MGTOW is stereotyped as basically incels, and admittedly the subreddit gives sort of a vibe like that, but I dont hate women or believe AWALT. I have women friends and dont consider myself bitter over ex gfs. Background: Im 6'3, played a college sport, from a moderately wealthy family, and most of my relationships have been healthy and ended on good terms. Pretty average. Heres my view and explanation.

Relationships are a constant pain in the but tbh. I haven't dated a girl since high school who didn't harass me about getting drunk and high. Girls will get bored and want to "do something" which I almost never want to do. After the first few months the attraction fades and sex isn't even particularly fun.

Hooking up is even worse, with relationships at least the girl and you are sort of friends. With hookups you have to put time, effort and stress to maybe get some shitty sex, fear of pregnancy, and a general gross feeling afterwards.

Ive decided that Id rather just not really deal with girls in a sexual way over the past year and its been incredible. Less stress, no pregnancy worries, I can drink and do drugs whenever I want and focus on my degree/job. My theory on why this is the case is that for almost all of human history sex was the only real way for a man to have great pleasure, as well as fufilling his desires. Now we have porn, sex toys, an endless supply of TV shows and movies for entertainment, anonymous forums to have deep conversations, and drugs to make you feel good/get a rush. The MGTOW movement will only grow as men can fufill all of the needs a relationship fills (cheaper) in the consumption market along with the rise of recreational drugs which are quite literally better than sex. Edit: The wall of text poorly explained what I was asking. TL;DR: with the rise of cheap hedonistic outlets and the internet, MGTOW will become increasingly widespread. This is a positive thing. CMV
