people this story that in middle school, I couldn't learn the scientific method, because my science teacher didn't know the difference between "then" and "than", so the "if, than" statements never quite made sense to me, and I didn't know teachers could be so daft, so I just said to myself, "well, I guess I'm not going to be a scientist". And that's as good a place to stop as any.

[–]Love8DeathPost-RP0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What an amazing effect from such a simple word, off by a single letter.

How can the world be a better place for everyone? Everyone can't be a winner. Though getting rid of nukes would probably benefit most everyone thinking about it. Aliens have tech to give us, but we're too dumb to handle it.

[–]InformalCriticismProbably Red0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How can the world be a better place for everyone?

I think accepting that one's own ego is practically the only obstacle to success and achievement goes unnoticed across the board. That would be a good place to start.

If not everyone is a winner now, then you can just play with the measurements of what qualifies a winner. Just keep lowering the bar, what could go wrong? No, I think trying to make everyone winners is counter to natural selection. What we need to be doing is "the best with what we have". In other words, get people to the point where they can say, "well, I'm not the best, but I'm the best I can be".

Though getting rid of nukes would probably benefit most everyone thinking about it.

What are you, a Russian soft CI agent?

Nuclear proliferation is what kept nuclear conflict off the table. Could it be what destroys the world, still? Yup. But, disarmament is impossible now that it has spread as far as it has.

If India and Pakistan are any indication that proliferation is the correct school of thought, (for now), then nothing else is.

I'm a bisexual Black woman living in New York City, and reaching the end of my mid twenties. I vacillate between E/INFP, although the classification doesn't mean much to me. I've lived in four different countries on three different continents, and am a fairly frequent traveler (albeit not frequent enough for my liking). I'm currently in a monogamous relationship that stemmed from a months-long FWB arrangement. I'm a career-driven woman who identifies as a former party girl. I'm a 23 year old white female. I work as an engineer. I'm very active. I live with my BF of 3.5 years.

I partied a lot in high school and college and now I'm starting to calm down. I actually got in trouble with this when I was younger.

I'm a libertarian with some conservative beliefs. I grew up in an upper middle class family. My parents had traditional gender roles when I was growing up, which I think was beneficial.

Why I'm on PPD? I thought RP was interesting, mainly the blogs. I'm an ISTP and so I like analyzing. For some reason I enjoy debating people on this sub lol. I am not really sure why.

[–]IHeartDay91 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Mid 30's poly, queer, brown, Jewish chick. Couple of kids, pets, ex-wife, and a partner of over a decade who I do not share finances/mortgage/primary residence with. Awkward as fuck, probably just barely on the spectrum, but being a cis female and apparently attractive (dunno, I'm not my type), I get by ok.

I come here mostly because it's all so absurd to me. Gender typical behaviour and stereotypical heterosexual interaction is something I've never really been comfortable with. Not so much the behaviours themselves, but all of the societally determined assumptions that these behaviours are based on. I met the criteria for gender identity disorder as a child, which might have something to do with how I feel about society and gender roles.

The discussions here are often interesting, sometimes informative, but mostly I'm just rubbernecking.

I come here because I'm curious on what others' world view is on such an culturally important aspect in most peoples lives (sexual relationships). The internet allows us to discuss with each other how we view things from our little pocket of the world. Do I think people spout a lot of ignorant bullshit on here? Yes, and I'm admittedly guilty of this too sometimes. But, it's still interesting to see how other people rationalize/view their ideas of the SMP we live in.

40 yo, married (16yr relationship, married for 7), 2 kids.

I'm a prototypical ENTP, the 16 personalities description may as well be my bio. As such I use PPD mainly to argue on the internet and I live perpetually on the other side of Rawls Veil of ignorance making me constantly perplexed about how people cant get past feelings to see an objective truth from all sides.

I manage a large delivery department in IT, usually circa about 80 staff.

Primary hobbies are reading non-fiction (pop-sci, politics, economics, genetics) and sci-fi (Iain M Banks, Neal Stephenson, Ken MacLeod) , arguing on the internet, and annoying my wife by being in an intellectual la-la-land.

Perennially happy. Have always smoked pot, and still do. Increasingly losing touch with "young 'uns" as all you millenials/Gen Zs look weird to Gen X me.

Music wise, big ska (Prince Buster, Toots, ReelBigFish) and classic rock (Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Hendrix, Stones, RatM) fan.

Politically far left in an odd way (Libertarian Socialist) but vote mainly down the line lefty-liberal in the UK where I live/am from.

Undergraduate degree in Economics/Software Eng... Masters in Soft Eng subject.

Working class.
