I still don't see evidence of sexism. I see a chair umpire notorious for handing out violations handing one out for something the rules clearly states is a violation, and then Serena once again berating officials when she's losing, and then the chair umpire handing out two more.

I mean, unless we're back to thinking that professional female athletes are delicate and fragile people who need special treatment in order to compete.

The stats do say that only women were penalized for coaching.

On the other hand, the stats say that for most other violations, men are penalized much more often than women.

This umpire in particular is notorious for being a harsh penalizer and that doesn't appear to change whether the person is a man or woman.

What the feminist press appears to be doing is claiming that men holding women accountable for their actions or punishing them for poor behavior is sexism and vilifying a man for doing his job. This is not inconsistent with the overall theme of mainstream feminism.

Consider the effects of this kind of power play by feminist press with their pushing of a narrative and vilifying people in a way completely counter to factual reality, again, not inconsistent with the overall behavior of the movement. The result is to impact the game in such a way that feminists hold more influence over who is an who is not a good tennis player by terrorizing the institution into compliance through social violence, libel, and so on, and to take away from women at least in some part the opportunity to succeed on their own without feminist backing or approval.

Since Serena is a feminist icon, she is being defended for poor conduct and those attempting to hold her accountable are being vilified by the feminist press and pressure is being applied for standards that benefit her above others and subject her to less scrutiny, thereby transferring power to the feminist press to pick and choose people who gain unfair advantages in the sport, and they will utilize this in the same fashion they have always used this influence, to gatekeep and put their thumb on the scale until only gynocentric misandrists dominate the field. Once again, this isn't inconsistent with the overall behavior of the movement.

Honestly, I thought it was all bullshit on her side. She probably would have lost regardless but from what I’ve read, she got violations for things that men usually do just get warnings for.

It was a crappy umpire, not any form of discrimination.

If she could have just been left to lose with warnings rather than code violations, then things would probably have been much better for both Serena and Naomi.
