I have been married, have had hundreds of intimate partners, and a dozen serious relationships. I would be considered a "high-value" man since I have wealth, am stable, and am a good provider when with a partner.

Despite that, I've been betrayed, cheated on, accused, and generally fucked over by women. I'd rather pay for companionship than play the dating game. That's women's fault, not mine.

They've been coming after every space that exists where we men congregate to speak on our issues with society. This one is just the latest on the list. This one will be the hardest to take down, as here the discussion is nuanced...so for them to attack directly exposes their bias. So the take shots at this sub in their own echo chambers in hopes someone takes the bait and blows up at them, so they can point fingers and say "SEE!!!??? WE TOLD YOU THEY WERE HOSTILE!!!"

If you zoom out and look at the big picture in culture, it's not so hard to see. Take any group no matter it's fundamental slice of society. If the group does ANYTHING other than carry water for the left, the left will sooner or later identify you as an infestation to be eradicated. Then it's a matter of time until the inertia builds and the hate flows. It's more pronounced on reddit than in my North Houston neighborhood. Much less so than on the campus of UC Berkeley where my dad got his PhD. Doesn't effectively matter. Sooner or later the train ends at the same destination. Today's left doesn't engage on substance. A lot of modern feminism has nothing to do with supporting women and women's issues and has everything to do with just giving women more power. This also means that in order to get more power they put down mand and refuse to admit that men have struggles and issues too, and that women are the perpetrators. If they admit that women can harm men and that men can also be the victims of oppression women loose their victim status and that is where feminism gets its power from. That is why they hurl insults at men's rights. To discredit us and make us seem like we are weak and that no one should take us seriously.

The country I live in (Canada) is not a patriarchy but the feminists living here insist it is. They also see any discussion around our society not being a patriarchy as "bashing feminism".

If feminism insists that western democracies are patriarchal then it should be "bashed".

Therefor, there is nothing inherently wrong with criticizing (bashing) feminism. In a world were feminists promote a false narrative, there is nothing wrong with being anti-feminist.

Edit: from going through all you guys' response, i feel like there needs to be way less pointing fingers at feminism than there is. Although i agree that many of the popular modern feminist articles, ideologies, etc are either downright hypocritical or view men as horrible evil curses, the more this subreddit points fingers or bashes feminism, the more it would seem to the outsiders that this is just another anti-feminist club. I think this sub should be more about bringing to light things like male discrimination, suicide rates, fatherhood, etc. All these can be done without taking shots at feminism is what I sincerely believe in. Otherwise, this movement would be following the same path as feminism.

Sigh...tone policing again. You can't address these issues if you take feminism out of the equation. Men's issues do not exist in a vacuum. If you don't like that a subreddit for male issues is "taking shots" at feminism, then you can go into any of the other mainstream spaces for gender issues and try to convince them to be more pro-male.

Remember that women aren’t the enemy, the vast majority of them and caring, supportive people just like the vast majority of men. The posts that have almost made me leave this sub before are the ones stating, this woman did X and all women are bad because of this. We, as a community, have the opportunity to turn this sub into a place that does not bash women for what they do (there are plenty of other subs that do that if you want to go to one of them) but rather as an oasis to actually work on the issues that plague men. There are always going to be people that resort to name calling when they don’t have any other comebacks, but we should not post content that could feed into that. Is there a way we can get stricter posting requirements to only focus on the real issues? If we want to be thought of as a real movement, we need to start acting like one.

Something to keep in mind. Lefts universally suffer from self-loathing. Deep down, they know they're horrible, hateful, despicable people and they despise themselves for it. This manifests in what's called "confession through projection". They project onto others the things they hate about themselves (and lie to themselves about). For instance, if they call you a racist, then it's a sure bet they are the actual racist and will likely make some racist comment in the next sentence while claiming they aren't being racist. I think it's a mixture of people and ideologies.

I'm more of a lurker, but I have a good sense of what sentiments gets exchanged here.

I can only judge /r/mensrights by how it is moderated and what sort of sentiments are upvoted, and in this sense it is very much akin to an incel sub/alt-right sub in ideology. While there really are a blend of ideologies here, and I appreciate that contrary opinions are not explicitly censored, I think perspectives that generalize and express anger and resentment towards women are strongly promoted and upvoted here. Similarly, a popular sentiment here is that the media/liberals/feminists maintain a concealed agenda to systemically suppress and use men.

That's my honest observation.

Feminist institutions create too much collateral damage and unapologetically, endorsing fringe elements who revel in the suffering of innocent people.

In order to move forward to a more compassionate and inclusive world, these damages need to be called out and these elements ostracized publicly.

But since the philosophy and its applied manifestations do not possess the collective will to call out and shut down their own human rights violating elements, much like with the Catholic church so too with feminism change needs to come from outside by naming and shaming. This is the very beginning of collecting information on the enemies of said transformation into a more compassionate society.

Their funding sources need to be approached with our findings.

It is possible that a radically altered future form of feminism can continue to contribute to a more inclusive world.

But for now there are few worse sins to oneself than attempting to appease one's abuser. And that is what we're faced with in trying to sugarcoat the problem.

Go after their funding sources. And be a politically significant number. That's how this begins to change. Not before.

First off, this subreddit misuses the term “feminism” to mean “female supremacy”.

So for someone who is educated in sociology or just reads these concepts more in depth than social media level, they come here and see bashing feminism which comes off as “anti-feminism” and dumb. If anyone is anti-feminist (the formal and overarching definition of what feminism means) then it puts them in opposition to gender equity. While a big part of the world has concluded that gender equity is a good thing for everyone.

Men who are anti-feminist would be labeled as male supremacists which are a hate group.

You will see this in the comments so far to this post. Nearly everyone here is misusing the term for feminism and bashes it which proves people don’t see the bigger pictures around men’s rights.

This sub really acts as a venting thing at this point about the bad stuff of being a man and how it’s unfair. Which just acts as a negativity echo chamber. Rather than being proactive to change and discuss the problems around men’s rights constructively.

Answer: This sub generally tries to victimize itself so often. Many posts highlight advances in women's rights and say "doesn't this also apply to men? Feminism is stupid!". Those posts then get upvoted as part of a hate brigade, bringing on hypotheticals about "why can't men receive X" or "what about us, what about them". It's not about self-progress at all, it's just moaning and complaining and it continues even when you point it out.

That is basic incel behavior. People who can't converse rationally and seek shelter in an echo chamber, that makes them worse off than what they were before.

When I first stumbled upon this subreddit, I was happy to see Men's rights are represented on this platform, but mainly posts are about bashing feminism which is tiring and frustrating. Feminism stands for EQUAL rights between men and women by addressing mainly issues from the female side, and the Men's rights movement should do the same but from the male side, not constantly belittle or shame feminism for some bigoted stuff some of them post. We should be allies, not enemies. Even though I am a man and think Men's rights are very important, much of the criticism this sub earns is very deserved.

I’ve had a quick scrape through some of the posts in r/menslib and there is actually a lot talking about major issues. The UK law where men cannot be considered as a victim of rape, unfair advantages in court based on gender. It’s not a bad sub, and while I agree with what this one is trying to achieve, it seems like it’s changing to something else.

You keep referring to feminism as a whole as if it’s something evil and everyone apart of that group is out to get you. Which is what upsets you guys when the same thing is said about MRA’s. I think people need to realise that feminism is not the route of all mens problems, sure, some are and even down to specific feminists. But like us, not all problems for feminists are routed to our one group. It’s specific people that take it too far. I’m not denying that there are women at there that call themselves feminists and are then openly misandrist, but I think if you put that person and another who was really striving for equality in the same room, there would be a clear difference between ideology’s.
