Yes, I’d strongly consider it. The dating market in America is brutal for men. It’s very hard getting a girlfriend that isn’t overweight or a single mother or trashy. I think it would be a great idea to save up some money and move to some southeast Asian country for a couple years and teach English or something, find a nice, attractive girlfriend and then move back to the states with her.

I would be open to it but I'm not sure how much truth there is to the guys being more appreciated in those other countries. If I actually believed women would be more receptive to me or that it would be easier to find a less promiscuous woman in a foreign country I would probably be interested in going there at least temporarily. It kinda depends on which country too. Like I would probably prefer Japan or South Korea over Thailand but I don't know if what you are talking about applies there.

Bonus: Would you rather be undateable in a first-world country, or a decent prospect in a third-world country? Why?

Neither is ideal but decent prospect in third world country is better simply because something is better than nothing. Also like you said the idea of being “appreciated” for what you bring to the table is appealing.

I’m not sure that the gap between the west and the old third world countries is quite as large as it was before and as such the window to try to do something like this may already have closed or is closing? I do think that 40 years ago this may have worked better in that a woman from a poor country may have been blinded to your issues simply because they found a white western man to be exotic or desirable, but I suspect that many women are much wiser to the situation now, not to say that there may not be a segment that will cater to your worldview.

Yes. If only my company allowed for me to work from in a foreign country, I'd be doing just that right now. Currently I'm allowed remote, but have to stay in the country for some company tax purpose. I'm actually actively trying to find a different job that allows for it.

We need to be clear on which type of third world country though. As long as the foreign country in question is safe, has utilities, and internet, I see no problems. I've actually changed addresses like 8-9 times in the last decade or so, not for dates/relationships, but I just don't see moving as that big of a deal. So far it has always stayed in the US, but I don't imagine moving cross country boarders being all that much more disruptive that moving across state borders.

I guess? But where exactly would I go that would have the amenities that I get here in the US? Outside of a third world country, my SMV isn’t going to move very much. Yeah I guess I can maybe get laid, but I can’t drink the water. But it’s just not realistic, I have to first learn an entirely new language (because no third world country is going to have the locals speak English well at all), and find a job in that country, a new place to live, etc. And then I’d have to actually live there. No offense, but I’m not feeling living in fucking Malaysia or Indonesia.

I know men who didn't move to foreign countries, but got themselves wives and girlfriends from overseas, and brought them back to North America. In each case, it was pretty evidently clear that those women wanted nothing more than a new passport from a first world country, and access to money. They didn't marry those guys out of love, they married them for their resources, and nothing more.

One such incident almost proved deadly, as she was trying to kill her man by poisoning him. She got off on any charges, as she claimed she didn't know she was poisoning him, and was helping him try to lose weight. Lack of knowledge of the english language was her excuse, even though the guy was held up at home for nearly six months, sick and exhausted beyond belief, and too weak to call for help outside of her. It wasn't until his brother came to visit that things changed, and he got help.

I come eastern European decent, so I know what the women are like from that part of the world. There's no difference, they don't marry men from first world countries out of love, it's only for money and to get out of their homeland. Eastern block women also have a tendency to keep boyfriends back home, whom when they go to visit alway get back together with, or even send money back to. Plus they are also known to cheat on their married North American men back home, and spend more money that their husbands actually earn.

At the end of the day, women around the world are all the same. Unless you meet the hard requirements of the 6 ft tall, six figure salary, six inch manhood, and be the tall, dark and handsome type, a woman will never love you, only use you. So it doesn't matter if you marry a girl from Utah or Ukraine, they're all the same.

It's easier to just chat with women online and convince them to move to a wealthy western country. That's basically what I did. Yeah, women are hypergamous everywhere, but if you're an average guy who is attractive enough and you're able to maintain your value, then a foreign woman isn't going to find some better guy, as the more valuable men already have western partners.

But as for actually moving to another country, unless it was somewhere like Japan where I'd really enjoy living even if I were single, then no, I wouldn't.

I'm not sure I'd completely move to a foreign country by the time I start actively dating/looking for a spouse (prob 3+ years, when I've finished school and started down a career) but I think if I'm still unmarried in my early-mid 30s I'd probably start looking into options to find a foreign spouse.

No idea how I'd even go about doing that but would probably start heavily considering it given I live in the Southern US and the quality of people we have down here is pretty bad all around. If I find someone here, great, but I do want to have a family and I know the clock is ticking even for me :S

See, I am from a third world country - Russia. I ended up moving more or less permanently to a first world country. Now, if a genie appeared to me and told me I can have a loving partner if I just go back to Russia, I would decline - I just dislike the life there too much. But if it were a different country, and if better dating prospects were guaranteed - then I would seriously consider such an offer. If only because growing old alone is still a terrifying prospect to me.

Let me say that in Europe that is not the case. Multiple foreign marriages occur...German/Spanish, French/Italian, Swede/Maltese...etc. Some go well others not so well .It all depends on your education. If you do your Uni abroad or research doctorate you will probably stay in that country, adapt and settle down there. So not purposely move there for girls but the longer you stay in a place the more chances you get in finding someone.

Um I wouldn't move. You can just talk online to boost confidence. Lots of asian and latinas in other countries are beautiful and slim. At the beginning of the pandemic using tinder felt amazing. Like non stop matches in southeast asia and china. I would consider it, but only after I exhausted my options here first. I still get my chances local but it takes way longer. But if you can't get any chances then yea go for it. Who cares if american women put you down for it. Maybe if they lose weight and actually care to excercise guys won't look outside the country. People will say she is only in it for the green card, but women develop emotional connections so I wouldn't worry about that. Also worse comes to worse you can find another. Anyways I'd say try local first, but if you really struggle then look outside the country.
