I think who women and men here hold as “HVM” are two different men. Men are more focused on the casual aspect while women on the long-term one. I also don’t like using the phrases like HVM/LVM. I think my partner is a great husband, so…

He’s good at communication. He’s better at it than I am and he’s very open about his worries and feelings with me which I appreciate and value. He’s attentive and caring.
We have similar values and morals. He’s egalitarian. He’s pro-choice, believes in human rights, tolerant to people different to him. He’s a family man and prioritizes our family above other things. He acts consistently with his morals.
He’s an attentive and passionate lover, he puts my pleasure above his and we share similar kinks. We have compatible views on sexuality and monogamy.
He has plans on the future he works on.
He’s reliable in peaceful time and in time of high stress. I know he’s gonna be there for me and we’ll work together.

I guess the definition of HVM and LVM is very different on this place and especially what women consider high value and what men consider high value.

My bf is high value in my eyes. He is caring, supportive, forgiving, we are sexually very compatible, a great communicator, is always trying to meet my needs, funny, smart and curious. He's also very competitive which I enjoy watching him play games and sport and get very passionate about the things he does.

But according to PPD male standards he's probably not HVM. He's 5'9-5'10 depending on the day (he has a birth defect in his back which makes him taller on some days)(for reference I am 5'9), he only last year started working in a normal job because he took care of his dying mother most of his life - so he is earning below average, he doesn't have any school degree, he is overweight but has very muscular legs from a lot of running sports he does, he is an average looking dude but I absolutely adore his eyes and he is so handsome and beautiful to me because I love him so much.

So it all depends how you view high value. 666 Chad isn't high value to me.

How would I know if my man is “HVM” or not? I mean, he’s a great husband for me, but it’s mainly about being compatible with me, and according to most male posters here I’m a super anomalous unicorn.

Overall, a HVM adds to my life, not take away. An overall good person.

Happily married here. Here is how my husband enrich my life:

We've been together about a decade now? Married About halfway or so through that

We have quite similar hobbies and interest. We're both gamers, we play dungeons and dragons together, we're both into various Anime and fantasy serieses. We both enjoy the outdoors and many of our holidays have been hiking and cycling and camping. He does casual rugby, I'm more into tennis.

Welp, he adds a lot to my life. That's pretty much how to put it! He's a really cool and attractive person, but that's not something you can fully grasp through the internet nor is it really enough for me to want him in my home every single day forever. He has a good job: this doesn’t have to necessarily be good as in high paying, but it’s a job that he can enjoy, makes him feel fulfilled and enables him to live the life he wants. In my guys case he is in a career field that he’s passionate about, while the work is hard a lot of the times, he can still have a nice work life balance.

He can communicate: this goes beyond telling me what he wants. He can communicate with me when he’s feeling unsteady or uncomfortable and not have it seem like an argument. We can talk about things good or bad, and work through them.

He is competent: I once asked him to pick up something I needed for dinner, he didn’t have to send me 100 questions to get the right thing. He knew what it was because he regularly does his own shopping. The same day he came into my apartment and offered to fix a table leg that was wobbly…kinda small but it really made an impact on me.

He’s generous: not because he feels like it’s his duty to be generous, but because he enjoys being generous.

He’s disciplined: he has some very healthy habits. And sticks to them daily. This one can sometimes be a negative because when I want to sleep in, he wants to go for a run. But it works because I’m trying to get more healthy and he inspires me to be better.

He has good values: I mean in that they mirror mine. We have a similar moral code.

He’s masculine: not in a macho sort of way. He’s not overly muscular, but he can carry himself in a way that just seems strong, sure and safe. It may not be all the time, but when we are out he does seem to embody these traits more.

He’s kind: this is the most important one. He’s a good man, who cares about the people in his life regardless of what they are giving him. He tries to make sure everyone around him is happy and included, and hates when someone puts another person down.

We haven’t done anything too physical yet, but he does seem eager to make sure I have a good time. And he’s a bit more assertive when in his sexual headspace than he is outside, and I think that’s really hot. From the ppd standards, okay…well he is 5’11, so under six-foot, technically. But he’s conventionally attractive, highly educated, and dresses well, he might be chad? But he’s also a former fat-kid so he doesn’t act like chad.

This probably isn't going to fit with a Redpill idea of what a HVM is, but he's a HVM to me and this is why:

-He's considerate. He's big on being polite, treating people kindly, giving people the benefit of the doubt, and considering the needs of those around him. With me, he often checks in if I need anything ("can I grab you some juice while I'm in the kitchen?" or "I'm at the grocery store and your favorite candy is on sale. Do you want me to get some?")

-He's generous. He's always offering people something he thinks they might enjoy or make use of.

-He has and maintains healthy boundaries. While he is considerate, kind, and generous to others, he also doesn't just let anyone walk all over him (including me).

-He has interests and hobbies of his own, but he also supports and takes interest in mine. Likewise, I let him be the expert and talk/show all he wants about his passions.

-We've grown together as people, discussing our ideas about current events and politics. We've found music, films, games, and outdoor activities that we both enjoy together.

-He's intelligent and logical. While he's not a major comedian or anything, he's witty and has a sense of humor.

-He has a great family and was raised well. Unlike what I hear from a lot of people, I actually really love my in-laws.

-He keeps a cool head in difficult situations. I feel pretty confident in his capabilities and judgement when we're in a jam.

-He is skilled in things that I know less about, particularly in anything involving vehicles, carpentry, electricity, plumbing, etc.

-He's handsome. 6 ft, normal weight, long torso, great posture, dresses well (neither fancy nor slobbish), has great hygiene, has a beard that he maintains, glasses that look good on him, good hair.

-Best sex I've ever had, and even after seven years it's still going strong.

-Works hard, has been moving up steadily in his field (geology). Making sure we have enough money to cover our bills and live a comfortable life is a priority for him.

-Doesn't have a ton of emotional baggage or an extreme n-count (I think it's 9 or so). Was a "late bloomer" like I was, so we can relate to each other a lot about having been awkward/nerdy in our teens and early 20's.

What women care about:

he’s a good communicator. Sometimes the words come out wrong and I feel hurt, but he always tries to elaborate and say what he means. He always tries to communicate, he doesn’t hide or avoid tough conversations.
he notices and sees me. I grew up with a family who never cared how I really felt. The first time I had a “meh” or “concerned” expression on my face around him, he noticed as soon as he looked at me and asked what was wrong. I thought he was a mind reader 😂. He's highly intelligent. Went to the arguably smartest high school class in my country, won a gold medal in our country's maths competition. Currently in college, successfully studying electrical engineering.

The extra stuff: Smart as hell, knows a lot of shit. Engaged in appealing, masculine hobbies like physical fitness (gym, biking), and music (great guitar player, singer, songwriter). Just generally has his shit together - can be relied on to do what needs to be done. Someone whose opinion and follow-through I really trust and value.

But none of this holds a candle to what matters the most - he is my best friend, and makes me laugh, is fun to chill with and talk to, and gives me the tingles even after we have been together for 15 years.
