I kind of laughed at that comment as well. It was a way to win the argument, but it didn't seem straight from the heart =P

Better if you realize her act is sourced from insecurities and care for them rather than turn it confrontational, my 2 cents.
Play it from the frame "I realize you think you need to be confrontational with men / strangers, but I'm different and you can relax around me"

If you have the patience for it. Sometimes you're just plain old tired of their shit. Like PK said, there are many other woman who will be fun to talk to and spend time with who don't have these psychological boundaries and defenses in place. PK made the decision that what she had to offer underneath wasn't worth the care he would have to invest.
She may have wanted PK to invest in her, and when he chose not to she soon became really confrontational. I see absolutely nothing of value lost, and good for him for putting his foot down.

I wasn't there, so it's hard to know what really happened. But it seems to me OP's mindset twisted the situation completely against himself.
What I saw happen was a girl walk up to a guy, open him (great sign), and he responds with a fairly weak line. "I am the trash guy..." It just isn't that great of a line. It's stock, and it doesn't really show any creativity or express any personality unique to the OP. So she wasn't impressed, and her response was not to reply. She didn't insult him. She just didn't feel the need to placate him by pretending to like it.
Up to this point nothing has gone irreversibly wrong. But then, OP responds defensively. Instead of letting this roll off him like water off a duck's back, he feels the need to defend himself. He presses forward with a line he feels inside has failed. That's try-hard. Conversation, flirting, human interaction is about finding something to connect with. You tune yourself into that fun vibe, and if something you say doesn't hit, you try something else. If the girl isn't responding well, maybe it's not because the girl's a bitch, maybe it's because you're not being successful at drawing her into that connection.
Being defensive and angry like this only hurts you. It puts you in a negative state, drives away the people around you (not just her), and contributes to a bad vibe at the party, and nobody wants to be that guy. I see a lot of bitterness and defensiveness on this thread, and it's so, so self-defeating.
Yeah, so she responded with a negative reaction. What he did was to magnify and reinforce that negative frame, and before he knew it he got trapped in it. The whole thing could have been avoided if he had been the positive guy, the guy that everybody likes.
This is really basic stuff actually. Attractive, confident girls test people. It's inevitable that this will happen. They have lots of quality people in their lives already, and they have to have standards or they will get swarmed. The first step in 9s and 10s game is to prove you can hang with them without being insecure. OP failed. His attraction game wasn't good enough.
What people don't realize is that this is all just a front. As soon as you step into their inner circle, you find out a lot of these girls are really nice people. They don't treat their friends like shit or act like bitches once they know you. Realize that you're a stranger and she's trying to decide whether she wants you in her life. If she gives the wrong signals to a guy, they will call and call and call. It's an expensive and even potentially dangerous mistake (my sister was nice to a random guy once and was rewarded with a stalker). So instead of thinking of girls as bitches, be that guy who never gets thrown, who doesn't take anything personally. Persist, be a confident, genuine, quality guy, and once you get over the wall you're home free. If you know what you're doing it takes 5-10 minutes.
[–]libertas 16 points17 points18 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Ok, so what would I have said after that first line?
"I am the trash guy..."
silence
"Hey, what do you have against trash men? When I was a kid I always thought riding around on the back of a truck looked awesome." Unperturbed smile
Playful challenge. Gives her something to work with.
OP actually had the right idea. But instead of being the man, he got shook. She sensed it, and it was straight into negativetown from there.
[–]Waitwhatwtf 3 points4 points5 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would've found someone else to have a conversation with; whether you want to stand there or not is your call. You're at a party to have fun with people, not take over Trebek's job on Jeopardy.
Considering what libertas said, disregarding what libertas said; either way you gave her a response (how ever valid/clever it is) and she chose to not respond to it. As far as I see it, that's the end of the conversation, and there are plenty of people to share your time with that want to have fun.
[–]YouMakeIt 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I think that's part of the issue with this girl. She didn't just incidentally shake him. It seemed she was going for it intentionally in multiple interactions.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's what she was doing. It didn't matter what I said. I could sit here all day analyzing what to say for the rest of my life.. the point was that she was systematically taking guys apart. I was just next on the list.
The silence wasn't the end of the conversation. She maintained eye contact.

This is the right thing to do. Don't turn confrontational. I bet she has her guard up because she is sick of stupid boys and their game. Instead of doing things that make her keep her guard up, you should make it easy for her to let her guard down.
A side note: from what I've seen, some girls with this attitude in bars/clubs are really cool girls. They just don't like wasting time with boys hitting on them, and are looking for something real. If you can be real, you'll be better off.
[–][deleted] 25 points26 points27 points 14 years ago (32 children) | Copy Link
Thanks. I know I turned it confrontational. I'm perhaps bitter. But I gamed a lot of chicks that night and it went well. My question is- to game, or not to game? She had just such a shit attitude I didn't even want to game her.
I feel a little like I've taken a play out of roosh's handbook, but I didn't let this one slide.
[–]Taylor_Swiftblade 10 points11 points12 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You don't have to be friends with everyone just like as an alpha you don't have to have sex with everyone. It's fine to be selective as long as you don't get carried away with it, and it sounds like you shouldn't ever have that kind of problem.
[–]roadfish 15 points16 points17 points 14 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
puaCurveBall has a great approach. Instead of being frustrated, be a ninja about it. I like it.
On the other hand I'm in the same boat as you. Fuck that bitch. Unless I really liked her and really wanted to have sex with her, I'd have been suave about it. But I'm like you, fuck these bitches, there are plenty of women out there to game. A chick like that needs to be put in her place and I think you did it right. Not to mention, I really think the next time you see her you might have her in the bag.
Same happened to me two weekends ago. Bartender I was introduced to, who was a friend of a friend. End of the night I paid my tab with a large bill. The girl tried to keep the change for herself, thinking I'd cave in cause she's cute. I put her in her place, took my money and tipped the male bartender who was actually pouring my drinks. Next day she sends me an email, apologizing and looking forward to see me again.
[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]FrasierandNiles 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Bartender you say? Now, I understand why this particular chic, who works in a bar, I have started talking to on OKCupid (sorry not a gamer here) is acting all weird about meeting up. She says she is interested but she doesn't have time. She replies to my messages once in a while, and tells me that there are a lot of people she is talking to, but she definitely wants to meet me. She cancelled one plan with me. I told her, I initiated from my end, it is up to her now to follow up. I wonder if that works.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If you leave it in her boat, she probably won't reply. Girls are a hot commodity on OKCupid, and they know it.
I think sites like OKCupid really pander to women's egos and so you'll have HB3's thinking they're the hottest shit ever because they get a couple messages that they ignored.
Ultimately it'll screw with your game. I don't recommend dating sites.

North Boston you say, How tall is this girl? Might her name start with an "e"?
I went to college with this girl almost as tall as I am, 6'3, who "tried" to be alpha with the same technique that the girl you met, to the tee. It basically became, after many alpha-alpha conversations, that it was like running through a minefield, eventually you will step in some shit.
Can't lie, it turned me on with her being aggressive but maybe got old after she wouldn't back down when me and her were hanging out. Serious insecurities though.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't see that. If this were the only woman he interacted with that evening, it might've been one thing. However, he made a decision that he didn't want to go home with her. He tried to be playful and fun despite that but she ended up getting belligerent. When he had had enough of it, he told her off. Don't see the misogyny you're detailing here.

From my experience, that is not the case. Its a nice thing to believe that under a different context that the girl could reveal a better attitude. However, there are girls out there that go to bars and clubs to shoot guys down, they do that and brag to their friends. It happens, it doesn't matter about the guy.
He made the effort to go out and introduce himself to her. She wasn't very fun, and tried to take it out on him. [She judged him to be "undesirable" to the point of being cross with him]. Why would anyone choose to be around someone with that kind of behavior? Despite the marketing materials, you can't seduce every woman [nor would you want to].
My point exactly & something that Op did not acheive in this instance.
If you read, then you would know that the OP didn't want to even "achieve" that.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
This woman was being a bitchy cunt, and he responded in kind. That makes him a misogynist? Or was it the standing up for himself that makes him a misogynist? Or maybe it was the fact that he decided that she wasn't worth it?
[–]MonkeySteriods 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
What you're talking about is "theory". All feminist theory amounts to is a bunch of women [and a few guys] had opinions on something before. There is no factual basis to back it or the tone it attempts to set up.
When you talk about sexual objectification, next you're going to tell me the male lab rat is misogynistic because it sees the female lab rat as something to be bred.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There is some validity to feminist theory, but when it's at a point where people are shouting, "THAT MAN IS (CONSENSUALLY) FOLLOWING HIS BIOLOGICAL IMPERATIVE, THE OBJECTIFICATION!!1!1!!", then.... lol.
No offense champ, but you can have fun with your feminist ideals, I'm gonna go fuck that waitress
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You're damn right I'm going to objectify the shit out of a stranger. You must be FUCKING kidding me if you think you can truly humanize a complete stranger.
And you are COMPLETELY KIDDING YOURSELF if you think that women don't objectify men as well.
Get your head out of your pseudo-intellectual ass.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The feminism would be more appropriate if women took the time to get to know us before rejecting us... but they don't. They objectify us too. In fact... the only reason I've turned to PUA is because of the way women objectify men. I tried the nice-guy approach. Guess what.. it doesn't work.
[–]thetinguy -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Bingo!!! I was going to say, this is exactly what Roosh would've done, in fact I'm not sure he could've even been so smooth with it as you were, the way you handled it was fucking superb, sir. Seriously, I give you a hearty round of applause.
[–]The_Norwegian 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Hell, if she comes off as a bitch straight away, or you've just got a bad feeling about her (a bad vibe, so to speak), why should you even bother trying to game her? You could perhaps learn something, but personally, I'd much rather talk to and pick up someone I enjoyed talking to.
You handled her well, but if it happens again you've got to ask yourself - is it worth it? Would it be easier to just ignore her?
[–]n0ggy 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I know that it's a little off-topic that he doesn't try to turn this into seduction but if a girl is clearly a bitch (I'm not talking about the bitch shield, I'm talking about REALLY being a bitch) I don't see any reason why he would want to seduce her.
I don't see the point on trying to hit on a girl just to "score" if she's an asshole.
[–]puaCurveBall 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
In many cases being a bitch is a defense mechanism, it doesn't mean she isn't (or is) a quality person underneath.
If you don't want to try to move past that defense mechanism then don't... I'm just pointing out that is probably what it is rather than meaning she has a shitty personality.
[–]n0ggy 7 points8 points9 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Except that in that case it wasn't a defense mechanism (Bitch Shield) but rather a "Bitch Sword" since she's the one coming up to him only to insult him.
I totally get that /r/seduction encourages people to get past self-defense mechanism to discover one's inner personality but sometimes people who are being assholes just deserve to be left alone.
She's not being a bitch to avoid being hit on by tons of guys in a crowded bar, she's at a house party, just being a bitch because she's bored.
I can handle a fair amount of "bitch shield" but too much and it's "go fuck yourself there's plenty of prettier and nicer girls than you out there, that attitude is going to leave you either alone or with idiots".
[–]puaCurveBall 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Even a thorny exterior can be a defense mechanism. She wanted to engage him more and didn't have the proper social tools to do so.
I rarely feel a "go fuck yourself" mindset against anyone except in like political / religious discussions, certainly not when meeting women. I don't think it is a healthy mindset to be finding anger out of interacting with other people.
[–]n0ggy 7 points8 points9 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
How would you react if a GUY was coming up to you and being an asshole ?
Would you "get past his bitch shield to discover his awesome personnality" or just ignore him and tell him to fuck off ?
I don't need to seduce every single girl I meet like I have a quota to achieve. I easily find great girls to seduce where I live. I know nobody's perfect but I haven't a lot of tolerance towards rudeness.
[–]puaCurveBall 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I do in fact take the same approach.
Very often guys who are being assholes are just two short steps away from being an ally / friend.
Confronting them is not a good strategy unless you like getting in fights / arguments often.
[–]testmypatience5 points 14 years ago* [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link
Telling them you understand their insecurity and that there is no need to act like that doesn't help with these particular women. I know a woman exactly like the one he is describing. She really did suck the fun out of flirting. It was a shitty experience and I never let her get away with it either which always made for a shitty time. I ended up ignoring her more than the time I paid attention to her.
They don't get it. They can't get it. It is their defense system and if they let it go they are destroyed and helpless. It is like having a massive nuclear proof wall that surrounds the most sensitive materials in the world that would disintegrate if they were touched. The wall, they can't let it go. The insides of their feelings just can't weather any type of storm at all.
[–]puaCurveBall 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Telling them you understand their insecurity and that there is no need to act like that doesn't help with these particular women.
In a sense you are right, telling them anything means very little. It is about showing them. If you prove there is no need to act that way through your own strong frame, it will work.
I would suggest perhaps you didn't prove this to that girl you know. OTOH There are always exceptions to every rule, and I'm talking about the vast majority of women, including every one I've come into contact with.
I think if someone is as mentally disturbed as you say it would be apparent from interacting with them.(moreso in their view of reality than just their "bitchiness")
Telling them they have a problem and asking for them to fix it isn't the intended result. When you tell them that, you're sub communicating to them that you don't have to put up with their behavior, nor will you.
[–]puaCurveBall 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I like your choice of words ;)
[–]ohstrangeone -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
She'd take that as an insult and see it as weakness, it would just make her even nastier. He handled it perfectly.
[–]puaCurveBall 17 points18 points19 points 14 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
I'm making the assumption that people would generally rather be relaxed around someone rather than be confrontational and at eachothers throats. This assumption has thus far been proven in my own experience.
She would have no reason to get nastier unless you give her one. Recognizing the truth of the situation would not be seen as weakness.
I've gone out with a lot of "challenging" women, I've never found engaging in confrontation like 99% of the other guys who don't just walk away works out.
You are validating her confrontation by responding to it with your own, take the high road. These girls are looking for that one rare guy they can just relax around and barely ever find him (because of responses like OP)
[–]lookiamapollo 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
agree
[–]SedditorX -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
The only problem with that line of reasoning is there are too many fish in the sea. Why babysit if you can find a hotter chick who doesn't think her shit smells like roses? Why help her work through her bitch complex when it is a turn off in the first place? Is that the mans job?
[–]puaCurveBall 5 points6 points7 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It has nothing to do with sleeping with her. It has to do if you want to breed confrontation in your interactions with people or get past the bullshit to find common ground and a real conversation.
[–]SedditorX -3 points-2 points-1 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It's rather disingenuous of you to label what he did as "breeding confrontation". She came of as a bitch and he let her know (after an initial diplomatic effort) that he wasn't interested in playing that game OR having a "real conversation" anymore.
Again, is it the mans job to coax a bitch into letting down her guard for the sake of not creating a stir? You never answered my questions. It seems that's where we disagree.
(FWIW I don't believe a man is automatically in the wrong if he doesn't respond to a certain level of bitchiness and prodding with equanimity. Sure, being chill and trying to work with her while she was literally insulting him might be your game but it's certainly not the only 'right way' to handle the situation. )
[–]puaCurveBall 3 points4 points5 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This has nothing to do with men or women, or who's job something is. If you want to create a stir go for it, I have no problem with it.
I am saying, if you value peace and a meaningful interaction over mere confrontation and antagonizing one another, the bigger man will cut the cycle of confrontation and guide situation to a real conversation.
If he didn't want to interact, he should have just ignored her. Responding with negativity is never the best solution unless you like negativity in your life. This has nothing to do with anything she said or did, it is all internal about how someone chooses to respond to a situation.
[–]DiscreteOpinion 5 points6 points7 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm inclined to agree.
Though, whether or not the suggestion worked is irrelevant. The reality is that she may have actually learned something through an interaction that tested her limits.
Hahaha fun read, thanks.
[–]SedditorX -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Gonna have to disagree there. Being a bitch isn't about masking the "quality person" underneath. That excuse sounds like a Disney line.
Being a bitch is inherently attractive and should not be rewarded with patience and (especially) attraction.

[–]sithyiscool 16 points17 points18 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I agree. There is a difference between an alpha and some one with a huge ego.
However: having a big ego can often make someone appear/act alpha on the surface.
Infact, many ppl who appear to alphas in the group are ppl with huge egos and others just let them take an alpha position.
True alphas bring value. Fake ones will take it from others.

My thoughts exactly. She has a view that most men are "dogs" and she uses her routine to support this view, but she still is a beta personality. Case in point: you knocked her off her rocker and she got uncomfortable and you still might have the chance to bang her.
[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 14 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link
She wasn't truly alpha, she was acting like a male alpha to put guys off their game. I determined not to have sex with her because she had such a bad attitude. Maybe if she were HB9+ Frankly, the fact that she approached me was a good sign for attraction. But she was no more than an HB7 thinking she was higher.
[–]dantaeos 20 points21 points22 points 14 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
She's simply acting like that to find the "alpha male" who not only won't put up with her shit, but also dominates her. Tyler and Manwhore have a couple good talks about this, and she is essentially shit testing you. But if you just acted calm and cool and nonreactive with little facial response, she would understand that you are confident in yourself. By verbally calling her out though, you just created confrontation rather than sexual escalation.

As I'm reading this, I can't help but wonder if some of the techniques used to defuse AMOGs in a pickup set couldn't be used to similarly defuse women like this or 'alpha' women. Since AMOGs are all about the confrontation as well when their territory gets threatened. And AMOG tactics would also fall in line with not sexually escalating.

Hot Babe. This basically refers to any girl. Typically seen in front of a number (1-10). The HB “scale” doesn’t just refer to how beautiful a woman is- it also refers to how highly she’s valued by other people, as well as how highly she values herself.

She sounds like someone who is usually treated as being alpha, but her frame got destroyed.

Just sounds like a bitch.

Man, I'm no expert, but this was kind of uncomfortable to read. I mean, it's good that you told her when she was being insulting, but I don't believe in a struggle for dominance. Relax and lead.
Your entire goal was to rip apart her confidence and seek status from you. Not engage and lead her.
You say you don't want to have sex with her and that she's a bitch, but I think it's kind of clear you actually do want her. She won't make you happy, but her status is a prize to you and you'd feel good about achieving her, because that means you climbed her tower (the same thing that those other guys were supposedly trying to do, imagine that). How do I know that? You used "cock block" which literally means nothing if you don't want sex, but you used it so you do want it from her. You consider her an alpha. You considered your egos to clash (clash generally means 2 things fighting for power). You wrote about how the group felt about your "two giant powers" in the same atmosphere. Your eye was clearly on her throughout the night. You even ended it with "might still have sex".
Really though, the thing I'm trying to get at is, was she really a bitch, or was she just awkward? I mean, if I walked up to you and said "Your technique, of ending questions with an upwards inflection is... interesting. It forces people to give you something." in a condescending way, I don't think you'd take it naturally. You also told her that she'll never have a genuine interaction ever. Man, really? I don't consider that "teasing" on your part, that just reads as downright insulting to me. I have to say though, good job on throwing out a cold read and getting into talking about relationships fast, that was actually good. But you approached it at an angle of she's running game on every guy with the ancient hidden Chinese scroll of freeze conversation and you are the Batman that figured her out, not that she's just weird and like that. The reason she talked about her 3 types of women was that you assumed she was confident, so she gave her opinion on confidence. Not that you figured her out.
I'm not totally defending her or totally attacking you. Maybe she's a bitch. Maybe she's awkward and you related that awkwardness to deliberate bitchiness. Just I see one side to the story in your "my X technique beat her Y technique because of human principles of Z" frame.
You totally gamed yourself into liking this girl. It's almost amusing.

From OP's use of words it seems like that was her intent as well. Why battle water with fire when you can battle it with gasoline? He knows not much is going to come out of this so why does he have to try to defuse the situation?
[+][deleted] -14 points-13 points-12 points 14 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
It's hard to see it from what I wrote, but she was basically going around with a bitchy smirk on her face and tearing down every guy she talked to, including me. She would do it and leave this emotionless but all-knowing look on her face that says.. "now dance, puppet, dance"
[–]IV-6553615 points 14 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link
I don't care if she was so bitchy that she drank the last of the whole milk and put the gallon back. The fact of the matter is your entire goal was to outbitch her for no reason. You started 'observing' her at a gathering, created some random hypothesis, felt intimidated, and in turn, insulted her so you could protect your own ego (and somehow win her over in the process??).
[+][deleted] -12 points-11 points-10 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think you gave her way to much credit. Girls don't ever have big intresting tactical game plans. I knew a girl like that. She was very insecure. It was her armor.
[+][deleted] -10 points-9 points-8 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree, it was likely insecurity. I highly doubt it was a conscious tactic she was using. I think I probably got her thinking about herself more after I said it. That said, when something gets an effect you like, sometimes you latch on to it. She found her bitch routine effective and held on to it- consciously or not, it was still intriguing to me.

So basically with the whole "putting the foot down" line and repeatedly calling her a bitch for the simple offense of trying to interact with you, you make this painfully clear that you are utterly sexist and unable to honestly engage with women who realize that do not make themselves subservient to you. Making it an "awesome story" is also a complete crock here - you made a gigantic effort to write about all this, so it is not like you were winning here, and clearly the fact that strong women exist bothers you...it bothered you so much you had to spend x amount of words proving that all strong women are just a facade, or something equally imbecilic.
[–]Zosoer -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
clearly the fact that strong women exist bothers you
After reading the story, what makes you think she is a strong person? She uses insults and mind games not to flirt with you, but to make HER feel better about HERSELF. She's not strong, she is an attention seeker with a low self esteem.
[+][deleted] -7 points-6 points-5 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
We here at seddit enjoy the pursuit of objectivity. It's ok to point out traits that women have that don't attract us. I know it sucks, because there are women who love to be bitches, but it doesn't guarantee we'll be attracted. Hint: most of us aren't.
Just like how I can be a nice guy (and I spent so many years being one) and guess what- I could say the same about women. You don't want to engage honestly? You'd rather fuck the assholes?
PUAs are the creation of women who won't give action to nice guys. We're the small group of guys who saw the "friend zone" and realized it wasn't going away without a change.
[–]FackingCanuck 5 points6 points7 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Honestly it sounds like you instigated the bitchiness. You made a joke about being a garbageman that she didn't respond too, and then suddenly you felt like you needed to take her down a peg.
The thing is, it was kind of working for you. When she said:
"I think there are a couple types of women in the world. Insecure ones who suck up to men, insecure ones who manipulate men, and then ones who don't take any shit."
She was letting down her barriers and really explaining her outlook. She was qualifying your initial interaction by trying to explain that it's all just a shit test! Your response should have been to accept this qualification somehow. Tell her you like a challenge, or it's refreshing to see a confident woman who can bust your balls a bit because you're tired of picking up easy girls. Now, every time she gives you attitude or is non-responsive it's easy for you to maintain frame because you've told her that basically you find it funny that she thinks she can rattle you with this type of behavior and that she is basically playing into your game by doing it.
Instead of doing that though you basically just told her she was rude and poor mannered. It's not surprising then that she would be a bit hostile to you for the rest of the night. Even if I'm completely misreading this situation and she was being really bitchy, it's best not to confront it because you're so cool it's not worth your time to do. Maintain frame at all times, just smile and excuse yourself.

My experience with Alpha Bitches (or more like insecure ppl with an overwhelming sense of entitlement):
Note: This type of person exists for both males and females. Its their hugely inflated ego that you have to work with.
This person has learned that if they push with enough force, they can do what they want most of the time, bc guys are constantly supplicating to them. Living in a fraternity house, these girls go from room to room demanding drinks. If you say, oh no more, they'll grab it anyways from the shelf.
No isn't a word that they hear much.
Most betas will crumble before the girl, give her what she wants, even if they hate they are doing it (I've seen guys buy drinks, food, tickets in hopes that they will get some).
Some ppl fight against this, and its easy to get pissed. Why should she get whatever she wants, rudely trampling everyone bc she founds it works? Shit, Ill give her some of her own medicine and call her out on her bullshit, shove it down her throat. However, this rarely works. Maybe, 1:1000 times the person actually has an epiphany. Maybe even days or years later.
Fighting against someone's huge ego by force or overtly talking about it will always force them to be defensive. I've been there.. Been pissed that this person, who could be SO AWESOME, SO REAL, has to have a shell over their true self.
What works? Being calm, humble, always smiling and being happy. What throws person with a huge ego off is when you remove their ego by taking down yours. Don't challenge them on their crap. Sure, you might call them out on being ridiculous, but then berating them on it will never work. Be happy, genuine, honest, smile and continue being fun. Take them off their guard by ignoring their attempts to inflate their ego.
You have to show them how to remove their ego by being real, over and over and over.
I can see this in my own male friend K. He is an awesome party dude, but always feels the need to be negative, AMOG, or talk himself up. Why? Because he believes he has to be this image of a cool dude he has for people to like him. So he might say a dick comment every once in a while, trying to bring others down so he can be boosted up. (At these times its really easy to get pissed, or crumble away).
You know what works? Keep your state up, brush it off/ignore maybe, and just keep adding value. Either they shift to being a cool real person, or everyone sees it as being a douche and they blow themself out.
[–]kazagistar 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh there is plenty. But just "discussing methods of seducing women" does not make one insecure or entitled. And this man didn't even do that, he just gave his opinion on handling a particularly thorny scial situation with grace.
There are MUCH more clearly ironic posts to be found.
I definitely kept cool, even when I told her off. My demeanor was playful, even when I was calling her on her game (up until the end when I simply lost the smile but kept the same body posture).
It was a thin line between looking like a douche myself and not... I walked it though, and in the end: profit.
I could get a different approach to chicks like this in the future, but I just don't see a point. Some guys like that particular chase... I find them unfulfilling. I enjoy the chase with hard to get girls who are flirty, not bitchy.
[–]sithyiscool -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree with you. When im at the bar I screen for good leads. Flirty fun girls. Ppl who are like me, enjoying life. So I don't waste my time on bad leads. of course, when options are limited (such as a house party), im more inclined to give girls a second chance to impress me.
Alas, you can still hook up with someone who don't like, but you probably wont hook up with someone you hate.
I think you were smart by giving her a second chance , and then moved on to other prospects.

[–]rapolas 8 points9 points10 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
A question: why did you feel the need to confront her? Why not just ignore her? I get a feeling that she made you feel insecure, hence the attack. And in that sense, she won. I have often seen women use this tactic - if you become confrontational or angry, they feel that they have won, because they can control your emotions. The only way to win in this situation is to be impervious to others actions and to just laugh it off as you are above the situation.
[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I'd say the reaction she got out of me was counter-intuitive. I didn't give her an emotional rise. The first two times I interacted with her, I had a playful smirk on my face. Like I was "wise" to her tricks and I was so above it that I was commenting on her game instead of playing it. I kept cool and aloof, there was no sign my goal was to have sex with her. Instead I almost treated it like she was on the inside of a secret society of gamers. But I destroyed her in doing so, because she realized I was taking apart her very approach.
The last time, again, wasn't an emotional rise. I told her calmly that she was just being a buzz kill. I didn't try to argue any particulars with her, I just dismissed her entirely as a person. That's sure to get her goat- which it did. You could tell by my unphased nature regarding her actual comments, but instead her facial expressions when I just dismissed her entirely. "It's not fun with you here." Edit: I didn't try to qualify myself to her. I just called her out. The emotional rise method would be trying to justify my clothing or appearance. She was trying to belittle me in front of the group. I swept up.
You can easily call somebody out without looking petty or like you're having an emotional response by avoiding the subject matter at hand.
[–]Woetren 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Really? You think way to much about all this. She was probably just being herself when you started to confront her about her game. She doesn't know what to respond so she tells some random stuff about types of girls. Then you start calling her a bitch for no reason. (well, because you think there's some deeper gaming tactic behind her behaviour, but was there really?). So she probably feels pretty insulted and later on tries to take revenge by bitching on your clothes. And then, before the whole party, you start insulting her again. For what? Because she saw through your 'trash guy' game and decided not to respond to it.
Really? I think you made an ass out of yourself. Imagine that she wasn't the tactical bitch you imagine and just confused, and read all you said to her that night. It's ridiculous.

Is the silence after a response really that uncommon?
I remember hearing about it in an Intro to Psychology class, apparently it's commonly used by psychologists, cops, etc to elicit additional information. The idea is people become uncomfortable and continue to talk to fill the awkward silence.
I've noticed girls try this on me in the past. Given that "I'm going to be a psychologist!" tends to be a common fall-back in my area for girls that have absolutely no idea what they want to do with their lives, I would imagine using silence to pull more info would be pretty common. There's a ton of girls out there who have taken at least an Intro to Psych class, it would seem strange if silence as a means of pulling more information was uncommon.
I don't recall whether the technique is discussed or not in "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion" by Richard Cialdini, but it seems like I remember a brief mention somewhere in there too.

tl;dr:
She continued with a few more comments that went from questions to outright insults. At this point it wasn't funny or playful, it was just rude. So I called her out, once again. "Do you know how to flirt without just being insulting?" She goes "Wow, you're the one getting defensive." "No, that move doesn't work on me." I announced in front of the group. The group fell silent. "You're making this not fun. This isn't about me. I'm comfortable with what I wear. But you're just being rude. You're hurling insults and it seems to me like nobody taught you how to flirt playfully. It's not fun. You're making this a poor experience." She tried to open her mouth and say something, but I interrupted. "Seriously, it's just not fun with you here."

Ohh That is one technique I actually learned from my Mother, just waiting until the other one says anything.
I made a date today where, as she said she couldn't make it, I just told her "ok then" and waited ... after some seconds she said: "oh but I'd love to go out with you at another time." This is actually extremely helpful for official/work situations too ... just don't say anything until the other one budges first and makes the first step to a commitment, or reveals one of his secrets.
It's virtually the same thing as making staring contests. Last week fore example, there was a man in his 50ies sitting right across from me in the train. Everything about him said that he was a successful businessman and he started to run his alphaing routine on me by staring into my eyes. We stared in each others eyes for longer than one train station, then he laughed and commented on the situation. I think he did it deliberately, same as I, because it is just unnatural for a person to stare in another ones eyes for that long, damn my eyes already had become really dry and itchy. After that, you could see that his bodylanguage changed to being defensive and mine just stayed confident. But be warned, staring at someone deliberately when you know you wish to look away is not really a sign of inner strength, and other body language will give you away, if you don't feel comfortable. Also you never really know who you are staring at, they could just get violent.
Other than that. damn! You acted so confident and alpha. Really good going, I which I could be as cool as that. ;)

Nope. She was uncomfortable being called out and she shrunk away. I guarantee she did not feel like she won.
I am also pretty sure the group would have had a lot of respect for a guy standing up to an alpha bitch. Its likely everyone knows she is a bitch and everybody secretly hates themself for not standing up to her. He did stand up to her which I am sure everyone else envied.

Ill agree with this. In moments like this, everyone will all say, "wait, you hated that person too? I thought it was just me!"
Well good for you man! Sounds like you have your shit handled
I think you handled this pretty well. An alternative approach would be, instead of calling her out as having game, asking her why she's so quiet. She may not take the bait, but it might have put her in a defensive mode and gotten her to open up a little. (I would only have done this at the beginning, later she was just being a bitch and I would've responded the same way you did.)
I've been dating a girl recently who doesn't say much until you really get to know her. At first I felt a little anxiety in our interactions, like I'm supposed to entertain, but then I just said "I'm having a hard time reading you. You are really quiet." That opened her up a bit. She acknowledged it and, while not apologetic, admitted that it can make for relationship challenges. Which in turn made the conversation more personal.
I think you played this beautifully... always maintaining your frame and sense of personal value no matter what she did. I think you were the first in a long time to call her on her shit, and she didn't know quite how to respond. Ive known a few like her, and called them out on it (never as well as you have) and they always seem to obsess over the incident later and that can either be a good thing or a bad thing.

I'm in Worcester county, and hang out around Boston. It seems like this false Alpha shit is the norm around here. Chicks think their 3 notches higher than they really are as a normal thing. I've had so many encounters with HB5-6's that make me just walk away because they act like they're 8-9's and it's not worth my time.

There is simply something wrong with Boston chicks mentally I guess. Well, no. I've found women in NH, they're not going to be HB[10]s, but we're good with HB[7]s and HB[8]s. I've got no experience in bars in NH, but I've heard that they have some potential. What I did was go south to Boston. Hotter, nicer girls, college age, always a party on weekends, better day game. But hey, I'll probably be in Manch-Vegas a lot this summer. We should exchange tips and places to go, maybe even sarge together.

went to a NH bar last night in Seabrook.. The Honey Pot.. its 18+ but me and 2 of my buddies ( were all 21 or 22, I'm 21) went to meet a girl I knew and a few of her friends(all 21).. met like 4 or 5 random girls ranging from 5-8's and the ones who were thought they were 9+'s.. but over all much easier to talk to and they actually listen and respond without a condescending tone.

I was in a couple clubs in Manchester back in February and man, what a ghettofest. I went to college in New Hampshire, but I don't remember there being so much white trash everywhere. Maybe it's just my memory, I dunno.
Definitely. I've gotten a lot of numbers and some serious hookups in Manch bars. I'll PM you my email - stay in touch.

Too funny. I'm also in Manchester.
I may have an opportunity work out for me that would mean I will not be around this summer, but if that doesn't happen, we should get together.
As far as NH quality... Having lived in 9 states and traveled more than 8 months internationally, plus plenty domestically, it does seem a bit strange here sometimes. OKCupid seems to have endless women in Somerville that I might be compatible with...

I saw she was crazy but I (AT THE TIME, THOUGHT) had invested too much to not tap it.

Nice to see that you didn't try to seduce someone who just isn't attractive just for the sake of seduction.
You actually took the time to talk to her. I wouldn't have been this patient. I would probably react like this if someone just acted like an asshole to me out of the blue.

That was a very good and interesting read, thank you!
Judging from the written dialog you seem to be very well-spoken - or perhaps it just seems that way because it's impossible to tell from the text if you were pausing to think and/or get your words right. Either that, or you just perfected the dialog while writing it up for the sake of readability.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to undermine you here, I'm just sorta.. fascinated. I can't express myself that well on the spot without needing a few seconds first. So.. which one is it? :)
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I'm well spoken when I don't drink. Luckily, I wasn't drinking that night.
[–]batshit_lazy 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Any particular reason for that?
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Mostly because I'm trying to stay on my A-game. I noticed while trying to pick up girls I really lost my cool when I had too much to drink.
Plus extra calories.
(edit: It's great when they're drinking. I might get one beer and milk it for an evening to look like I'm having a good time. But really, I'm calculating.)
[–]batshit_lazy 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Final question: How old are you and the crowd you usually party with?
I'm 26. Crowds range from 21 - 34
[–]Balloons_lol 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Wouldn't it have been less energy consuming to just stop caring?
"Why do you look like you just came from a Tommy Hilfiger store?"
"Does it bother you? Do you really care that much about my clothes?"
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I feel like that's showing too much emotion. I chose the "yeah, I'm a model there" as a way to amplify. I don't want to act like I'm qualifying myself.

I find it funny that you didn't once mention her attractiveness level and I still imagined her as being 9+

I think you played your cards just right. I have had similar experiences. When a girl gets very insulting or confrontational it is not attractive and I do not reward them or put up with it.
I'm glad to get such a positive response. I was worried people would think I escalated too much. Frankly, I was sick of not just her shit.. but all women like her and their shit.

Whether or not her behavior was acceptable, you were way too confrontational here. What did you stand to gain by painting her into a corner? IMO, it would have been a better night if you just ignored her and kept on going.

Uh, did you read his story? I didn't see any part where he treated this girl like an object. I saw he treated her like a person who needed a lesson taught to her, much as you would teach a lesson to a child who doesn't grasp that it's not good to push other children down on the playground. But treating a woman like a petulant child is hardly the same as treating her like an object.
I personally use game to get past people's defense mechanisms, not just to have sex with them. Once I'm past the defense mechanism, I still like to see what the girl is like. Personality is a huge turn on for me-- which is why this chick's personality was such a turn off I decided not to pursue.

Do you find slight over-dressing to help you with your game? They say you don't have to look nice to run game which is obviously true but personally I've always done it when I go out as well and find it to be helpful where I live. Some girls will question it as if it's unnecessary/stupid but it's so easy to turn around to the point where it's basically like peacocking in my opinion.
EDIT: And to be completely honest I just like dressing the way I do. I've done it even before picking up a PUA book lol.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I always love dressing up slightly nicer than the venue. It's a great conversation piece. Sometimes I wear a slick suit to a normal bar, and then opening becomes easy. Girls open me.. "Why are you wearing a suit?"
"Why aren't you ?" I would reply. Then I'm in.

dunno, man. I can't relate. I mean, I know what you're saying, and what you're describing... but when a woman rubs me the wrong way, I withdraw. silence without explaining herself would maybe get one comment like, "did the hamster fall off the wheel?", but after that, I would just turn around and REALLY have no intention of talking with her anymore.
I have made some epic withdrawals. we're talking like, within 3 seconds.

You were right to stand your ground and draw a line regarding your boundaries for acceptable behavior from a girl. BUT! Keep in mind... She was drunk.
Not that it makes her behavior acceptable, but I can't count on 5 hands the number of times I've gotten drunk and tried to be alpha only to come off as insulting or like a douche bag dick head. Of course, people call me out for it, and it's deserved.
Just saying, if she's not like that sober, then I can empathize with her colossal drunken fuck up haha.

I want to shake your hand.
Hahaha, thanks. I take it you've had some tribulations in the New England area?
I've lived in and out of the area for the past ... 18 years. 31 now. Went to high school in southern Maine and lived in Seacoast NH area (Portsmouth, Dover, Somersworth) for a while, in and out of doing things like teaching snowboarding at Killington in VT and doing work-trade for skydiving at Skydive New England... and rock climbing and taking photographs (which I am just about to get my BFA in) and what ever other fun stuff happens to grab me. :)
I consider myself a high value person - my friends tell me they love me and they tell me they appreciate my insight and advice. Finding women who are patient and no-bullshit is a pain in the ass.

I've dealt with a few alpha girls before and from what I've seen there reactions to your game may be a bit different but often end up having the same attraction to you as a non alpha girl.
I once met up with 4-5 sorority girls at a bar one night for drinks, and after talking to a few of them I noticed one girl, we'll call Aly, was the alpha of the group. They would follow her around and agree with whatever she said. Aly would suggest for them to get drinks, and they would all happily agree and follow her to the bar.
After talking to a few other people I approached her and intro'd myself by asking what she was drinking with a big smile. Aly informed me it was a gin and tonic which was an easy in for me considering there one of my favorite drinks as well. The first thing I noticed was her unbreaking eye contact. I made sure during our conversation to maintain eye contact as long as she would. I said something like "I noticed your friends follow your lead a lot huh?" with a full smile. She look at me like I had said something inappropriate then softened a bit and conceded that it was true. She said, still unsure if she liked my comment, "I mean I guess, I'm the president of our sorority." I made a big sarcastic smile and said "ohhh I get it now, so your kind of the dictator of the group?" still maintaining eye contact a grinning. She gave me another more severe scowl and said "I'm not sure if I like you." Wow. Wasn't expecting that, typically I play a cocky funny kind of game and drop minor negs like that throughout with relative success. I was expecting something more on the lines "what?! No of course not" while we both laughed about it, but quickly realized that this game was not working on Aly.
In attempt to not have her gain the upper hand I responded with "Aly can't you take a joke, I'm not sure If I like you either." still maintaining a wide smile looking into her stone cold stare. After going back and fourth a few more times I realized it wasn't going to happen, made note to never try cocky funny with alpha girls, and proceeded to exit the conversation with Aly to hit on some other girls.
A few weeks go by and I see her around and start mild conversations but nothing serious. One night I'm talking to one of my friends and Aly comes up, I tell him about that night and joke about how she hates me. He said he was talking to her after that night and she told him she wanted to hook up with me that night and she was disappointed I didn't stick around to make a move. I'm surprised by this and realized that the negs did work but she just didn't react like a typical girl.
The next time I'm out I see Aly. I approach her and still play the cocky funny but dont drop any negs just too keep it smooth. She still kept her persona up but softened a bit and that night we went back to her place to "hang out". After which she promptly kicked me out. Classic.
TL;DR I play my normal cocky funny bit with alpha girl, she reacts badly so I get out of there. later find out she wanted to hookup so later did.

North of Boston here also.. we have a different breed of women, not to mention the alphas and betas... have you found any patterns with women from around here?

I think you are giving an stupid dumb bitch too much credit. her silence is only because she tries to be witty but obviously she can not be (the Tommy line was her best try, I believe, and she is pretty dumb) she is just a bad performer who tries to act a little different and not nice cause she think it is lame, it might actually be awesome in the bed ;) I think you should have not call her silence game that early to make her eager to come to fireplace. and in the fireplace I see her giving you some screwed compliment but you were not sure if she is the smart mean or not and destroyed the game. it's just an alternative take based on your story! I have not been there so you know better!
[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I entered each new encounter with her (that she initiated each time) with game. I was flirty with my responses. It wasn't until a few minutes in that she started getting really insulting. It wasn't flirty or fun, she was trying to take me down.
Could I have worked the situation and gotten into her pants? Probably. Probably still could next time I see her. But why bother when I had a sure thing I was already flirting with.
[–]WaffleSports 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I've noticed that some girls just DO NOT like guys that are confident and smart. They are like "He's a cocky asshole." Mean while me or my friends did nothing other than talk up some people and have a good time. Just because we're smarter and can make full sentences without cursing doesn't mean I'm an arrogant prick. They don't like being so insecure around somebody and get offensively rude.
I've noticed this too. I'm very friendly and outgoing. I typically don't neg when hitting on girls. I never see a need to, if the girl is nice. It's just this brand of ego-bitch that seems to be taking over .. I don't even know what to do with myself! I'm gradually switching to day-game to avoid this.
[–]WaffleSports 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't know what they're trying to prove by being that way. If I meet that type of woman I instantly turn away with any excuse.

[–]MonkeySteriods -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Its not generic advice, but its good advice on what to do. Yea, it was a bit more confrontational than most would like, but it shows that you were able to stay calm, assess the situation, and then address it, and walk away. You also invoked a really cool form of reverse-jealousy. [The girl you were with at the fire was happy to see a negative person taken care of]
[–]Fred_Flintstone -5 points-4 points-3 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Fantastic read! Great job!
What I would have done:
When she did the stare-down I would have walked away laughing. When I next encountered her I would have asked her if she was OK, and if she had any problems or whether I had done anything to upset her. Her immaturity may then cause her to think she "won" and that you bent over backwards for her - but you/I didn't and you/I were simply being the alpha value-giver making sure everyone was OK having fun. If she interacts again then say "seriously, you said nothing is wrong, why still be standoffish?" - Immediately call out and don't ever lower to her level. It doesn't create attraction this way but it probably softens them up so you can DHV other ways.
Gosh, thats a boring approach. Its the safe alpha approach I use by default. In a club / place with less consequences I may go into hatred-seduction mode...
But I might be wrong. It seems that your way worked to a large extent. I can see that her manner bugged you; it she bugged me too! I was really hoping that when you finally called her out in public nobody would team up on you, and fortunately nobody did. The worst thing is when a rude girl continuously is a bitch, then you finally call her out and you get white knights and her girlfriends saying "hey! leave her alone!". Following "How to win friends and influence people" you could have, in the circle by the 'fire' done these steps:
Move towards her to talk to her in private
Crouch next to her in a non-permanent way, like you are about to get up any second. Have your body 90% facing her. Place one hand on shoulder and say: "Look, I can tell you aren't a mean person. There has been some kind of misunderstanding along the line. Lets forget about this".
If she warms up: Good, chat.
If she denies any wrongdoing and immediately attacked you then she has violated a social rule (you gave her the ultimate opportunity to save face), and you have full rights to call her out in public.
[–]MonkeySteriods 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Or you could say: "I made you speachless didn't I? " And come up with some way to challenge her.
Eh, that girl has the potential to ruin state, he acknowledged the problem and fixed the loose end. Also, he ended up being most alpha one there by standing up to the aggressor and defusing the situation without physical conflict.

There was a subtle game of chicken that nobody else was aware of, and I had just lost.
Haha, this is soooo recognizable. I lost that game a couple of times before I realized you can break trough it by just interrupting the pause and saying something even more teasing or whatnot.
Also, great that you didn't put up with that shit. Some people are just not fun and pride themselves on this "I don't care what people say about me, I just say what I want" thing, but in the end they are as insecure as the rest of them. Where's the value in not being liked by people anyway.
The answer is exactly what you did: don't give them your attention and give it to genuinely nice people instead.
why?
Edit 2: Well It looks like I'm famous! SRS has added me as a nut-case, but it doesn't look like a single one of them understand seddit's goals, nor have any of them demonstrated that they've read or comprehended this post. I think in honor of SRS, I'm going to post a special bonus story tomorrow
Yep. I'm sure you're goals of "Putting a woman in her place" are totally valid and not dehumanizing.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I love this accusation. As if somehow her being a woman is why I put her in her place. Sometimes I think the fools crying "misogynist" are more sexist than anybody they're calling out.
I don't care if you're a guy, a girl, or some other type of gender. If you're a bitch to me I'm putting you in your place.
The entire theme of your story was how women who aren't submissive should be have their ego toned down. And that men should "put their foot down" in the face of "bitches".
And yes, I'm sure the real misogynists are the not the people treating women like fucking objects but the ones who try calling out bullshit.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
See that's just not how it is here. It wasn't submissive vs. not. She was doing her act purposefully to elicit particular responses from guys.
Now, you might call out game as just this, but picture that most game is approaching girls to tell a joke or get their attention for attraction.
This chick was feeding off bruised egos as she made her way through the room.
It's not about women being submissive, it's about putting a bitchy one in her place. Had it been a guy, I'd feel the same way.
I flirted with a lot of girls that night, and the flirting was open and joking and friendly. That's how it's supposed to be. Sometimes an egotist comes along and puts me in a bad mood, so I serve the same dish right back to them.
Perhaps I didn't illustrate how bitchy she was in my story, I guess I assumed most guys here would instantly recognize the type- we've all run into girls like her before.
Edit: she was being abrasive. I don't care if you're confident or not. This isn't about your gender. If you decide not to play by social norms, people will be offended and I'm going to play it right back at you. Stop trying to make a battle of the genders where there isn't one. I'll say it again, the only sexism I see here is feminists trying to create and issue where one doesn't exist.
