You will hear it all the time on social media on how society hate older women, treat them badly and women becoming invisible as they aged(not just in dating, in social situations/interactions in general)

Many women keep making statements like:

"Society HATE older women and punish them for aging"

No sister, society doesn't hate older women, they just become irrelevant as they age. Society doesn't punish them for aging. It just doesn't REWARD them anymore for looking pretty and youthful.

The experience of being unseen isn’t unique among older women nor would I argue is it even the objectively worst part of life. To put it crudely, these average-moderately attractive women had the luxury of being seen as pretty from their childhood to at least their mid 40’s. Receiving nice things and getting help without even the need to ask for it,..etc. But now, they’re starting to get treated like the rest of us average folk.

That’s not unfairness that’s just a leveling of the fields. Compare that with the experience of average men. Being invisible and unseen is their default. Even worse for ugly men and ugly women. They start out not getting noticed, so as they age, they don't see the difference because they never had that privilege to begin with

Being ignored is the BASELINE, niceness is the PRIVILEGE.

People aren't flocking for short bald men in their 40s and calling them aging like fine wine. When women complain about older men being treated better than older women. They are comparing average older woman with a tall, full head of hair CEOs in their 40s/50s which is literally a very small percentage of men. While ignoring the vast majority of older men who end up depressed in dead end situations, circling the drain or killing themselves.

To those with privilege, equality often feels like injustice
