A world where everyone has someone they can be happy with. In said world, humans wouldn't value each other based on financial or social status, but by how they make them feel as an individual. In said world, somehow everyone would know that in the future at some point they will find love. Not having someone now would matter much less if you knew someday it was a given you would find your person.

Men would listen to women rant for hours and women would do the same for men. As it stands now that's not the case at all.

Men would remember the little things that make their women comfortable and happy on the daily, and women would do the same for men.

People wouldn't cheat on each other, instead if they catch feelings or get horny they would simply recognize the feeling and remove themselves from the situation (because hurting their partner is much worse than indulging in the short term buzz).

Men and women would date a few times before sex. A first kiss is a big moment in this world, and the slow build up of touch over a few times meeting is more common than sex first.

Dating multiple people wouldn't be a thing.

Agreeing to a first date with someone would mean you now won't go out with someone else until you're done with this person.

Women would want to date men who are their equal in height.

Women would feel repulsed at the idea of wanting to feel like a "little girl" and aiming for a much taller guy to get it.

Men would want their woman to orgasm before they do, and do the work necessary for it to happen.

Men would love foreplay.

Pairbonding would be a much more closely studied and discussed concept than it is in this world.

Men would be given way more empathy for their struggles with lack of sex and affection. Women ideally would commiserate with them instead of trashing them. This does not mean pity fucks or sex in general. It means attention and a hug.

Rape doesn't exist here. The idea of raping a woman repulses all men. The idea of raping a man repulses all women.

Children are not part of sex in this world.

The only sexual experience a child has in this world is fleeting experiences with other children of the same age (playing doctor).

Leagues wouldn't exist.

Also in said ideal world people would let each other be flawed without labelling them with therapy speak. Humans are trying way too hard to identify and eliminate flaws from one an other and it's making relationships into minefields of therapist induced battles.

Basically how it is now, but with better communication and fewer consent violations. It would also be good for men to raise their standards, as opposed to women lowering them.

I enjoy having my freedom to choose a partner. I like that being in a relationship is optional. I think it is cool that people have different relationship arrangements depending on their needs and desires. I suppose I would encourage people to meet more irl (in general too) and not to rely on the apps. Makes for a better story for the hypothetical grandkids too.

People aren't forced to conform to specific gendered ideas about how dating "should" be.
Dating isn't paramount in society. Those who can't or don't want to date are given grace and dignity and aren't shamed.
The point above is in conjunction with not having dating be the only worthwhile source of intimacy. Validation in life isn't sourced solely from sexual/romantic success. Freer love and intimacy is necessary, and people deserve to feel wanted and needed in society. You can't force relationships, but friendships and camaraderie are a lot less stringent.

Get rid of all risk for sexual and physical violence, particularly from men.

No one would ever want or initiate patriarchal dynamics in a relationship either.

Never shame for men being more feminine or women being more masculine. Hell, maybe even get rid of those concepts entirely and just see it as individual styles, personalities, and preferences.

Get rid of all prejudices that lead to people excluding people from their dating pool who belong to marginalized communities.

Honestly trying to keep it focused on dating but I feel like in a world similar to somewhere in the past 10-15 so a world where the cost of living wasn’t so high, covid didn’t happen and where people feel optimistic about planning for the future, the idea of kids isn’t scary to them when its purely for economic reasons. People have more money in their pocket everymonth and activities are not so expensive so people are less online in the house and are outside for more than just work. If it was so I think people would have an easier time meeting people not just romantic interests but friends and networking too.

People would understand consent, more people would work on their self-esteem and set the boundaries they need to. People would learn how to communicate more effectively about their intentions when dating and also about their problems in relationships.

As of now, most insist everyone should have a personality compatible with them so they have easier time picking rather than look for it. Obviously, it isn't going to work because either you force everyone to have your preferred personality or them forcing you to have their preference.

The ideal world already exists. Because my ideal is to take things as they are. This includes, that some people understand how things work and can therefore better get their interests met, and others stumble along blindly, or want to change things to get their interests met. Some of them are successful with that, some are not. This is all fine. There are many ways to success and many different ways success is defined. We all have slightly different goals, different strategies to get there and different setups and abilities to allow us to be better or worse at following through with those strategies. Luck is fine. Culture is just an outgrowth of the individual interests and different levels of power within interests groups.

People are, on average, as picky as they can afford. That there exists outliers who are way too picky or way to lenient with their standards is part of natural variability and in some cases this pays out and in others not. High risk, high reward is a viable strategy. Complaining that high risk did result in failure is stupid, but also understandable. Whenever people fail with high risk strategies, they turn to the public to get rescued/helped. And people with low risk strategies keep complaining that their reward is not as high as other people's. All of that is fine and doesn't mean anything needs to get changed.

We all just keep following our interests.

Postgenderism. By this I mean a society wherein a wide variety of different performed identities exist along many different spectra, where each individual gets to choose how they present themselves without their choice being reduced into one of two archetypes according to which they are summarily treated. Everyone determines their own unique identity and chooses their way of presenting it.

Then we all go out into the world and meet people in a more socially cohesive society with greater social trust and community. We interact with other people and discover other individuals whose identities intrigue us, and develop unique sorts of relationships with them accordingly. Think of it as forming collaborations (fleeting or permanent, loose or inseparable) between our individual projects of identity.

Now of course, this is mostly just an ideal. There are always going to be people who define themselves in accordance with strict archetypes and search for some socially or biologically derived preset, to give them predefined roles to play and aesthetics to emulate. And there are also those who already do cultivate their own unique form of gender expression, whether they associate under the umbrella of male, female or neither. But I think the use of holding the ideal regardless is that it encourages us to keep rolling back norms and institutions that attempt to force unwanted identities or gender expectations onto people who don't resonate with them.

I don't have an interest in controlling dating behaviour. Dating has little to no social externalities; there's no need to influence the outcomes.

An ideal dating world is a completely free market. The only issues with dating today are those which impede that market.

Describe the entire thing from scratch and avoid comparisons with what already is.

That's a useless venture since the current dating world is quite close to perfect already. What needs to be changed are few degrees on a few knobs, not an entirely new system.

The main differences would be an elimination of any kind of violence, and an elimination of bad faith actors that impede the oerfect knowledge required of a free market.

I think an ideal dating world would be a trickle down effect, but it relies on men to not be desperate.

Basically every time men fuck downwards, it creates a vacuum in the dating market:

Man fucks down
Woman gets an ego from the men fucking down for her
Woman's looksmatch has to simp harder to compensate for her getting with better men
Process gets repeated over and over and the market shifts

Which is basically what we have today and why everyone is so salty about dating. It entirely hinges on male desperation, if that were to change then the market would heal.

Men would display toxic masculinity. Women would be trying to be sexually attractive to partner up

All incentives like child support and spousal support agtet divorce and etc would be abolished

Women would still be free to make their own decisions and choices in men

Men would no longer be obligated to be fathers or stay in relationships or provide or anything

And in this situation. Everyone will just figure it out. If women don’t want men or to have children. They won’t. And the ones that will. Will.

And prostitution will be legal. And benevolent sexism will be legal. And male sexuality will be tolerated

And in the process men will just flock to sexually attractive and sexually active women.

And this will help the economy among other things

But the world will be hyper competitive

Especially because women can still work and be free and etc and won’t need men.

It will be more difficult to be with women. But at the same time. It will be better. Because there will be more attractive women. It will be of on steroids.

It’s kind of like how it is now. Without all the failsafes for women and incentives.

- Strict monogamy society on one side.

- Another side that doesn't care about all that, can stay far away on the other side.

- 'Cheating' would result in a 10 year prison sentence, no buts or ifs.

- False 'MeToo' accusations also gets you a 50 year prison sentence. (For potentially ruining the life of an innocent men till the day he dies).

-Abolishing Wedding/Divorce laws that favors one sex over the over (We are all equal now right)? Yet funny how liberals seem to post pone and close their eyes to that fact.

At this point, I want a tamer version of 'Islamic' laws, without all the violence that comes with it.
