I agree with you. I've been working out for around 18 months and I get noticeably different reactions from girls. I get much more eye contacts and smiles from girls and often they'll smile while trying not to directly look at me.

About three months ago I switched to eating clean and working out 4 times a week. My mood has completely changed (in a good way), been more open to new things, and friendships have been more positive as well as I have been gaining more friends.

I used to go into dates with the idea that I have to prove myself, now I go in with the mindset they have to prove themselves to me. I have always known this but never been able to actually do it until now. It’s great!

One other thing I have done is listen to this mindfulness meditation while going to sleep.

Also drink LOTS of water!

Women should take this same advice. If you have a half decent face but a fit body that is someone I can date. If you have a hot face but your body is loose, no muscle or definition, I’ll pass on her every time. If you are single, you should be focusing your efforts on diet, exercise, and fashion. Goes both ways. Especially the other way. A woman’s looks is number 1 to us (if we’re not broken). But yet, every time I go to the gym, there are 10-15 men for every 1 woman lifting weights.

I can tell you as someone who's 6'5, good facial structure and an advanced lifter strength and physique wise, looks only get your foot in the door at best. I've been with enough women at this point to know it's way more about how you carry yourself and your status (money or friends), rather than how you look. Plus I have multiple friends who are in the 5'5-5'7 range and don't lift, who far better because of intrinsic factors and sexual charisma. Hence why there are a lot of below average looking dudes with the 9s and 10s and a lot of good looking guys struggling to get any girls, often times having to resort to 6s or 7s when they're 9s on the looks scale. Go to the gym to improve your physique for you and your strength numbers if interested in that. If not, then a lot of men will be greatly disappointed that women generally won't care about how much you lift or your looks. Thats only a small factor in the grand scheme of things, like maybe 10-15% for most women

Quit sugar. It multiplies the effects of fats you eat. It's in most processed foods. Starch and alcohol are sugar.

Doc said I had diabeties. I controlled my sugar. Thirty pounds and three years later doc says I no longer have diabetes.

How fit is the threshold for you for a man to be attractive? Does he need to have a six pack, sub 10 percent body fat? Does he still need to be good looking? What if he is ripped and muscular but has a head like a kicked in cottage pie? What about height, hair, complexion etc. I always wanted to hear a woman's honest opinion on this. I realise what you say will not be true for all women.

I’d say what’s really important when lifting is having a goal in mind. If you don’t know why you’re doing it for yourself, then you won’t want to do it. My goal was to get abs. I got down to 14% body fat and still had a huge gut. Currently trying to reach that goal again.

The vast majority of men, here or otherwise, would significantly increase their success if they spent more time eating right and working out.

Taking care of oneself is important.

That said, seduction is a social interaction between (at least) two people. And three things play a major role in how well it goes.

Confidence to initiate social interactions (or to conduct oneself within social interactions).
Active listening and paying attention. Information is power and one can't hold up their end of the conversation if they're not listening to what the other person is saying. Paying attention also gives one plenty to talk about.
Calibration/adaptation. One needs to be able to make adjustments to a changing situation like a social interaction.

Having a six-pack and eating right don't help with these key things.

There are plenty of guys who have posted here over the last 10 years about how they have swole bodies, six packs, the whole nine yards, and still suck at getting dates.

So while having one's fitness in order is good, it is not nearly sufficient to increase game.

Advice like this misleads people and leads to a lot of frustration and anger down the line when they get fit in nothing changes unless they also changed their inner game and improved their confidence, active listening, and calibration along the way.

Stupid post, while i understand ur point i guess that generalizing it, its super wrong, it all depends on what every girl likes and whats important to them, Im my eyes working out and having a nice body wont make you a good match if u cant keep a convo and u are a shitty arrogant person and from experience i can tell you that to most girls being a muscular guy with a great body will actually make them look away from you, women dont like a guy that makes them feel insecure and i talked about that with a copule of them, i think it all depends on what the person on the other side likes, working out wont get you more women trust me and the ones you get with it are as shallow as what they value, focus on being confident instead and stop simping, show them that pussypower has no power in you

Finally a real and true advice. I’m definitely still working on my diet gym recently opened so I’m starting to finally get my looks. The only bad thing is my face it’s pretty average however I will want to get a nose operation cause I think that’s the ugliest part, the rest is fine.

I have to disagree, i am in good shape myself, but i think other factors like being social and charismatic, cold approaching and being confident are more Important. Looks certainly help a lot, but there are more important things than going to the gym, to work on for most guys.

Case in point: am an Asian male. That comes with a list of drawbacks that cannot be fixed with physical self improvement.

Without a doubt. 1.5 years ago I started eating super healthy, working out (honestly too much), lost 50 lbs of fat and gained a ton of muscle. I have much, much better interactions with women I’m interested in now.

Okay let me get things straight.

First of all, I agree, health is super important.

The thing is though that it's something you should do for YOURSELF anyway, not to get dating success.

If this serves as an extra motivation that's fine, it can be helpful.

HOWEVER.

I can tell you from personal experience that if you are scared to talk to girls and/or are socially awkward...

Then simply getting into shape is not going to solve this internal problem.

Yes it is ideal to make the most of your looks.

But when it comes to dating, the most important things are the internal mindsets, your vibe and energy.

So yes, I encourage everyone to go out and get healthy.

BUT don't expect that to solve your issues in dating.

While its certainly beneficial for dating and for the person going to the gym its not mandatory to get a girl. There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing chubby guys picking up beautiful girls because they have good self confidence, charisma and good self esteem.

I started going to the gym last year and im going 5 times a week on average and its the best gift I have given myself.

I have dated girls that explicitly says that they don't want a fit guy because they want a smart guy that doesn't focus on his appearance because they see it as non manly.

TL;DR: go to the gym its definitely worth it but know that a fit body is definitely not the most important aspect of a man.

This is only OK advice.. many coaches and dogmatic "Game Purists" will disagree.

However what I think is that 2 easy wins for finding quick success in pick up are:

Get a make over (haircut and clothes)
Join a gym (Weight lifting, Yoga, BJJ, Judo, Boxing, MMA, any really)

As for my success, if I started bodybuilding it wouldn't make me happy, because that is external, and happiness comes for me from internal acceptance of who I am. So for me I would probably join a BBJ or Yoga gym.

Finally, If you can attribute your success to the external value of being a bodybuilder, I would worry about the potential artificiality of your relationship.

I actually came to r/seduction to look into this very topic. I started getting back into shape recently and at the same time starting dating someone who I thought was into my physique.

It turns out that they're much more into the dad-bod vibe and that I am a little more "cut" for their taste, although I only go to the gym a few times a week - mainly to decompress because I am in graduate school and it's been incredibly stressful lately. I'd say I'm tone, but definitely not like a 6-pack kind of guy or have that kind of attitude. At the same time that they point out how much they like my biceps and how strong I am - especially during sex - they tend to scrutinize me whenever I mention going to the gym, suggesting that it is very conceited. They always remind me, too, that "a man that can eat is super sexy," suggesting that my diet is very unattractive, although I eat an incredible amount of food for someone my size. I know this because across friends and family, I am always known as the one forever hungry, going back for 3rds or 4ths, and them often wondering where I put all of it.

I've been frustrated with this situation for two reasons: 1) I've been proud of the progress I've made exercising and am in the best shape I've been in in a long time and 2) I find this person incredibly attractive and would change absolutely nothing about them, but can't help but feel that there is a lot they would want to change about me - particularly things that I'm not interested in being. They even said with such earnestness tonight "you wish you had a dad-bod." I really, really don't, but the way that they said it definitely sounded like they wish I had a dad bod. Low key kind of didn't feel good to hear that - I really like how I look and feel now!

Any comments or thoughts on this situation?
