Separately - if this were a first date, I would not go to someone’s house. If it were someone I was familiar with then if I’d go to their house, I would be using their name, so makes me think super early dating. Which only needs to go wrong once

Also I love how guys think a actual dinner date at a resturant is too intimate and serious for a first date (which are all about first impressions, they are meant to 'serious') but inviting a random girl off of the internet INTO your HOME isn't.

This is a cute novelty dish that I would be delighted to be served by a friend for a casual dinner (along with hopefully something healthy!).

I would not serve this to family and I would definitely not expect this to be served on a first date - it's kiddie food. Showcase your big boy cooking and a passing familiarity with nutrition FGS. What are you going to pair it with - mountain dew?

I also would not in a million years go to someone's home for a first date; let alone during a PANDEMIC.

Yuck. I'm sorry this looks low value and like something a kid that was learning how to cook would make. Mac and cheese? What am I in 4th grade? I am by no means a chef but when I started getting my own money and even when I had a dorm I was teaching myself to cook (my mom was a loush cook, and grandma didn't let anyone help or have the patience to teach us) and even I could make a nicer dinner on a George Forman grill, microwave, and rice cooker in my dorm that had no kitchen at all. Reminds me of the time a dude online invited me to his place for the first date and offered to make me homemade fancy Mac and cheese for me. I entertained his idea asking what his recipe was before I agreed. He proudly told me that he made box mac and cheese and sprinkled some shredded cheese on it to make it "gourmet". Told him oh I get it, that's a pretty funny joke. He said he was serious. I told him that's not gourmet and no thanks. Never met up with him even pre fds I knew better.

If you are an adult, and you invite someone to your home for a dinner party, there had better be a proper meal with a set table, candles, a great playlist, and excellent cocktails and wine. Nicest “home date” I ever had that wasn’t dinner was a guy who drove to an airport in the afternoon to pick up oysters he ordered overnight from the east coast and had 3 different bottles of champagne in the fridge to suit what I might like best. Plus fois gras, great cheeses, fresh fruit. In my city, we like to eat well.

This is birthday party food for a group of six year olds.

I don’t even know what I’d say if I went to a man’s home when he invited me to dinner and presented.... this. It literally would not happen in my world. What is he serving it with, a juice box?

If my boyfriend of over a year invited me over for dinner and made this because he saw it online and wanted to try it, I would think it's cute. But that is only because I'm 21 and half the guys I know can barely fry an egg lol. Still though, for one of the first dates, this is a huge no. You shouldn't even be at his place.

In economics, macaroni and cheese is considered an inferior good. Inferior goods are goods that when income goes up, their demand goes down. They are primarily consumed by people of lower income. Which is totally fine, I love me some mac and cheese, but would it be something you cook for a woman when you're trying to impress her? No, and that's wherein the problem lies.

If you're trying to win someone over, you'd make a more elaborate meal than pasta, cheese, and kid's snacks. If he thinks goldfish will impress you, if he is even trying to impress you, that's a problem.

This is high-value material to me because some of my favorite foods are Mac n cheese and goldfish crackers. I’m a college professor and I have a very childlike appetite. I’ve tried to expand my palate to no avail.

I would prefer this meal to a home cooked meal of steak or lobster because it means that the man paid attention to what I said I liked rather than selecting an expensive food that he assumes all women like.
