Marrying young is often discouraged as marriage is seen as an obstacle to a successful life, usually on the grounds of studying and getting a job, which is odd because probably finding someone special with you is more important than that.

  1. Growing up with another is a good thing. You can grow as a person and marrying can help you grow.
  2. You can find love before building trauma from monkeybranching failed relationships.
  3. You don't have to think so much about finding love or relationships in your 20s if you already find one and commit.
  4. Most people remember love in their 20s and teens as something very positive and they often miss an ex from that time.
  5. You are younger and stronger to have and raise children if you want to have them young.
  6. Even if all fails and you divorce, the consequences of divorce are lesser. Assets are probably less, you can still find someone as young as you, etc.
  7. You can help each other economically, no need to pay full rent if you have someone beside you helping.
  8. There is no reason to think a relationship can stop you from working or studying.

I understand in the past these relationships would be abusive, but usually because the woman had no options to study or work and the man was required to provide everything and take full responsibility of the family. Today, relationships are more egalitarian, people can even study and work from home, etc.

We are telling people to wait to marry later and later, and then they ask themselves why don't they have options anymore. They do get a job and college degree but find themselves lonely in their 30s trying to date after 8 hours of work. That is not very nice.
