This is a spin off of a comment that I made earlier, but I thought it could be an interesting topic.

I think we should define male selectivity differently. I don’t think it should be based on rate of attraction, but rather rate of approach.

The burden of initiating falls onto us dudes. Ultimately, we have to put our egos on the line and risk rejection/fucking up a perfectly workable relationship when we decide to make a move in any capacity.

So while I’m attracted to a huge number of girls, I’m only moved to actually try to initiate with girls who I truly like/feel a connection with, or girls who are a near exact match to “my type” physically.

In OLD my level of selectivity, if we define it like I proposed, goes way down, obviously, because the risk of approach is almost nothing. Whereas risk for women in OLD goes way up, since they can’t properly vet a dude.

Think of all the girls you were attracted to, but just let it slide, and nothing came of it. I actually wonder if the female perception of male selectivity is closer to my definition.
