I found an Atlantic article recently that talks about the rise in suicide amongst middle-aged men. It's sad yet interesting to consider since most people would assume that men would have an easier time being single in their older years than women. The article touches on how being unmarried and/or unemployed hurts these men in particular -- again, odd since you'd think that unmarried women would have a harder time after 40.
