Often when the question of why so many men are single/lonely/sad/etc, it often comes down to (those) men not being social enough. They don't have friends, they don't have hobbies, they don't meet people. Where does this assumption come from? I ask, because as a basically perpetually single man, I have all of the above. It's great, I have friends, I go out and hang out with people, I have a wonderful time. But it doesn't help my romantic/sexual life at all

But why then make the assumption that a perpetually single man must be a loner?
