if by harder you mean making women more selective in the future…. then yes, but at the same time this is a warped perspective to view it from since ultimately

1) laws on abortion serve no influence on whether a woman would want one or not

2) if you’re a trustworthy guy who takes the necessary precautions, you’re good

overturning roe v wade comes with many, many issues - “making dating harder” should prob be on the bottom of that list

On the positive side, one can argue that it really makes people think about using sex for long term partners and not just short term.

On the overall negative side........you've completely lost the trust of half the population. Half the population now sees their freedoms being taken away. Trust is gone. And this is a disaster for relationships. Trust is essential for relationships to build and now that's been obiliterated.

So dating now will be MUCH harder due to the lack of trust. Frankly the way this was handled was horrible for the country.

I'm against abortion for me personally and so is my wife. However, I don't think enforcing my views on the rest of the population is right, especially when its up for debate when life actually begins.

You might want to sit with that a bit. When dating its important to consider what you bring to the table as a partner. Red pill seems to focus on things like looks, height, succes, good hair and money and whatnot. While they for sure may be bonusses, they are not what makes a good partner and not what will ensure long-time succes for partnering up. Empathie, kindness, wisdom and the capabillity to see the bigger societal picture in personal challenging times are of far greater importance.

OP. You make a good point. Reversing Roe v. Wade will make dating harder. And it will make it so men are a lot less likely to have sex. This is important for men to realize. They will be personally affected, and often, that's what it takes for people to care about politics.

You're getting downvoted because this decision has created a ton of anger from people who do not want their rights taken away. And because people here are having trouble "seeing the forest through the trees" concerning your point. In other words, people are just picking apart the wording of your point. I'm sure they would agree if it was articulated differently.

Women being less likely to hop on your dick =/= having the right to your own bodily autonomy stripped away, being forced to carry a pregnancy to term (no matter the medical, social, and financial cost to the pregnant person).

This decision will literally kill women. The #1 cause of death for pregnant people (even BEFORE this decision) is homicide by their partner. More women will be killed because the men who impregnated them don't want to be fathers. Access to abortions (which are safe, quick, and easy procedures) will save the lives of those women.

I think your heart is in the right place but holy shit, PLEASE do some research on the repercussions of this SC decision.

“Men are more vulnerable”? Are you ok? Men don’t have ANY responsibility over fetus or mother. Woman is treated as incubator without rights, she is responsible for medical bills, she can loose her job, become homeless as a result, go bankrupt because of medical bills, she may face disability as a result of complications, etc and men hold no responsibility at all!!!! They don’t owe covering medical bills, they don’t owe to provide any help for women, they aren’t forced to do ANYTHING until the baby is born and only then maybe some shitty child care support will kick in, but that’s about it. If woman faces medical issues, disability or other post partum consequences it’s again — on her! Everything is on woman! How dare men take away women’s rights to abort the pregnancy while men face no responsibility upon fetus and it’s vessel (mother)? If women are forced to provide “housing” for a fetus, at least force men to provide housing for pregnant women, cover medical bills, provide food, cover any consequences woman faces as a result of pregnancy (job loss, disability, etc).

I think that this is an accountability issue. In this day and age, aside from assault, if a woman gets pregnant, thats entirely her fault. She can get an IUD, birth control, make the man wear a condom and withdraw her consent if he doesnt comply.

When I look at the totality of the situation, there are multiple devices in place that encourage sexual degeneracy among women with no repercussion. I dont think this is overall a good thing for society. Women need to be selective about the men they sleep with to ensure a good continuation of genes.

Theres this argument that pro life individuals dont care about the life of the child, however, conservative institutions such as churches have been shown to foster children put up for adoption. Im pretty sure there are many couples unable to have children that would have loved to adopt your unwanted child.

Lastly, have women ever considered that men have no authority in family courts? If women decide to have a child that a man didnt want, that man isnt able to perform a financial abortion- he would be on the hook for the next 18 years. So its your body your choice but not my money my choice? No. Either we all have a choice or we all have to bear the consequences of our actions

I'll play devils advocate here and get down voted to oblivion for it - - how hard is it actually to drive to a state where abortion is still legal?

And before someone says "well you're rich so of course.." I have some pretty broke friends. They still manage to borrow an effed up car or motorcycle and drive 11 hours and visit their grandma in another state once a year.

And I donno anyone who is going to be having abortions more often than every year or two.

I can understand being pissed off about the principle of it. I think it's BS that my state doesn't allow more than 10 round mags. But does it actually, practically, change anything?

Why should I be outraged by the overturn of Roe v Wade?

From what I've read the decision will only give more power to individual states to choose their own abortion laws, this sounds like more power to the people. I'm from Europe and I'm against most non-economic laws that force individual countries to adhere to what the European Union wants. I'm from the Western and more progressive block, despite this I don't want to force my views on people in the Eastern block even if I don't agree with other more conservative views.

Why?

Because I believe in the self-determination of peoples more than anything, which has nothing to do with being pro or against abortion. People will have more power to vote for people that push for the abortion laws they want with the overturn of Roe v Wade since their vote will matter more on state level. Surveys show that the same amount of American men and American women are against abortion and sometimes more women than men, studies on US samples even show that women are more likely than men to hold negative views against promiscuous women (1 , 2). With the overturn of Roe v Wade women more than men will be freer to express their views as they are slighlty more likely to be against abortion than men.

As a comparison, I believe anti-blasphemy laws are an infringement of freedom of speech but I don't think that's oppression against Muslims as the vast majority of Muslims supports these laws according to indipendent surveys. We have seen this in the Arab Springs, dictatorial secular rulers were overthrown by the people and their democratic alternatives have always been Muslim parties; I don't agree with the ideologies of these parties but I respect them more than the former, it's the self-determination of peoples that matters first and foremost.

I want to point out that I'm pro-choice. I can't find one logical reason to be pro-life without resorting to religious arguments and, as a secular humanist, those are extremely foolish to me.

Abortion was functionally illegal in many of the states that are going to formally ban it. There were many deceptive 'clinics' that really just tried to convince women to not end their pregnancy. The places that would provide the procedure were so few and far between and starved of funding that they weren't accessed.

This changes little for you if you're in a state where abortion access was already comparatively easy. For some people, this is the first time they're finding out abortion was even an option in their state.

Long story short: abortion or not, you should still be educated on, and know where to get condoms, plan B, hormonal birth control and IUDs. I've only ever had sex 2 times with women who weren't on hormonal birth control or had an IUD. In the first case, I was in my early 20s. The second time I was just careless and didn't ask. Both times I was using a condom that broke. When male birth control pills become widely accessible and safe ill probably get on that and continue to support politicians who want to make Healthcare options easily accessible and affordable to as many people as possible.
