I've spent a majority of my life as a feminist, completely supporting women in almost all cases.

Until I dared to open up to some of my long time (female) friends about some of the challenges I had socially as a man, as it's significantly harder to earn people's trust and keep it, and therefore keep friendships alive, especially with women.

I was promptly branded as an incel (even though it had nothing to do with sex or romantic relationships) and they publicly tried to ostracize and cancel me.

This (and similar experiences) opened my eyes to how extremely radical and toxic feminists are. They are poisoned with their hatred of men and are only capable of tolerating ones that are completely indoctrined with their beliefs that women are virtuous and can do no wrong, while men are inherently flawed and evil, and should actively be educated to be better.

So to answer your questions briefly, I don't see men's rights as a separate issue from women's. We should be vying for equality, which feminism does not stand for, despite claiming otherwise. It's a radical ideology powered by hatred and distrust of men. I don't get on edge talking to women on this issue, but I do grow distrustful when I detect dismissal. Ideally, we would stop this gender war and focus on true equality, but I've only seen that initiative on the men's side. Women are too busy trying to play the victim.

I grew up in a feminist family. My mother officially identified as a feminist and she abused me. She was sexist, favoring my sister solely because of her sex. She took the same path of feminism as we grew up. I know a lot of feminists, many of whom I have known since my childhood. I can tell you for sure, all of them in conversations belittle men and say bad things about them. All of them are sexists against men. There are very few exceptions when they genuinely believe in true equality, but they are rare exceptions and usually don’t have any power. Feminism promotes abuse against men by ignoring the facts of male abuse and concentrating completely on female abuse. Not only do they ignore it, but many of them are also active abusers themselves, like my mother, for example, who daily tortured me because of my sex.

The childhood experience left me with a deep-seated fear of unfairness and the notion that women are untouchable, and even when I’m completely right, I will not be supported. So, recently, now that I’m an adult, I tried to write about my childhood abuse by my sexist mother on different subreddits. For context, she abused me severely daily, physically, psychologically, and once when I was six, she even threatened to cut my throat with a knife while holding it. I just needed support from people, and guess what… A lot of women not only did not support me, but they even wrote cruel comments. The moderators even deleted these comments and pinned their comment to warn others; the comments were so hostile. I couldn’t believe it… How is this promoting true equality if a woman gets all the support and a man, instead of support, gets more abuse and cruelty? Of course, it’s not.

You will be attacked even just for asking why sexism from females against males is more validated than male against female. Can you imagine what kind of toxicity today’s media promotes? True equality is when people support people regardless of sex, which is not happening today at all. They even actively attack men and completely belittle our experiences. Feminism is an organized movement; they have a lot of support and resources and they have a huge responsibility, but unfortunately, today’s feminism is sexism against males

Right now there is a very apparent clash between womens success in education/career that is clashing with base relationships/dating/marriage desires, where expectations and desires are not matching with the new reality, so women are getting unhappy and men are checking out, this is not going to bade will for western society.

If feminism states it is also for equality of men, don't say that dismantling the patriarchy will fix it, no, it requires recognition that each sex is unique and we must work together. Feminism now has little relevence, there needs to be an egalitarian change

According to Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s writings and quotes, she believed that women are superior to men in certain aspects. Specifically, she argued that women’s motherhood and nurturing roles grant them unique wisdom and power that men cannot possess.

In her diary entry of December 27, 1890, Stanton wrote:

We are, as a sex, infinitely superior to men, and if we were free and developed, healthy in body and mind, as we should be under natural conditions, our motherhood would be our glory. That function gives women such wisdom and power as no male can possess.”

That belief has run through feminism right up to the present day. I can’t support a system of belief in which I’m treated as an inferior person.

She was prescient on that last point. Women control every cultural institution in Western society, and they do not like to share power.

Regular, they say they don't hate men but act like they do.

I think that feminism is anti-male and misandrist. I'm as anti feminist as one can get. The biggest issue is boys and men being falsely accused and women getting off scot-free for sex crimes. Another issue is women getting away with domestic violence and being allowed to take everything from men after marriage, thanks to alimony.

Thanks to "rape culture," there's a feminist witch hunt going on falsely accusing boys of men of being rapists or potential rapists. Most feminists are nasty people who love to project and accuse men of being "privileged" when men have always been disposable by society.

We've got many misandrist feminist conspiracy theories floating around like "male privilege," "rape culture," "patriarchy," and "toxic masculinity" in the wake of radical movements like Me Too that are vilifying boys and men. I think that feminism is too far gone and too radical today.

Not all men and women would be happier if true gender equality was achieved, but the ones who believe in true gender equality would definitely be happier.
Not sure what exactly you mean by "believe in" feminism, but what I believe isn't really relevant anyway. Facts matter more. Feminism exists, and that is a fact. It does not fight for true gender equality, and that is also a fact. I'm also aware of the existence of different "types" of it, but they are of little consequence. None of them fight for true gender equality, and if there was a hypothetical type that did do that, it will never wield any meaningful power or influence over the movement.

Men would, many women would - feminists who want favouritism and for society to indulge their bizarre theories would not. Although perhaps they could get the help they needed.
I don’t believe in feminism at all. I believe in some women’s rights which have long since been achieved (in the west strictly speaking, obviously there’s a lot of shitholes in the world which treat women like crap, not just in terms of opportunities, but also how they’re treated even within traditional gender roles).

The reason I don’t believe in feminism is that since the various times women have achieved equality in many areas, what we have seen from feminists in the years and decades since is that they only push for more advantage for women in these areas and are incapable of stopping, coming up with ever more demented theories as to why they need to act like this. What this tells me is women of the feminist inclination are simply inclined to demand special treatment and favouritism whether they’re behind, equal or in front - and can’t change that.

Perhaps there was a time when men and women could have gone into the future as equals, but that proved to be a pipe dream, because feminists showed they were utterly incapable of that and are only operating under the instinct to constantly demand more for themselves (something which wasn’t apparent when they actually had less in some areas). You can see this in the education system, and laws surrounding family law and sex crimes.

For me personally what pisses me off about feminism is the idea that whatever success men make they owe it (or half of it) to women. Men make company - feminists say women deserve half the board spots and control. Men make sports league - feminists say it must fund an attached sister league. It’s basically gold digging for the modern age, just attaching to mens success and being provided for by it. Except at least the old gold diggers gave something back men wanted - with feminists it’s more of a shotgun marriage men don’t want to enter into and has no benefit for them.

IMO, anti-feminism isn't sexist against women. It is anti-sexist.

I suggest you educate feminists on the dictionary definition of feminism and we wouldn't have a problem with them. If the influential feminist researchers, professors, lobbyists, public policy makers, journalists, authors, politicians, and protesters (and the "real feminists" using their work rather than calling out their sexism, bias, bigotry, data manipulation, outright lies, etc) were to follow the dictionary definition of feminism rather than the man hating spirit of feminism, I wouldn't be at odds with them. The problem is that there is an inherent contradiction in feminism.

Let's take just one example:

If men get 50/50 presumed custody in divorce then fathers wouldn't have to worry about being alienated from their kids. Kids would never lose a father who wants to be in their lives. This is a huge improvement for men and children. Women also get to share the load of parenting.

This is a net good for most parties in most circumstances.

However, if you are a woman who wants to control the children, if you want to maximize payments through child support, if you want to hurt the father this is a net negative to you.

Feminism isn't about equality it's about giving the optionality to women in as many circumstances as possible even if that must come at the expense of equality or the real best interests of the most number of kids.

So feminists have fought any attempt to make this situation more equal. Because equality here means giving up their privilege as the presumed primary caregiver.

Feminism died the second women realized they would have to give up some privileges for equality. Then equality was dropped and it became about "empowering women"

This is when men with self respect left feminism and the left. And the men who stayed were reduced to "allies" but not equals.

My own thoughts below answers if interested.

Long story short, no to an unknown greater number of men. There are men that are able to find a new path in this post-traditionalist feminist world, and there are those who struggle adjusting in this new world. According to Aaron Clarey’s the numbers, men and women are unsurprisingly different when it comes to what they consider important. Men ranked having a partner as the most important in contrast to women. And with feminism, there has been a disproportion of more men looking for a relationship in contrast with women. If a man takes the red pill, he is exposed to information that makes him have a negative view of women and would make him hesitant to be in a relationship with one knowing various statistics and ugly characteristics we believe are intrinsic to women. I’ve heard the term “better off blue” to describe men that would be happier not knowing the truth and can’t get past the idea of having a wife and kids with the ideal woman who isn’t going to divorce (50% divorce rate with 85% of women initiating) him or cheat on him (officially it’s 13% but there are doubts of the veracity of it being this low even by researchers. It is found that there’s a correlation between a lack of religiosity and a higher rate of infidelity and we are in the age of people being less religious.) and sometimes this ideal woman is a virgin (only a single digit minority are by marriage). Feminism is seen as the villain in destroying traditional relationships and encouraging female individualism aside from also creating a government and system that favors women in divorce, sentencing, funding for resources, for positions not on merit but by gender and even race. Even if the system changed to where men and women were truly equal, men are still putting having a partner as #1 and women don’t even have that in the top 10 for priorities. The premise of one of Aaron’s books is that men work hard for a family, and since they don’t have one, what’s the point? Male suicide rates have been the highest it has ever been in this feminist society.
I am aware of what feminism claims itself to be and seeing what it has done. I can’t say I’m in favor of it. There’s sects such as intersectional or TERF, but they all serve a greater purpose such as vote blue no matter what and that’s to get more out of the system to favor women whether it be programs or legislation or use their clout to push cultural changes that further exacerbates the divide between male and female. It is my belief that the manosphere only exists because of the break down of traditional society due to feminism.

Biggest issue I would say is the hostile environment created by feminist culture where men are automatically viewed as predators or criminals despite those of us that want nothing to do with women. I can’t tell you how many times there were women who thought I was following them when I wasn’t. Should feminism exist? Personally, I would say no due to the animosity that exists between men and women. However, you can’t kill an ideology. It will always exist and it resonates with a sizable portion of women to be powerful. Today’s society has a heavy emphasis on individualism even in “relationships.” There isn’t one team with assigned roles and purposes, but instead two individuals that are bound to butt heads with each other. This might be acceptable to a niche percentage of couples, but this doesn’t work out in the long run seeing how there are less marriages and more divorces than ever before and 45% of women will be single by 2030 which feminists seem to praise.

I do wonder why you want to educate yourself before you start dating. If you aren’t a lesbian, men’s rights to the mundane man seems like a very niche topic. Also, if you’re over 30, good luck finding a man your age let alone someone that isn’t interested in just simply fornication unless that’s what you want. Just know the more sexual partners you have, the less likely you are to want to commit to one partner long term. If you’ve been in the feminist subreddit, they are very much against relationships with men.

The only solution to feminism is allowing natural selection to take its course.

I think so, if life were more equal people would be better off and generally more happy with parity. It's obviously more complex than that as some things might not make you happy but you might be able to appreciate the fairness of a situation.

No. I think feminism makes some core assumptions that are either unequal in some cases and completely wrong and falsified in others. By unequal I mean their one sided takes on how society used to be or in some cases still is.

For instance they will point to the stereotypical housewife as a slave and oppressed for not having the ability to get a job outside the house. While ignoring that the men are also forced to work (a slave), there was no option for them to take care of children (no choice), and even today basically still isn't due to the way paternity leave is set up. There are so many ways they downplay men's desire to care for the children at home along with so many other examples in gender differences because it would harm the narrative that women are in a "worse" situation.

The very fact that there are so many feminisms just shows how incomplete a model it is. The only reason I think it's as mainstream as it is is due to the very fact it uses those very different feminisms as a Motte and Bailey tactic disingenuously. If someone says "I don't like feminism because xyz" a feminist can choose whichever version they want to disagree with. Flip flopping to pick ones that fit. At which point if you can answer two contradictions using the same theory you've basically made an unfalsifiable religion.

Biggest specific legal rights would be bodily autonomy and MGM (circumcision) and any mandatory conscription, be it even just selective service since even though there hasn't been a war in a long time, choosing not to sign up has real world consequences. I think parental rights is also a big one. I think default 50/50 custody should be the norm.

As for social rights. Basically addressing all the areas men fair worse in. Suicide, incarceration, education, health and life expectancy, employment etc.

I would definitely be happy, but there is absolutely no way to make absolutely everyone happy. I imagine that a lot of feminists would not be happy if true gender equality is achieved, since they are not fighting for gender equality. They want female supremacy instead. If you don't believe me, kindly give me an example of the last time when the mainstream media or politicians spoke of men's rights without also including women's rights, because all I hear them both talk about all the time are women's rights exclusively. Y'all think you're so oppressed but if you truly were, people would not give a shit about you. You would be treated worse than men, which is objectively not true.
I do not. Feminism is bullshit because everyone who believes in it seems to think that all the good in the world seems to belong to feminism (such as when I say I am an advocate for gender equality people will call me a feminist, when I am not) and all the bad does not. When confronted with all the bad things that feminism does, such as making a joke about killing all men, y'all will say "but that's not real feminism!". Okay, what is real feminism, then? Is it something with no fixed definition and therefore something different to everyone else? Because I definitely see patterns in the people who believe in feminism and the people who do not. The people who believe in feminism will never blame feminism, even when confronted with hard proof. It is always someone else's fault, typically men. There is a sick kind of narcissism going on with a lot of feminists nowadays, where the people who aren't seem to be much more logical and willing to admit their own mistakes, at least to me.

It may be a small group of men, but there are many more men on the bottom of the food chain than there are women as well, and this has been statistically proven. That's unrelated. Feminism does NOT promote equality in rights. It is just an advocacy for upper class women (which also benefit upper class men).

Feminism is a supremacism movement for upper class women that serves as a front for normalizing privileges for special groups. It is the template for all ID pol movements (special rights for women, gays, POC, whatever). And all ID pol movements are just fronts for normalizing special privileges for special groups, so that the new aristocracy, the plutocracy, can benefit from special privileges without having to justify them. When feminism fights for women as CEO, or as Senators, it is fighting for the upper class privileges. Men deserve equal treatment in the justice system (equal sentences for equal crimes - no Duluth Model for domestic violence calls), workplace anti-discrimination (women can and do sexually harass men, and hiring and promotions should be gender-blind), draft registration, and family court including child custody, alimony, and child support

The reason some men dislike the term "feminism" is the vast majority of women use it as a synonym for "gender equality" but back away fast from "egalitarianism" which should be what everyone strives for. Feminism has been used under that cloak to justify all of the injustices in the men's column I listed above.

Yes - One big issue I have is that the attempt to eradicate sexism by viewing men's and women's rights as unequal, is in itself clearly sexist. The struggle for women is different than the struggle for men, but both need attention and recognition.

Question 2: No - I don't pretend that I do. I have the impression that feminism is far more polarized and extreme in America than it is in Europe.

And in this climate, even the men who are more on the "soft" side (e.g. who dare to show their emotions and vulnerability) get grossly ridiculed. I realize this is mainly an online-problem and it could be trolls most of the time, but still...

ALL people deserve equal rights and fair treatment. I think that the emergence of men's rights, intactivist groups etc, ... is a logical result of our changing societies and decades of one-sided feminism. Your questions are a bit vague in places but I'll attempt. To preface, I'm an egalitarian who cares about human rights in general. I speak up mostly for mens rights because male issues are generally not taken as seriously or given as prominent a voice in public discord. Also, because that's what affects my son and I directly. This is one of the few subs that allows egalitarian discussion.

Overall, yes. People benefitting from gender privilege would be less happy though.
I believe it exists obviously but I disagree with it. Yes, all types tend to lean on patriarchy theory and prioritise women over men which I fundamentally disagree with.
Couldn't care less. To an extent, I understand why women (and girls) get hoodwinked by feminism. I would be more pissed off when men identify as feminists. They should know better and at times I would question their true motives.

I would like to say the following before answering the questions: I am only on this forum because there is no Reddit forum called r/men where you can talk about exclusively male issues. But I am not an MRA (Men's Rights Activist). A decade ago, I started exploring and engaging with Feminism, Masculinism, gender issues, and Egalitarianism. After immersing myself in all the toxicity of the gender battleground, I have rejected both Feminism and Masculinism, as well as Egalitarianism, and returned to a more traditional, realistic, and anti-liberal worldview.

Happiness does not truly depend on the rights given to people. We can have all the rights we want and still be unhappy. We usually find more unhappy populations in advanced industrial societies than in an Amazonian tribe, despite all their hardships. Happiness is not a permanent state; it is a temporary condition achieved after completing goals set in your mind. Problems are permanent; we will only stop having problems when we are dead. And it is the problems, and our development in facing them, that generate unhappiness. So, my answer is no.
I am well-versed in most types of Feminism, though I’ve focused more on listening to Radical Feminists (Radfem). And no, I don’t believe in them. Feminism is good and necessary for detecting exclusively female problems that a man might find harder to notice. However, I disagree with their general view of human history, the functioning of patriarchy, and historical power dynamics between men and women. Therefore, I cannot consider any form of Feminism as true. Lastly, I despise many of the "solutions" they propose, especially when feminists try to change the nature of men.

Probably not. Men didn’t worry about our structural inequalities until women started caring about theirs, and Feminism took on hegemonic power positions in the West. Only then did our inequality become maximized in opposition to Feminism. The only rights men previously cared about were voting rights against 19th-century landowning aristocracies. All groups whose political subject is the male gender are a consequence or reaction to Feminism’s hegemony in 21st-century Western society.

In our society, women are seen as possessing hypoagency. This means that people think they are less capable then they really are. This causes them many problems in life that men don't face. However, those seen as less able are also seen as more deserving of help and assistance. Because women are falsely seen as weak, they are easily seen as victims.

Conversely: men are seen as possessing hyperagency. This means that people think they are more capable then they really are. This causes them many problems in life that women don't face. One of those problems is the difficulty people have seeing men as victims.

Some of the effects of men being seen as more capable/powerful/dangerous than they really are is they get less social assistance because they're male, and more prison time just for being men.

obviously these two things alone are pretty legit problems, yet

Male Disposability compounds these problems almost exponentially: If one of the biggest problems of being male is that people care about men less than women, then solving men's problems is going to be significantly more difficult than solving the problems of women.

I think generally, yes. There are women out there unfortunately who don't want men to have certain rights that we are fighting for and they of course will be unhappy. But the majority of females I am sure will be happy than men and woman have further reached equality.
I believe greatly in feminism. I think that it is a good movement meant to bring awareness to the inequalities of being female and male. Now what it used to be and what it largely is now are two completely separate things. The restart of feminism back in the 70s was beautiful and made a large impact on western society. But since then, it has unfortunately derailed greatly and is now controlled by people who don't necessarily want women's rights, then just hate men.

For me personally and just based on my experience, it has to be the issue of female violence against men. The fact that it is downplayed so heavily and never taken seriously frustrates me to no end and I wish I could get rid of the phrase "Man Up!" forever.

Considering I want every sex predator to be taken seriously, it's possible female sex preds would be somewhat unhappy at their free pass being revoked, and it's likely those men and boys who know something wrong has been done to them and now have recourse would be happy about it. Would women and boys falling into neither category be more happy? Well, clearly every woman-who-cares-about-her-male-loved-one-who-was-raped-and-is-the-only-one-in-his-immediate-social-circle would have an easier time, so would every guy in the position of being the only one to care about some other guy who was raped. For everyone else though, who knows? Maybe they just won't be affected, maybe some knock on effect of taking female sex preds seriously would make them happier.

I also want for baby boys' organs to not be harvested at birth and sold to the highest bidder to the tune of 30-100 grands a pop. I guess it might suck for every woman using Skin-Cosmetics-Made-From-Real-Baby-Boys if they were to suddenly not be manufactured anymore, and it will suck for the executives of said companies, but y'know what, if you have to go out wearing your real skin for once, or have your big yacht go without it's mini-yacht, my heart bleeds out for you, really.

The fact you are posting this on r/MensRights , a place that is dedicated to giving men some rights they don't currently have and has such a bad reputation that by merely posting here, you have been banned from several communities, some of them quite large, is quite strong evidence that whomever can be argued to truly run society, they clearly don't care much for the benefit of men, which is a knockout blow against the idea of a society run for the benefit of men. As this assertion that is contradicted by a mountain of evidence is the one I have a problem with, I don't care what you call yourself or on which minute piece of dogma you disagree with each other with on. If you believe with all your heart on something so trivially easy to disprove, I'm going to have a problem with that. If you try to advocate changes in society based on such an unsound dogma, I'm expecting that not only it'll have bad result for me, who'll be accused of a crime I didn't commit and have to deal with the consequences of that allegation, but I'm also not expecting that treating a problem that doesn't exist will result in any progress regarding the problems that actually do exist, so I'll have a problem with that too. Yes. Men’s rights affect women too, and vice versa. In my country only women get alimony, husbands legally cannot get alimony unless they are crippled.

In countries like UK, China, India etc, the law defines rape as only being done by a man. So women literally cannot rape.

This applies to more than 4 billion people in the world. For these people, both male and female, if they get raped by a female perpetrator, their rapist cannot be charged with rape, only a lesser charge of assault.

Also explains why there are so many more male rapists than female ones globally. For more than half the world, female rapists legally cannot exist and be counted.

Then we go to work where the HR department is majority women, and if we're in an office or public service job we're outnumbered too. Then we're told we're the ones responsible for the toxicity in these places.

Answering in whatever order I see fit

1.) Happier isn't the primary concern for anyone other than hedonists. It's a desirable state, but not at the expense of the quality of intersexual dynamics.

5.) Men's rights can exist independently of feminism. A lot of responses by men's rights advocates to the proponents of feminism are based on misrepresentation of common arguments of MRAs or defending approaches that make the health of men and boys worse. The latter can be seen when someone such as The Prim Reaper breaks down what various psychological health organizations have advocated for, and primarily being in response to organizations that are not explicitly feminist, serves as an example of an MRA response independent of feminist arguments and policies.

2.) I don't believe in the central and unifying premises that can be seen in nearly every variation of feminism. It used to be a remarkable change in gender dynamics to give women the opportunity to work and ultimately benefit the household if two people could work and earn more money they’d be able to retire sooner- afford better schooling , holidays etc.

I grew up with my mum being a teacher and dad carpenter. We were financially free throughout my childhood and into adulthood because my parents work together as a team.

But now feminism is just a superiority movement gamed by bitter , unattractive misandrists driving an ideology to poison men and humanity. Much like in feminism, there is a wide range of perspectives within Men’s Rights. I’m often concerned that posts in this group so often devolve into anti-woman rather than pro-man.

As for your question on feminism, I think men’s rights probably wouldn’t exist without feminism - over time, society evolved distinct roles for men and women that were quite fixed.

Feminism questioned those roles from a perspective of all the ways men benefit and women were harmed. But while many feminists say that redefining roles was for the benefit of both men and women, that was never the priority for the feminist movement.

I think many of us feel like feminism wanted to remove all the benefits men had, while preserving the benefits women had. Men’s rights, IMO, is a reaction to that.

So literally everyone would be fighting on the same side. Cause it was never about being equal its demanding special privilege while the pleps dont get.

Yes, two people working the same job should make the same money, absolutely. I tried to be feminist and MensRights at the same time, it was hard cause feminism got out of hand. I understand there are different feminists. Ones that are truly trying to make gender equality, the ones that want women to be treated better, then the radicals.

Hello! I'm one of this fancy little subreddit's resident "leftists"; a self-proclaimed socialist, anti-feminist, and transwoman.

I was raised a feminist myself (hard to escape with a single mother in the 90s), but cast off the association with the "equality" rights movement when I did my research, discovered the pretty obviously sexist roots of feminism, and embraced the far more deliberate movement of "Egalitarianism".

I support Men's Rights because... Feminism doesn't, plain and simple. And quite frankly, the significant imbalance between the political presence the "average woman" now has, while the "average man" still lacks... kind of makes men more marginalized than women, in my honest opinion. They die more to suicide, have no protections against genital mutilation, and are still the only ones who have to register for the draft. And I'm super exhausted from modern feminists repeating the total and quickly disprovable narrative lies that men face no discrimination based on gender.

So, with that out of the way, here's the answers to your questions:

Oh, absolutely. My views on Men's Rights are Egalitarian through and through. I want gender/sex-neutral language throughout all laws, I want equal rights and responsibilities for parenthood and marriage, I want improved access to all forms of health care for all individuals, and other rather easy-to-accomplish social initiatives that would raise overall satisfaction of life, go even further to prevent discrimination from business and government entities, and foster a more representative democracy.

I believe in Women's Rights, and that is an entirely different animal from what modern feminism has become. This... strange, social justice blob that's absorbing every "disenfranchised minority" in the pursuit of equality, but very explicitly excluding men and using clearly sexist language to diminish men's issues and feelings.

Having been a feminist, and also just being a hobbyist interested in the social sciences, I'm pretty well aware of the many "flavors" of Feminism. And, TBH, you've done yourself a disservice. By being this kind of weird ideology that has no concrete mission statement or doctrine to hold members accountable to, anyone can basically just pick up a few pieces of "feminist theory" and run in their own direction with it. Suddenly there's even more feminism! Or... people claiming to be feminists, at any rate.

Unfortunately for everyone, Modern Feminism, synonymous with 'Fourth Wave' feminism and oft-criticized as feminism of the West, it's become dominated by the once-fringe man-haters who have gleefully shaped an entire catalog of sexist language to reframe men as a monolith, self-interested group. "The Patriarchy", "Male Privilege", "Toxic Masculinity".

You can't seriously shape an entire theology around hating men, and include a reflexive dismissal of "not all men", and then expect a sane human being to believe your merry social justice mob is actually fighting for "equality". The biggest issue specifically for men in the US today, is probably the looming threat of conscription if World War 3 kicks off. This followed by mental health access, affordability, and men-centered treatments are all rolled into the heavy spot of the second biggest issue. Granted, mental illness severely impacts women as well, but men have less social safety nets to recover from a major life event that threatens their livelihood compared to women, which means that men are the marginalized group when it comes to severe, untreated mental health distress.

Biggest issue for me are the policies of discrimination against boys and young men in education. Other ones include biased family law, discrimination against males in healthcare, biased criminal sentencing, affirmative action, DEI and other such non merit based employment practices.
There would be fewer men’s rights issues if there were no feminism since many of the inequalities the men’s rights movement wants to address are a direct result of feminism.

Not necessarily. For example, if a group of people were exempt from paying taxes, and I wanted equality and wanted everyone to pay taxes, I don't think the group who now have to part ways with some of their money would be happier. But I do think it would be a more equal and fair system.

Define "belief"? Yes, I believe feminism exists. As for the different "types" of feminism seems to be something you could dedicate a whole PhD thesis to. I do recognize that there is a lot of different categories yes. You can view it as the different "waves", 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th. Then you can also segment it into beliefs such as TERFs, Radfems, Intersectional feminists and so on.

Do I have a deep understanding of each and every category of feminism? No. Do I believe in all of the core tenants and beliefs of feminism? I don't think so, and if I do, it's probably not in the same way a "dedicated feminist" does.

No, but I will be on edge if it's a feminist, regardless of gender.

This is a bit tough. I think there is the standard answers of violation of autonomy and self-determination in terms of circumcision & military draft. Some people will say it's silly, particularly the military draft thing, because in a lot of the western countries of modern times, it hasn't really been enforced that much. But I don't think that's the issue at hand. It's more the looming danger of it. We look at an uneasy world with increasing conflicts with Israel, Iran, Russia, Ukraine, China and so on, and we see what happens when those conflicts starts. We can see how in Ukraine, a few years ago, the draft might not have been the "biggest deal". But the Russia invaded and suddenly men were forced to stay and fight, while women and children were allowed to flee.

And this isn't because I want women and children to be stuck in a dangerous war zone. But it's more about a mindset when voting. If half the voter base feels like if something bad happens, they can just leave and let the other half handle it, and come back when its safe again. Their vote might be very different from if they felt some kind of obligation to stay and help in the dangerous situation.

These were examples of more "core" and direct impact on personal rights. Then there's slightly more tangental stuff. Because technically we don't have a "right" to for example money from the government. But if we look at where we prioritize money-- a disproportionate amount of the money when it comes to charity, medical funding, funding for abuse victims and homeless people, is going to women. is this a *rights violation*? not really, but it is an issue, and I think one of the most relevant issues in modern time.

In most modern western countries, we've kinda fixed most of the hardest problems. For the most part, everyone can vote, everyone can marry, everyone are fairly well covered by the core equal rights. And the bigger issues we look at now are the inequalities that stem from systemic, cultural and social issues. And it feels like there has been an unequal preference of focus toward women in that regard. You could argue that this focus was justified at some point in history, but I think we're past that now.

5 - Is there men’s rights if no feminism?

No, I don't think it's an adversarial binary, where either one or the other wins(depending on the goal n flavour of the advocate). Besides, both genders can be mostly oppressed by the an "elite" together. The world isn't so simple. And if we got rid of mens rights, it wouldn't automatically mean that feminism prevailed and women had perfect rights either.

A1: No. The whole point of equality is that everyone makes sacrifices so everyone can be equally happy.

A2: Yes. Feminism was about equality between the genders, which I stand for.

Modern Feminism is controversial for all the reasons that make you ask these questions you're asking. Modern Feminism has driven a wedge between the genders because modern Feminism calls masculinity toxic and is very sexist.

A3: No. Not afraid of women. I just don't like people. I like my circle small.

A4: The disregard for men in general.

When I, as a man who was raised to protect women, would never raise a hand to a woman, would act instinctively to save a woman from harm or danger and actually sacrifice myself for a woman because women are more valuable for survival than men are. It's also just the right thing to do.

To find out women on mass don't want to do their traditional care for men because they "don't owe men anything," is just so disappointing... Women rushing to a man's side when he's hurt or in need of care, too much to ask? Put a bandaid on him, clean his wounds, and give him a feeling of comfort. (In a nonsexual way) A woman's touch is 1000% better than any other medicine.

Men willing to die for women and women willing to care for men is normal. I'd argue that's equal. (In a perfect world) A man receiving care from a woman would NOT take advantage of her, which is why we should be able to "trust all women" because sometimes women comfort and care for the man using sexual favor. There is nothing wrong with it, as long as the woman is the one to offer it. (It would also be assuming these two know each other and aren't strangers.)

Men go to war, fight and die, and do the physical back breaking work so women don't have to. (Not that they "can't," but "don't have to" is the point)

Women care for, nurture, and childcare, so men don't have to. (Not that they "can't," but "don't have to" is the point)

A5: No. Without Feminism (keeping in mind Feminism is a movement for equality), we fall back to men overpowering women into doing their role while men would not need to uphold their end of the deal simply because they are stronger than her.

That's the oppression that everyone hates. Clearly, it still happens, and always will. But if the mass is against it, just 1 person finding out can save that woman and have that man put away. Abuse of that knowledge should be punished as well.

Flip side, without the concept of Feminism or an over application of modern Feminism, leads to women holding all the power over men, using them as guard dogs and using society to deal with anyone who stands up against a women's rule.

Gender rolls are not exclusive clubs. Equality makes it all better.

Women: You don't want to care for men? Get your hands dirty. Fight. Sacrifice yourself to protect others. You gotta be strong and capable other wise your failing your dedication to the roll.

Honestly, i don't believe so. There are some perks that women have that they do not want to lose, but in my opinion should. It would make the world a better place, but it won't make women very happy.

That is a hard one as there are too many really bad ones out there. My number one thing is that men do not have reproductive rights in any shape or form. But a close second would be the empathy gap.
I think that would be fair to say. Feminism is by far the biggest civil rights movement, and it is one about just one of the sexes. It would never have been socially acceptable of men to build something like the feminist movement. Things like universal suffrage would not have been a thing if it was only men that wanted to be able to vote.

This is our initial entrance to the world - where boys are informed that their state of being is problematic.

Only a small select elite of men have had power, the rest of us men died in war or labored away for someone else’s benefit. This is because men and women have different (and sometimes competing) needs. What’s best for men sometimes can be bad for women, and what’s best for women sometimes can be bad for men. If my views on men’s rights were achieved, men and women would have equal say and rights in child custody, divorce laws would change making it equally fair for men and women, forever alimony would be removed, women and men would get same prison sentences, etc. My wish is just for men and women to have equal rights, but also equal consequences. I don’t think many women would like to see their special benefits be stripped.

I’m a man. I have a mom, a sister, and a father. I support feminism because I understand the struggles women have faced and continue to face. But what I don’t get is why some women treat men like they’re the enemy, as if it’s some kind of revenge. I think I'm gonna get a lot of flak for what I'm about to say but let me also preface by saying, I can only base my opinion of it off my own experience with it, which is limited. However my wife identifies as a feminist so here goes:

It seems like a very ... disconnected(?) mindset. I'm not talking about the social side of feminism. I have no issues with that. In a sense, in the social sense, I could even consider myself a feminist. I think women do get the shit end of the stick in a lot of instances, and I don't think it's right. Specifically one area that always stood out to me was the pressures and expectations on women concerning their physical appearance. Women feeling like they can't leave the house without a full face of make-up or their hair done, having to dress a certain way, Shave etc. Especially because so much of these expectations are simply the result of some corporation or another's desire to make more money, and clever manipulative marketing schemes designed to do so.

However where my issue comes in is the personal, or interpersonal side of feminism. It seems like my wife's prevailing mindset is, "am I obligated to do x,y,z for my husband". And the answer seems to always be no, because she's a woman and she shouldn't be obligated to do anything for a man, just because she's a woman and I'm a man. The problem is, gender has, or should have nothing to do with it. And for anyone but feminists it seems, it doesn't. When I buy my wife flowers, come home after a long day of work and tell her she can go sit down I'll clean up the kitchen, anything what have you, I don't do so because I feel obligated. I do it because she's my wife. I like to make her feel good, I like to make her life easier. I think she deserves to feel good and for her life to be made easier.

But it seems like in her mind anything she could have to do beyond what it absolutely required of her is some kind of injustice and so she's not doing it. Or if she does she does so grudgingly.

There's also the man-hating. I can tell when she's been more active in her feminist groups online by how she acts and reacts towards me. Words like "mansplaining" and such become more common. Hell, not long ago, I was talking about a book series we're both very passionate about. We both love books. It's not uncommon for one of us to go on a passionate little monologue about an aspect of a book we're reading. I was doing just that, talking about how cool Numenor (The Silmarillion, Tolkien) must have been if Gondor was as incredible as it is, and Gondor is described as a shadow, a memory of the splendor of Numenor (if you're not A Tolkien nerd like us, disregard all that, I apologize). Something she also would typically get very enthusiastic discussing with me except this time I got "I know what Numenor is, I don't need you to mansplain it to me". I was literally dumbfounded. Wind taken out of my sails. I didn't even know how to respond. I just said sorry, I didn't think I was explaining let alone mansplaining anything, I just know you like Tolkien too." And walked away.

I'm only even typing this because honestly I feel her "feminist" views are starting to mess up our marriage. I don't oppress her in any way, she literally does whatever she does or doesn't want to do and whatever falls into the latter category, I pick up the pieces. I'm the sole provider, yet I come home and stay active taking care of our kids or cleaning the house until whenever it's all done and the kids are asleep. She stays home, which she often comments on "I'm a prisoner in this house" and yet I often encourage her to get a job, because I think it would help her mentality, I think she could use interaction beyond that with children. And yet I by no means try to force her to do that either. Out sex life is non-existent because, again, she's not obligated to make me feel good just because I'm a man, even though sex to me isn't about feeling good it's about connection and I just genuinely miss that connection with my spouse. I won't even try to ask or initiate anymore because I feel the anti-man-expectations rising up in her if I do.

So yeah, I don't know, that's that. Again, I'm sure my perspective is skewed and I know with certainty that not all feminists feel the way she does. Bút I know many do, because I know all these sentiments are coming from her feminists social media groups, and the feminist stuff she reads online. And it didn't exist when we first met. We were just two people that enjoyed helping each other, talking to each other, making each other feel good and experiencing each other. And the few other "feminists" i know are much the same. Regardless, that's how I currently feel about feminism. At a social large scale level it's good. But if some of these feminists are so focused on changing the world outside that they no longer see what's going on around them, maybe keeping one's own side of the road clean before pointing fingers at someone else's could be beneficial.

1 - Yes, we want men and women who are less burdened by feelings of unfairness and mistreatment from the opposite sex. Imo most radicals on both sides are recipients of extremely traumatizing experiences at the hands of the opposite gender.

4 - Societal views on circumcision, the weaponization of terms used to mock men like simp.The normalization of female teachers setting preferences that more and more boys fail to achieve, and the holding on to out dated social norms that shouldn’t exist in an equal society, like men paying for everything, men doing all the courting, women favoring older men almost exclusively when it comes to marriage, the absolute inflexibility on women wanting larger men as partners, and most importantly the cruel ways in which women view moments of weakness that men experience, too often women want statues that feel only purified emotions, anger and sadness are villified or shamed, yet feminists claim the patriarchy keeps men from sharing emotions.

5 - I would be very worried if there was no feminism, men cannot adequately describe the depth of the unique issues that women face, and women can’t do that for men. It’s the crux of why both need to exist, we are unique enough that if equality is actually the goal it will take an endless amount of tiny adjustments in order to adress issues unique to each gender. The world without men or women vocalizing their issues in communities would be a much worse place

I think it’s lost its way because it should be for ‘empowering’ and helping the actual most vulnerable female humans in any given situation not used to justify obnoxious divisive social media posts or further their own personal gains or agenda.

It’s the same with any anti racism type activism, the most vulnerable minorities don’t actually get help from the people who purport to be championing their rights. Case in point BLM and where that money went and how much of it was used to help the most vulnerable black people in the USA?

1 - Feminists happiness comes from hurting men. So there are no scenario in which both can be happy at once.

2 - Feminism is a plague that seeks at making wealthy feminists wealthier but doctoring data and manipulating gullible masses. Saying it doesn't exist would be topmost denial. The only two type of feminism are candid (the rabid toxic radfems) and the manipulative (feminists that pretend feminism only seeks justice).

4 a) - Infinite number of double standards: Women can break the law and get rewarded for this. I recently found out a grade school classmate molested children all her teens and early adult life, and all she got was "getting told to get a therapy/counselling". I was S.A'ed by female classmates when I was 13 (blackmail stuff), and the juvenile police knew, opted to do nothing, and I recently found out that instead they put my name in a database, as male victims are far more likely to grow as sex offenders. And one of my male childhood friend was wrongfully charge with "stuff" as a revenge for filming cops during protests ( they never found anything in his computer, but charged him anyway and made the case ligner for over 6 years. He was then broke, turned crackpot, and joined some sect deep in the woods. I wish I was making this up.)

4 b) - Women get paid billions yearly for stuff made up on the spot like inequity and a doctored "gender pay gap". Billions. Yearly. Yet when men face documented quantifiable issues, like sexlessness, they're literally told "Tough!" or "Man up!" Back when I was working and paying taxes, I would have been shot on the spot if I decided to stop paying income taxes. Yet feminists claim men bodily autonomy is never affected by laws.
