This is great! I do kind of the same thing on dating apps. No endless texting. I ask them to call me and most of them do. That makes it so much more personal.

The thing that makes this work is, it shows ANY action. Every guy on every dating app is a frickin' coward, afraid to make a move, always "chatting" to use your word, and doing far too much of it. Simply having taken ANY step at all shows a girl that you might actually be serious and not just another time waster in the long parade of time wasters.

Something I would change about your message

“No hard feelings if you’re not down for it.”

If you think you’re a catch, you never say something like this because of course people are always down to see you. You’re already planting doubt in their mind, or you’re you’re conveying the possibility that they wouldn’t be interested.

Instead I would recommend saying that you would love to catch a drink with them and get to know them, so contact you. If they don’t, then they don’t.

I made a post about doing this exact thing at the start of quarantine, here's why sending a voice message is so effective:

-Texting/ messaging should be used only for setting up dates and flirting/ keeping things exciting until the date. Unless your text game is rock solid, it is very difficult to keep things exciting and fresh over text though

-Sending a short voice message makes you stand out from the 15 other guys that are flooding her with the same exact messages

-Instead of her filling in the blank with her past experiences with guys she's met, you are putting your own voice and personality to the person she's been messaging to better distinguish yourself

-Unlike a phone call, it's incredibly low pressure while still being very thoughtful and showing initiative.

Ex.: "Hey you. I'm not much of a texter, but I thought I'd say hi while I'm running some errands. Hope you've been having a good week so far [mention/ ask about something she's brought up before, common interests, etc. keep it brief though] Anyway, I'm not gonna leave you a 30 minute message, but if you want to give me a call sometime, i'd love that. Or we could play voice message tag and send me one soon. Talk to you soon!"

I've done something similar to this. I regularly post attractive stories of myself on social media of doing something interesting. I've had girls who dropped out of contact message me to hook up and they did too. Only issue with this method is you have to be attractive.
