My initial reaction is that every part of this exchange should discourage anyone from dating 20-year olds, even other 20-year olds.

Plus, this is definitely staged. No feelings were hurt in the making of this fiction.

But assuming it's real, then it was imprudent of her to make that wager publicly, since it forces him into a public response which may or many not reflect his private feelings. As a clout-chaser, he's professionally obligated to respond in a way that chases clout. And it was insensitive to him to chase clout at the expense of her feelings. No need to lay it on so thick. But then, she missed an easy opportunity to diffuse the tension by just bantering back.

So, pretty poor social skills on everyone's part. But also pretty normal for young idiots on a date in front of a camera.

I completely agree that this interaction was needlessly cruel, I'm just amazed at the acceptable level of misandry in society that we can even consider the man was in the wrong. So, she's in the wrong for getting upset she got rejected no different from most men. Now if the guy said "I don't wanna hit because you're ugly blah blah" then it might be different. I think your reaction to this OP is because you've felt empathy for rejection for maybe the first time ever because it was a woman being rejected like men are every day.
