So men are finding that there's no reward or incentive in rushing to get married, have kids, and are postponing adulthood because well, they can. Men are successful and independent, do not have a biological clock rushing them to settle down, and are living their life the way they see fit.

Where's the problem with this? No one criticizes the independent carefree career woman in corporate America when they eschew a family in place of a self fulfilling lifestyle. Why do so to to men when they live their life the way they want to?

Traditional families are soon becoming a thing of the past as life expectancies rise, financial hardships are abound, and social inequalities are reducing or delaying the needs to "shack up".

The only people who have a problem with this are the young women who find they can't compete for attention and by the time they do their "assets" have depreciated and no longer have the power they once did. Additionally as men do not live up to their expectations women find themselves competing against each other for the smaller pool of "ideal candidates". boo hoo.

The funny thing is that the main message in this piece is that men need to man up by working harder and getting married. Hmm, I wonder if there is any connection between how divorce laws, university admission discrimination, and explicit job discrimination (that women should be considered minorities and be given preferential status) affects these things.

While this article's motive is clearly to sell a book (to lonely/unsatisfied women specifically) it does bring up some relevant issues.

Men and boys are slipping behind in education while women have been advancing due gender based support. Overall there is a lack of support for men in educational institutions.
Men are losing ground in the professional world, some of this can be attributed to education, hiring policies, and a simple economic downturn (many companies perpetuate the "pay gap" idea by firing men to hire women at a lesser salary overall devaluing the position and saving them money. If the women complain the fire them and hire men at an even lower rate so as to head off a sexism lawsuit and devalue the position even further.)
Boys need advice and guidance to become good men and unfortunately there are a lot of confusing and misguided ideas about masculinity out there that are damaging to society. Being a man isn't about how many people you can shoot it's about responsibility, doing what is necessary even if it is tough, making sacrifices when you have to, having strength of integrity.

Of course most of these articles are designed to sell books to women and are inherently misguided offering "solutions" that just lead women to believe in an unrealistic standard so they can continue to sell more to these very lonely women reaffirming their ridiculous pop-sci beliefs.

We now have a service sector economy with very little production and as more men leave the workforce production will decrease further robbing women of the fruits of men's labor. As a male about to graduate from high school, I state that it is fairly accurate to claim the boys aren't being taught the qualities of being a man. With divorce rates continuing to rise and woman being the most common gardian in those broken families, many children don't have a father figure to teach them these things in life. One of "these things" include developing the character of "self". The school's won't do it; they're lossing more men every year. I agree with the claim that men need to man up but not to the definition of the macho man (ie fluent in Car, athletic, hunter, etc.) but to definition of a real man/ adult/ mature. Too many grown men live their lives as if they are a victim and act like, frankly, pussies. So let's man the fuck up men.

Albeit there is a bit of a men need to man up flavor to it. It is also blatantly recognizing that women are being much more thoroughly educated.

He is listing what has changed since the feminist movement and this may lead to some actual recognition for these problems. I think this is the right kind of badmouthing of men to draw more attention to our cause.

As well I think what marriage symbolizes is a great thing; the union of two people that want to start a life together; but why do they ruin it by throwing a contract with the state into that sucks the real reason to get married out of it.
