FDS women do not hate healthy love from HVM. We hate low value “love”. We often call out misogyny in dating and it gets falsely misconstrued by lvm as misandry. I regularly share links to FDS posts to the few HV men I know in my life and they never feel offended, they try to find compassion to learn how to be better + to hold other men accountable.

Receiving “Reddit care resources” from male users just because we want to ensure that women are treated with the upmost respect is insulting honestly. Instead of being offended by our safe space, trying to understand why women need it in the first place (because of dangerous men) - would be the ethical thing.

When I got married, everyone was all like "relationships are hard work" and I was like "no, no they're not." You just fucking love each other and that's enough. If someone is making you do hard work to make the relationship work, they're trying to mold you to fit them instead of appreciating you for who you are. Now, my husband is not perfect and he does make my life harder for being in it sometimes (sometimes better, too, though). However, I am never ever working hard at our relationship. I am never working hard on how I talk or act or am. I am just who I am and that's all that's needed. I don't have to diet or do makeup for him. I don't have to change anything about me to suit him. Relationships are not hard work. Anytime you feel like it is, examine what's actually going on.

Aww :) I've talked in my better than botox post and elsewhere about my husband being good for my physical health, but he's also way healthier since meeting me in a bunch of ways. He even 99% reversed the streaks of gray hair he had when we met and used to have a bunch of stress-related health problems that are gone now. It's a wonderful thing to be each other's home :)

Soooo…I have some feelings.

I split with my first husband when our kids were 6 and 5. He was literally terrible - oh not like you think, he didn’t cheat or beat me - but he did nothing. Never smiled at me, never did a single chore, never quite literally ever complimented me, planned dates, etc etc. Told me “the wife keeps the social calendar” - that type of thing. He also left skid marks on the sheets.

Anyway.

We weren’t officially divorced by Christmas and he wanted to wake up “as a family” and asked me to stay the night. I was going to sleep on the couch but he convinced me to sleep in the bed and he held my hand and passed right out as I stared at the ceiling the entire night.

In the morning he said, “see what you do for me? You being here gave me the best sleep I have had in months” and I just nodded. He didn’t care at ALL how I felt. Not even the slightest. It was all about what I did for him and how I made him feel. The post above gives me the same vibes. Of course he feels relaxed when she’s around - she probably takes care of 100% of his life. Wonder what her BP is like.
