Had a "friend" like this who told a woman he wasn't ready for a relationship. She took it well and moved on, found someone who was ready for it and started dating him. My "friend" was FUMING. Kept texting me asking me what he could do to "win her back" and if he "should stay friends with her". After a couple months of back and forth i realized nothing i said (all in the same thread as "LEAVE HER THE FUCK ALONE") was enough for him so i promptly blocked and deleted him, ending the friendship.
WHY ARE MEN.

I’m glad this woman moved on.
A girl I know has been sleeping with a guy for over half a year now and even thought she admitted she liked him he said he didn’t want to date her. That was up until his friend slid in her dms and set up outings to befriend/ start dating her- now the dude who rejected her suddenly really likes her, is asking more serious questions and asking for exclusivity. She keeps talking about how her persistence came through when it’s clear as day he just didn’t like the idea of her moving on from him. I don’t care to burst her bubble, everyone told her to move on ages ago and she refused to listen so why would that change now that she “has him” lol

So I was once really into this guy. After being indecisive and stringing me along for months (I know, I know, but it was a long time ago), I finally made him talk to me about what was going on, and he told me he wasn’t into it.
I was gutted. I cried. I cried hard for about two days. And then I started to feel better.
He checked in a few days later (I know, I know, this was way before I learned to block), and asked how I was doing. I said I was good, thanks, and asked how he was.
He actually said “Wow. You really know how to make a man feel small”.
Like WTF. This man broke my heart. I cried in front of him. He knew how badly he’d hurt me.
And yet it made him feel “small” that I was going to survive.

I had a similar experience when I was in my early 20s. We broke up, I can't remember if I cried in front of him but I remember crying at home after we split.
Felt better after like a week because as a responsible adult you deal with your emotions and move on.
He called me some time after and said he would tell his parents that we broke up and was soooo angry when my only response was "ok", telling me he had expected a more emotional impact from that..

My ex dumped me by text and then 5 days later when I was going to a military town to visit my (female) friend he texted me sniveling "it's all just hitting me now..." and he whined that I was probably going to hook up with some military guy. I saw this thread on Twitter. It was hilarious for a number of reasons.
The original writer made it clear he was playing everyone and making fun of guys who actually do this, and his point was affirmed beautifully by the comments: women thought the whole thing was hilarious and relatable, while men in the comments tried to reassure the writer as if he had a valid point to begin with.

It's about control. Society teaches men (whether they're conscious of it or not) that they're entitled to a woman. Not just a woman, but the "best" woman aka whatever suits his fancy in that moment. LVM are fickle and blow with the wind.
It's the dominant myth in pop culture, and it's everywhere. See every exhausting Hollywood movie about underfunctioning shlubs who get the supermodel, or TV shows where an ugly loser's got a hot wife who would never give him a second glance in real life.
LVM think any of this is realistic and grow up overvaluing themselves in so many ways. They deserve any woman they want, the best job, whatever. Men don't question their worth even when they're underfunctioning.
I've seen this play out many times with a guy rejecting a woman and then getting mad when she doesn't pursue him. The guy thinks he's hot shit and deserves a woman, so how dare she not want him? It's why the red pill tells men to "spin plates" and try to manipulate women to chase them. It's all about controlling women and having easy access to us without any of the work.

This has happened to me a few times. One guy I was in a situationship with for a month told me he wasn’t ready for a relationship, but he still wanted to “be friends” (hahaha). I said no and blocked him.
Before that, I had a crush on a male friend who admitted he didn’t want to even date me, but he was “willing to be FWB”. I was still a pickme then, so I stayed “friends” with him while he still flirted with me and admitted he would sleep with me if he had the chance. Thank GOD I never slept with him. He kept trying to call me to catch up and I eventually just blocked him.
