while that scandal is ridiculous, sweden already offer more data on each citizen to anyone who wants it than any other country in the world.

we were the first country to start keeping track of every person in sweden, and sadly we're the first country to think its a cool idea to make a lot of that info available at the click of a button through sites such as ratsit etc.

you could even look up the networth of your neighbours back in the days when we had a tax on wealth, by seeing how much wealth they had taxed for. (your tax information is not private).

swedens problem isnt one mismanagement of information, that can happen anywhere, it sucks and heads need to roll for it, but any country can have a mismanagement.

swedens issue is a slow and steady pace in the wrong direction, and this is not just "feels over reals" politics, the left is guilty of that bullshit but the right is guilty of their own bullshit, selling off as much as they can for extreme underprice just to "follow ideology", even if it makes absolutely no sense to do so.

Hello everyone, I just want to say that this is my first post on this reddit, but i've been a lurker for quite a while now. I don't really feel like typing a wall of text unless you guys are genuinely curious on why I started No Fap. I will explain to you though some realities that have shun upon me.

First let me say this, I am at day 50 (approximately, I stopped counting). You guys are probably curious on what "super powers" I felt as it would hopefully inspire you guys to do it, because you are hoping there is a fix to your issues. Let me tell you some harsh reality, not fapping will do absolutely nothing to your issues. Fapping won't make your penis bigger, it won 't make your confidence larger, it won't help with your anxiety, it won't help you get laid, it won't help you be a millionaire etc.

No FAP has not given me any benefits but that is my fault. Like anything in life, an addiction can be very harmful, but stopping an addiction doesn't always make you a whole new person. The only way you will actually be something "better" is if you actually do something about it. You need to get off your ass, and just go do it. I think one thing I need to tell you guys, is that failure is okay, and is highly recommended, how else are you going to learn?

I realized on this journey of No FAP, that I am not addicted to fapping, I am addicted to pornography. I have been edging almost every other day, and it has been much harder to stop edging to porn than anything else I have ever done in my life. This fight almost seems unbeatable, but it most definitely is, you just need to keep trying.

My whole point of this thread is that No Fap alone does nothing, so stop expecting it to affect your life in some miraculous way. Accept reality as it is. If you want to better yourself, then you will need to put yourself out there to actually better yourself. No Fap can help with this, but fapping is not the direct cause of your issues, no fap allows you to better yourself because it gives you the time to do productive things. But if you don't do anything with the extra time you will see absolutely no gains. Go out and there and do things that are productive. You will never gain, if you don't struggle. Everything in life takes sacrifice, be willing to sacrifice things to eventually achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

I am still going to continue this no fap, as I did have PIED, and I believe that not fapping will help regain sensation with my penis with a female. I will quit porn, because I do honestly believe that is the culprit to my addiction. I believe that fapping once a week can be extremely healthy, it is honest the porn that has greatly affected my life. I have always been a very lazy person, I partly do believe constant masturbation has been a catalyst to the type of person that I have become, and I blame pornography for this. I will attempt to change, but words are just words, actions speak much louder than words.

Anyways, if you guys have any questions on my life and my views, please feel free to ask. I will answer as honestly as I can. I probably share a lot of issues that some people on this reddit have, and I am willing to share my experiences and lessons I have learned.

The problem is that the corrupt criminals running our government aren't going to relinquish power nor will the big drug dealer pharma, for profit prison, net neutrality destroying privacy invading cable, astro turfing shareblue or suck it dry big oil. The ones that pay to have a proxy politician standing in for them aren't going to give up their power.

Perfect example was last years election, we had a person with good morals and an outstanding track record with the motivation to help the 99% of american people and the world. But Bernie was silenced out by the fake news media outlets and astro turfers in the name of feminism. While having a female with a corrupt track record and flip flopping was instead a better candidate and they pushed her in. And it goes to show how terrible the system we have is that she still had a chance, when hundreds of thousands of people were silenced and unable to vote due to "glitches" and the electoral system to prevent anyone like bernie from making it in. And then if it gets real bad then they just continue to use tricks to manipulate their vote numbers or election fraud.

The 2 party system needs to end before anything else, no way will people be able to vote for the right people when the system is rigged to put only their ideal 2 candidates in front of you and make you vote out of hate or blind loyalty.

Until money is taken out of politics its only going to get worse, but why would the politicians remove their own income.

yeah it was exactly the dnc fault and the reason we have trump. They were so afraid of losing control of their corrupt crime ring running the government. The difference with obama and bernie is one was being groomed and pushed by the dnc because he was their pawn, while bernie was their protester trying to stand up and stop them from within. People only thought obama was "hope" because that was DNC narrative to push home to make them seem progressive but obama was just another lackey doing their dirty work fucking america over.

Even if bernie personally doesn't change anything, having the "loudest" voice to stand up and tell people whats right and wrong would be far greater than the anti-trump chaos that we have now. We wouldn't have to worry about corrupt politicians getting promoted further up and instead getting actually decent people to work in congress. We wouldn't have to fear about our basic rights being removed and how we will survive. He would have made a positive impact, even a small one is better than a continual decline you see with dems and rep running their shit show.

Your 1st post was a rebuttal to the argument that men in high level positions are more capable than women. I asked for evidence that there is correlation between capacity and gender. Nothing of substance was provided with the army bit besides clarification that you are referring to high ranking generals or higher level person's. Then once I repeat that gender and capacity don't have any correlation you say that is what you've been your point.

So are you making a claim that an person in a high level positions can be incapable of fulfilling the role regardless of gender? Or that because one particular gender dominates a field they will have some people who aren't as capable as others but nonetheless will be in charge because of gender.

So then your saying his analogy is correct as more women in Congress plus mayors and leaders would accomplish more things than current Congress (but then again 20 sloths, 10 turtles, and a mule could be more productive than this current Congress.)

Also she does say that more women = more production. Her 1st sentence "half Congress was women" means she wants us to picture a Congress where men and women occupy 50-50 control. Her 2nd sentence "half governor's and mayors were women" is the same thing except it's about state and local level government positions. Her final statement "imagine what can get done" is up for interpretation. But the way she sets up the 1st/2nd sentences means she believes that her last sentence is suppose to be beneficial. Otherwise she is saying is in a negative fashion but knowing Gillibrand she isn't using it in that way.

This is where assumptions about context play a critical role. If you strip all context then yes, you're left with "more women + less men = better." But in the context of addressing existing inequality the equation looks more like "representative amount of women + representative amount of men = better." If you don't factor in context then you're cherry picking and not addressing the actual arguments being put forth.

ETA: So yes, with the applied context it does mean that there should be fewer men and more women in government, but only in an effort to seek equilibrium and fair representation, not to tilt the scales in the opposite direction (with women being over-represented and men under-represented).

To reject fair representation in this case means either a) representative government is bad, or b) women are inherently less capable of governing.

I'm not contexting anything but please help me with what your perception of my context is so I can clear things up.

So what your basically saying is a Machiavellian "ends justify means." That representation of men and women should be near "symmetrical" if it solves inequality of proportionally. Well there are 2 ways that happens...

You increase the number of seats in Congress and given those seats to specific individuals with preferred traits to achieve an equal level of men and women.
You decrease the amount of men in Congress and given those seats to women specifically until it's near identical.

Now for arguments same please explain and list a way that we can achieve more women are elected to office while not reducing the number of men currently in because then you get accusations of preference/bias.

Also what the picture states isn't an argument, it's just 2 people stating followers to imagine what their view of an ideal world/government would look like in less than 140 characters.

Not really. The whole point of the original post is that people have been encouraged to go down certain paths because of shitty social constructs. The argument isn't to mandate equality, but to keep perspective on what equality would imply (mostly proportional representation in most facets of life, because the market would select people by their talent and personal desires, as opposed to outward forces they've no control over). Asians in ivy league schools and Jews in the Senate is an arbitrary "see look how successful". It does nothing to actually criticize or interpret the underlying argument, because we have no idea if that was the individual goal for many people in each respective collective. Both groups could have many people who were told "no" to their true goals because of their looks, cultural history, ideological conflict, general stereotypes, etc. Fuck, it could even be a "no" from their parents who had to deal with that kind of uncomfortable shit. I'm no anthropologist or sociologist, but I'm sure there's been research on this. Anyway, I'm digressing. The point is that saying "well x does more y, so what's your point" isn't a valid rebuttal.

Can we stop beating this drum now? I first attended a top tier engineering school in the us in 2004. There were many programs with lots of funding aimed only at attracting women. I'm talking Vera Bradley purses (expensive at the time) with things like "women in engineering!" Gift bags. I'm talking laughably low standards for women getting into programs vs their male peers. I'm talking about professors making difficult engineering classes go to all group work to help out the "slower" students. I'll lave it as an exercise for the reader to determine how that policy benefited some and lowered the academic rigor of the engineering curriculum.

My point is that continuing to claim "historically been discouraged" has been a big pile of bullshit for almost 2 decades now. Get the fuck off that bullshit.

They are encouraged to pursue engineering in higher education to make up for the gender disparity, but they are often steered away from going into math or sciences from an early age, which is at least part of why you have fewer women interested in going into engineering when they hit college.

Last year, the Australia Bureau of Statistics doubled its proportion of female bosses by using blind recruitment.

So it could just be that although there are more women in these public sector jobs, they are bottom of the barrel workers in the first place. Next the effect was very modest, 3.2%. I would not take these results as conclusive either way.

Even if it was a room full of a single gender and race, this still wouldn't be how hiring works. You really think companies (good ones) hire based solely on qualifications?

Let's say you have two people straight out of college. One has a 4.0 and the other a 3.5. Mr. 4.0 is highly intelligent and the best in his graduating class but is an asshole when working and interacting with other employees. Mr. 3.5 did't graduate at the top of his class, is intelligent but nothing special compared to his peers, and is excellent when working with others. Everyone just likes working with him. Who do you think would make the better hire?

When I hire someone their resumé helps me weed out people without the minimum requirements. If I need a German translator but you speak French you're out if luck with getting a job.

That is an interesting point. Perhaps men are more qualified once they reach this stage of senior level recruitment for government of corporations, as your evidence claims. This evidence neglects, however, a collapse of meritocratic behavior earlier on in an education system and in the previous jobs applicants were not blindly selected for. A normal job application would be a culmination of both education and job history.

Read it again; observe context.

He's directly replying to her comment that things would be better if there were more women in government. In doing so he's presenting a counterpoint. He's using "Imagine" to mimic her own language in a sarcastic way, but the implication he is making is that officials are elected based on their merits, not their gender. In other words, he's saying that the reason there are so few women in politics is because the ones that run just aren't qualified enough.

Given the context of what he's responding to, the only way he'd be earnestly saying that she should instead imagine an egalitarian political system would be if he were agreeing with her and saying "Wish not for more women in politics, wish for a system that were bias-blind, because the current one is not."

And I can guarantee you, if that's what he were saying, this post wouldn't be PPD.
