I agree with the advice. This is a huge red flag. And I find it odd that he doesn't want to be in their lives because the mother is crazy (according to him of course). If he really cared he'd do an effort for the sake of the children and to protect them. But my bet is that he done this baby momma wrong and didn't want the OP to find out and therefore hid this for 2 years. Also him getting all angry and defensive is another huge red flag. I can also smell much older man. She needs to run fast!

Red flag 1: describing ex as crazy. I know people with legitimately crazy exes and they don't describe them that way. Red flag 2: Dating for two years and not sharing news this big. Red Flag 3: She is 24, he has 10 year olds. Either he was 14 - 16, or... I suspect he's much older than her, especially since he has children from two different relationships.

Most mothers who aren’t with their child’s fathers, where the situation didn’t end badly, are willing for the father to play a part in the child’s life, for the benefit of the child. The ONLY reason to need to exclude the father, is certainty in knowing the father will harm the child. Generally most mothers won’t give their child a lesser life to spite a father. A “crazy ex” is the default excuse men give to cover up what they did to antagonise the woman.

OP needs to read between the lines. All the signs of a classic abuse situation. His anger and gaslighting when she asks him a reasonable question. The fact the mother won’t tell them til they are 10 when they will clearly questioning before that. It makes it seem she has to say something serious to explain his absence when they are only old enough to understand.

I dated a guy who told me about his daughter, but that he doesn’t see her and doesn’t know where she is. His family are rich and well connected, but the woman said she didn’t want child support from him, just wanted him out of their life. It turned out she was worried about him sexually abusing the child, and left the country so he wouldn’t find them. Trust your gut, not your man.

My child’s father says I’m crazy and difficult. He avoids paying for his son and threatens to sue me constantly because I demand he financially support his son. Don’t forget the gaslighting and abuse while we were together and I was pregnant. I never trust a man who all he has to say is “well my ex’s are crazy and difficult”

Sweetheart, he lied to you in a really big way and that in and of itself is reason to RUN. The onus to understand why is not on you. I’m actually glad this all came out before you married him. Being tethered to a man like this will ruin your life.

I don't have children, but if I did and they had a crazy psycho father, I would never leave our kids with him and not be present in their lives. The last thing I would do is abandon them.

If the mother is sooo "crazy" then why isn't he fighting like hell to see his daughters? Why is he okay leaving them with her? Because she probably isn't that crazy and he just doesn't care. Obvs I think men have the right to know if they have a child, but she probably knew his trash ass wouldn't want to be involved. He is a bad father and lied about it for two years, so clearly a bad partner as well.

He sounds so much like a douchecanoe I dated. Had me blocked on FB so i had no idea he had two girls by one woman and a boy by a third. We broke up after 3 months because he was acting shady and he unlocked me on FB so I found out the truth from his son's mother.

Confronted him about it (he called me crazy for finding out the truth from his ex) and when I asked him why he doesn't see his daughters he said "they're getting older and they don't need me". That was the last time we spoke and I never contacted him again.

These guys are pure scum and I would love to tell these women not to waste their precious time on them. You don't get that time back.

Honestly scrap most baby daddy’s (especially younger ones). I was seeing this guy who would tell the whole shop about how his baby mama ran out on him with their baby and he was fighting for custody. Now from what everyone was telling me I was under the impression that she ran months before I started that job. Lmao. LMAOOO. She ran out a month after I started. AND HE WAS NOT ONLY PERSUING EVERY WOMAN AT THE DEALERSHIP BUT HE HAD A WHOLE ASS RELATIONSHIP AND WAS ACTIVELY DATING RIGHT AFTER SHE LEFT. Now I see why! Be careful who you have kids with, he clearly was a detached asshole and she was smart to run.
