Pshhhh, I don't need a jacket for any cold weather. My natural male hormones, manly mental toughness, and masculine build protect me from the coldest of days. Hell, I go out buck naked and bathe in an icy North Dakotan lake in February just to cool off instead of turning on the A/C.

One caveat though... if I shave with a gillette razor, then, for at least the next 6 months, I have to wear a thick jacket outside when it gets below 80 degrees. Also during that period, my junk shrivels up and my voice and mannerisms become effeminate. I also have my period for each of those 6 months. The gillette-induced period phenomenon has yet to be studied. FDA is too busy with vaping issues I guess.

Had friends who did that. They did it because they were hot blooded, and they ended up finding they had major help problems, and that was why they did it. Other people who did it meant they did not care how cold it was. Met a friend's wife who was a full blooded Alaskan woman from northern Alaska when I was a teen in New Hampshire. It was 25 degrees out, wind chills in the teens, blowing snow, and she was out shoveling her driveway in a halter top, Daisy Dukes, and barefoot in Flip-flops. My step father, asked her if she was cold, she told him it was skinny dipping weather back where she grew up.

I recall when I lived in a shared house, one time we had a vacancy and had advertised for a replacement.

The doorbell rang. I got up, shrugged into my robe and stumbled down to answer it. (We'd been out partying the night before.) Opened the door, and this pleasant looking guy got kind of a blank expression on his face. I checked, but no, I was decent. Said sorry, out late, come on in and look around.

He did, looked in the front room and the kitchen, said hi to the two other house mates there, barely glanced at the spare room but said he'd be in touch and bolted out the door clearly never to return. Bit of a neat freak maybe? we wondered, and I tottered back to bed and crashed again.

It was only when I woke up again with my brain working, that I realized (a) my two friends had been playing old music hall songs on a wind-up gramophone and improvising lewd lyrics (b) the front room was more than untidy, it was littered with discarded drag from when we'd gotten home late and cheerful in the early hours, and (c) I was wearing a soutane, gifted me by a friend, and useful as a robe because it was warm and came right down to my ankles.

I often put my jacket off when taking a subway in winter (it's fucking hot in there!). I know for a fact it irritates some women, because, indeed -- I must be much stronger and healthier than her; when she'll be shaking from cold in 10 layers of clothes, I'll be comfortable in one. My coworker once noted it to me (even though not in a accusing manner) and couple of weeks ago I had that old woman look at me and make that irritated "tsk" sound. Made me feel good :)
