Fights between women: Usually involve drama and end with blood drawn from nail scratching, biting, and hair pulled out.

Fights between men: Usually involve a show of strength and end with someone getting knocked out from a fist to the face.

Fights between a man and a woman:

If the woman wins: Man left physically injured and socially ruined. Woman is "empowered individual" regardless of who started the fight.

What really shows how ingrained the inequaility is in our society is how when the girl is bullying the boy most of the children are laughing, but as soon as he hits her there are screams. Equaility starts with teaching children right from wrong and that it's not ok to hit ANYONE, but to defend yourself if attacked.

First I agree he defended himself and she got what was deserved. I also read the comment on that site and saw something that bothered me. Most people agreed with me that she should of been hit and the boy did nothing wrong but quite a few said it because she was a "bull duke" or because of her size. They Outlook is still very gender originated on the fact that she was a suedomale and theirfore should be hit. By talking about how shes not a real girl they miss the point of a man or woman can and should defend themselves in situations like this. That's just my thoughts what do you guys and gals think?

I'm not big into violence as a solution to anything but if you're willing to be the aggressor and throw the first punch, I don't care what you have between your legs; I'm going to defend myself.

As I've learned through various jobs with a likelihood of having some sort of physical conflict, you use the minimal required force to diffuse the situation and then stop. It looks like that kid was just trying to get away and after he stopped her, he walked away. Purely defensive, good for him.

I gotta say, i enjoyed watching that and in a way, saying that makes me feel like a bad person. Because i shouldn't enjoy watching anybody get hit, but too often the guy just lets himself get beat up by the woman without doing a damn thing because of cultural beliefs about men hitting woman. Some men would get beaten half to death before doing anything about it. This situation shows it perfectly. He was obviously trying to get away, she was obviously bigger than him and fighting back was obviously a last resort. People were watching and nobody stepped in to help. They just wanted to see a guy get beat up by a girl. So he did what he had to.

What pisses me off is that in some situations, a guy just defending himself, people could see that and jump on the guy for hitting a girl. When all he was doing was defending himself. Most times people think too simplistically and instead of really examining the situation, they just see "guy hits girl, i gotta go kill HIM!"

Whoa think this thread went way off topic. Bottom line is if one person is being physically attacked by another, they have the right to defend themselves and put a stop to it, whether it's physical or not. What DOESN'T matter in the situation is:

-gender (of the attacker or victim) -physical prowess or capability of either person -what the reasoning of the physical violence is from attacker -or the INTENT of the violence perpetrated by the attacker is.

We don't know the story but if a woman was striking me like that (yes, i might be less inclined to strike back bc she may be physically weaker....but that's not unlike if a small nerdy IT guy started did same. But in either of these hypotheticals i'd be more hesitant to hit back bc i knowchances are I'm not in serious life threatening danger)

So if anyone, or a woman hit me like that non stop...after a bit I'd feel very justified laying them out.

As a teen, a girl at our local pool (no lifeguards) got pissed at one of my buddies, grabbed the long pole that you pull floaters out with, hopped into the pool, & started hitting my buddy & several of my friends. I tried grabbing the pole from her several times, but couldn't w/out getting brained. I ended it by bloodying her nose. Nobody said shit either because she was being so violent.

Im all for equality and I see the injustices that occur by both women and men, but the comments here appear quite unfortunate. Unless you people know the background to this fight, youre simply happy that a female child was hurt by a male child. That doesnt make you a mens rights advocate, it makes you a bit of an asshole.

I shouldnt have to point out that mens rights are certainly not about seeing females get hurt for the fact that they are women. Its about growing up and trying to achieve peace between the sexes.

Back to the video. I have no idea what started the fight. Maybe she randomly slapped him in an effort to display dominance to her peers or maybe he randomly shoved her against the wall in an effort to to display dominance to his peers. Two out of a possible million scenarios, right? Maybe she deserved it and maybe she didnt. Do you know the context here? Without it, the only thing one should wonder is why arent we bringing up our children to better handle these situations.

Edit: Most downvoted comment of the thread, a new 'milestone'. Anyway, most of the time, I agree with the points of view on /r/mensrights, but I simply cant agree with you guys this time. This isnt about gender, this is two children fighting and one of them getting knocked out. It is not an accomplishment.
