I take issue with this, because while yes, he 100% can be a simp - i think hand waving it to “these are the only women who will tolerate them” ignore the potential mental issues involved with the guy + how growing up around toxicity or actively being surrounded by it breeds it.

For example, loads of men who grew up with narcissistic or toxic mothers tend to see this narcissism as “at home” or “normal”, this constant on edge state is the norm for them so they seek it out. There is also the aspect of settling due to low self worth/low self esteem, believing that these are the only women they’re worthy of having. Of course, it is up to the individual (man or woman) to seek help for their issues, but hand waving it as “they’re simps cause these are the only women who tolerate it” reads a lot like “women just need to make better choices and pick better men”

I think when men throw themselves really early at a woman. Like wall to wall texts. Constantly messaging. Trying to do things for me early on in dating. It comes off as a huge red flag. I'm a stranger. You are getting to know me. It just comes off as needy and desperate or you have nothing else in your life. Or you are very narcissistic and it's lovebombing and this is a front to drop my guard. So then the behavior can shift once you feel like you don't need to those things anymore.

I can see certain types women taking full advantage of a man's desperateness. Whether for validation or money. What have you. And leaves the guys where they started. Because they threw that much out that soon or it's a disguise. And desperation and neediness is just not cute. I don't want to be your girl because I was the only girl to talk to you. And now you can project all your fantasies on to me.

A good relationship is about a gradual mesh of both of you gradually seeing your compatibilities and if you are a good match for one another and it becomes a seamless transition finding your equal and someone who clicks. Not a sudden BAM here I am what do you need baby?! Money I got you. Validation "you're so beautiful I can't get enough of you!" Dates I can give you all the dates. Time oh I have all the time to give to you. Like whoa tone it down bud.

And yes, its true. I have said it a million times but former simps turn redpillers largely chase attractive/coventionally attractive women who are not only pretty but adhere to all the social norms of physically attractive women. Thats not to say there aren't plenty of nice, pretty women but simps not only target women of a certain physical appeal but they'll then start projecting onto her personality traits or behaviours she doesn't actually have.

This is wrong. And it treats society as if its monolith. Anyone with any media literacy would know mainstream entertainment media and Hollywood is centre left leaning. For years, critics of hacks like Kennedy (though funnily enough I never actually thought the last jedi was that bad) Heard and the Snow White Actress were treated as basement dwelling incels. Its only since the post covid box office reckoning and Heard's case with Depp has there been a shift. The default is very much that women are mostly wonderful and should always be believed.

Also, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, even in children’s media is there evil women in it.

Lets examine these.

Cinderella: A wicked stepmother and two evil sisters. The former is evil because she's old, the latter because they're ugly.

Snow White: An aging queen whose driven madly jealous over a younger, fairer maiden.

Sleeping Beauty: An old evil witch who poisons a beautiful princess who is only awoken after "true loves kiss".

There's actually a pattern here, many of these stories attribute some kind of purity to youth and beauty. Is it any surprise that simps end up chasing attractive women and trying to appease them through acts of "good will" in the hopes of being nice enough to get in their underwear? Thats exactly what they were taught.

As someone who's a convoluted melange of anti-social dark triad and codependency, I don't see how thz latter is so bad it can mean you just come from a normal family as opposed to what appears as scandinavian distancing. When you lack affectionateness to you it might be ethnic-cultural. This isn't weakness with many women just probably usa-based. Not the warmest culture with feminine women. If she's not overly narcissistic but codependent would refrain from using labels it's not very polite to stigmatize people as a surface with a label attached to but also not truthful.

you are not taking into account that women are not held accountable anywhere for bad behavior in media or real life. male simpiness comes from women constantly saying they want feminine men, lacking a strong father figure and the mother telling their sons to simp for women and always side with women not matter what, and the demonization and pathologization of masculinity and maleness in media / society. women actively raised those simpy men into simpy men.
