Most women don't really believe their appearance is a 10, they are just hyping themselves up. The memes of "she/he is a ten, but" are about whatever comes after the but indicating they are not actually a ten. You understand that's the format, right? It's like, she's a ten, but has sleep paralysis demons that cause her to break vases. Clearly not a ten. It's a joke.

Most women don't think they have a shot at modeling, they just enjoy posting glamor shots because it makes them feel beautiful to do so and they think that's a picture where they're looking good.

No one is forced to date or fuck down. Have some accountability, you didn't Adam Sandler Click and wake up dick deep in a swamp hag. You said yes. You agreed. You went on the date or got in bed or agreed to be exclusive. And, beyond this, relationships aren't about pure appearance, so maybe your friend is enjoy great personalities or maybe your friend is haunted by a sleep paralysis demon that makes him want 5s.

Ahh the make up slap, y'all barely understand make up and yet you speak on it. Most women in their minds have separate ratings for how they are with make up and without. I realize men perhaps aren't capable of this kind of complex thought process, but lucky women are.

Difference between self rated and other-rated is larger in men than in women on average. So men overrated themselves more than women. Which is both evolutionarily explainable and it's also beneficial. So i don't know why you need to follow some hateful ideology when you could also just follow science and accept how overrating oneself is good.

Women will just say they're 10's and not actually think it. It's taboo in female circles to suggest you or your female friends are anything less than a gorgeous queen, but most don't actually believe it.

If they truly thought they were a 10 they would think they have a perfect body, so would never be insecure about imperfections. Their stomach would never be too big, tits too small or too saggy, hair too thin, skin too blemished. Anyone that talks to women knows most worry about all of these, so clearly they don't think they have perfect looks. So not a 10

Women tend to be less interested in hookups, so a man that wants consistent casual sex will have to "fuck down". The men I know in relationships tend to be pretty closely looksmatched

When you see those videos with very obese women rating themselves 10s, keep in mind a lot of those are just rage bait intended to make women look stupid and appeal to a certain audience. They’re looking for a certain type of woman who will give a certain type of response.

Most guys don’t rate themselves 10s, but they tend to think they’re about 1-2 points higher than they are. Below average guys still think they’re average and average guys think they’re above average. This isn’t entirely a bad thing - from an evolutionary perspective, men who are more confident are more likely to pursue women and reproduce. It just becomes an issue when you have guys chasing women above their league who they think are in/below it, and get mad when these women aren’t interested. By all means they should shoot their shot, but the indignation is not necessary.

I think the biggest issue with men is we don’t realize how women view us. Especially when it comes to fat.

This is in large part due to the fact us men have lower body fats than women. So when we look at ourselves in the mirror, we assume we can get a woman of around the same body type. Wrong.

The upper limit of ideal body fat for men is ~20%. For women that’s ~30%. If you’re a man and you have a muffin top and some man boobs going, but you don’t look too fat in clothes. Your body fat % is probably around 35%. Or about 15% over.

Now go look at what a 45% body fat woman (30%+15%) looks like. That’s your equivalent. That’s how women view you. It’s also why only 45% body fat women matched with me in online dating.

Took me forever to realize this. Mostly because when I wore clothes, to me I didn’t look like how I imagined obesity. I actually looked just overweight in my eyes. It wasn’t until I realized men and women have different ideal body fat % did I realize how women see me. That motivated me to lose a lot of weight. Now I’m just overweight.

Should also add too that my BMI was never obese. But my body fat % was. And that no, I’m not attracted to girls with <25% body fat. I actually prefer girls that are between 30 and 35%, or in other words just slightly overweight.

A lot of men hate themselves so I’m not surprised. Rating yourself low on a scale does not mean you are incapable of believing someone is in your league. Rather than acknowledging their own “score” and picking women in that bracket, men try to lower a woman’s value, even if only in his mind, in an attempt to believe he deserves her even when he doesn’t objectively speaking.

Regardless, I think asking someone to rate themselves on looks 1-10 isn’t always a true reflection of how attractive they think they are. Some people pick higher because they think it should reflect how confident they feel, others rate lower in order to show humility. If you really want to know how someone feels about their appearance, ask them to find a picture of someone of the opposite sex who they think is around equal in attraction to them. It’s shocking the amount of people who rate themselves as a 3/4 but then will find a picture of a pretty/handsome person in good shape.

This is 100% true in my experience in the dating world. However, I'm in my 40s so it may be different in other age ranges. In the 40+ range, women massively overrate their intrinsic value - their self image is still that of what they were in their 20s. The 20 years of boozing, drugs, sun and unhealthy eating, with little exercise is not kind to them. On top of that a lot of them have hang ups over exes and prior partners, and still go on about them, which is hugely unattractive.
