The implicit committment to oppose unsuccessful guy's "entitlement" ruined 99% of dating discussions related to men. People have to bitterly, uncomplainingly push the idea that you don't really need relationship with women in all sorts of ways. I think it's because they feel that if they concede that relationship are important and maybe even essential, the next step is to enslave women and distribute them to unsuccessful guys, so the mainstream discussion has to pretend that relationship is something extra and not a basic psychological need. This makes unsuccessful guys painfully frustrated and hopeless, but well, at least noone is "entitled".

You struggle with relationships? Have you tied hobbies? Have you tried platonic friends? Have you tied walking upside down? Relationship? What about relationship? You don't need relationship? You don't have a problem with relationship, you have a problem with thinking that you need relationship. Nowhere here do you actually get any help with actually getting a relationship. So what's left? Either variations of "just be yourself" or "pay me $5000 for coaching". Well at least people accepted that you need to looksmax

Yeah maybe if you have a fulfilling life it's easier to get a woman, there's also no way to get rid of the baseline stress from failing at something as essential to biological existence as finding a partner

The gender difference in the UCSB survey regarding wanting to have children is a real eye opener.

Arguments are that women change their minds later in life and want children. Is there any data to this?

In anycase it's pretty weak for a woman to argue that she wants children after she's lost peak SMV and has had many sexual relationships where she didn't want children.

Seems to me, men really need to ask early and ask often if a woman wants children, when dating 18-23 year olds.

This will likely solve current dating issues.

Do y'all think Stavros Halkias is a good example of the energy that unattractive men should be aiming for? Dude is pretty far from what I would call "genetically blessed" yet I have no doubt that he does better with women than many better-looking guys, and would likely do so even if he weren't a stand-up comedian.

And for the record, I don't make this type of judgement lightly. I'm usually rather looks-ist and have never really believed in the trope of the "ugly guy who slays". But I'm finding it hard to deny Stavros's potential as a rare counter-example. Is this achievable for "normal" ugly dudes? Does it help that Stavros leans into his unattractiveness with awkward style/grooming? Or does he only have these things working in his favor because he's a professional comedian?

My recent hypothesis about the bear situation got 427 comments in just 8 hours. The premise of the post was that women responding "bear" were making a statement about the dangers of men, rather than for it to be taken literally. This upset many people. To help understand the situation for both sides, I have devised a mirrored version of the thought experiment for men to respond to.

Imagine you had to be stuck in an elevator for 24 hours, with no functional cameras. Would you choose to be with a woman or a giant cockroach?

I have anxiety and some treated, past depression, nothing bad. I am average looking, and I have self-esteem issues.
I already had relationships, that lasted between 2 days and 7 years
I think feminism and women's rights are good, important and valuable, including right to abortion and women being independent.

yet:

I feel like women don't benefit from a relationship, or they don't really want one as much as men do (for many valid reasons)
I feel like I have trouble finding dates
I don't approach women in public because it's weird (and also because of fear rejection)
I feel like women are more pickier than men and have higher standards
I feel like women don't really take initiative in dating, and are more passive than men.
On online dating:
- I never do anything that would be seen as clingy, creepy or needy,
- I send as many message as the other person does,
- I leave space so a woman can express interest and if she doesn't, I don't show too much interest.
- I do this to increase my chances, but I feel like it's counter-productive.

I have the feeling that some of those things would make me an incel, yet incel is defined by misogyny, nihilism, entitlement to sex and many other traits that I disagree with (cf wikipedia). So generally, I disagree with being called an incel, yet I agree that it's more difficult to date when you are a man.

Is there a middle ground? What would that middle ground be called?

Am I wrong that women don't initiate and pursue in general, or is it just me whom they don't pursue? Do women initiate as much, but only towards a very small minority of men, or is me being biased?

Could it be said that women are generally less interested in having a relationship, short or long?

Even though most of what incels are saying is wrong, do I seem to share some views with them?

Why do I feel that those arguments have been "appropriated" by incels, or do anti-incel associate those arguments with incel narratives in an inappropriate way? A broken clock is right twice a day, but nobody says that telling the time is a political statement.

If you have any links or reading about that, that would be good (as long as it's substantive, and moderate enough)

Have any of you ever dealt with people from years ago still watching you, and or understand the behaviour?

I posted some public snaps on my story, and people from years ago, ex-friends 2 of them, popped in my public story views. This chick betrayed me terribly, and was one of the big factors on why I got betrayed by my group of friends. It’s been 4-5 years now, so seeing her watching all of them (I posted like 7 stories) was odd. Same with the ex-guy friend, we were so close but he picked their side.

These people also back then played games to get back at me, and I ended up deleting all of them, I noticed on Snap though both of them never unadded.

She didn’t watch the previous stories the other day, so it makes me wonder if they’re just talking amongst each other. You hate me? Why are you watching me?

Then there is my ex, who I walked away from who now has a GF, literally watches every single one of my stories I don’t understand why and never bothered to unadd my profile, although my ex admitted to being obsessive and jealous.

What is point of this behaviour?

It's odd how often women respond to men avoiding women based on lifestyle choices like being overweight or high N by attacking men for being short or balding. Nobody chooses the latter shit, men would do everything in their power to not be short or balding and get more women, but it's nature's call, critcizing them over it doesn't accomplish anything. lol

The whole bear discourse from boys here has been too funny to watch.

Every single poster who has been upset the bear was chosen has said some horrible stuff about women in the comments/posts.

The moment something unflattering is said about men, they go off and cry and whine and moan about it.

They act all big and tough, "women are lying sluts", but can't take the heat when the tables are turned.

It's been a delight to observe.
