Look, this sub tickles a lot of sensitive topics. I think the mods do a pretty good job of forcing us all to at least adhere to the very basics of debate decorum.

We need to be able to speak plainly and objectively. Rape and the fear of rape are a very real part of what affects women’s decisions in dating. Men who don’t want to hear about this fact want to be sheltered from reality.

Whenever I'm talking about apples or t-shirts or my favorite brand of bourbon and some BP woman decides to inject rape and sexual assault into the discussion I just block her. And I will continue to block people who inject rape and sexual assault into discussions that have nothing to do with rape and sexual assault even if the mods tell me not to abuse the block function.

People get accused of being rapists, rape apologists, pedos and groomers every other paragraph on this goddamn sub.

It’s relevant in a lot of the conversations had here, obviously some people bring it up as a ‘gotcha’ but sexual assault/fear of does have an impact on male/female relationships.

It's hyperbolic, really. But at the same time, it's hard to argue against; a lot of women here may have some kind of trauma stemming from past negative experiences with men.

The other day I got a reply from a women who said women are at "risk of being abused/killed everytime that they go out on a date". Which I can see the logic behind, but that's a emotional response that comes from her past experiences, if you're constantly worrying about that, there's some unresolved issue that you have to deal before going into a relationship, similar to men constantly worrying about being "falsely accused"

But at the same time you have to be extremely cautious when talking about that issue. When I have that type of response I usually just stop replying or apologize.

Two things can both be true.

Women have reason to be more afraid of men in an immediate, "some shit could go wrong that I'm not equipped to handle" kind of way, than vice versa. By a long shot.
In contexts like this sub, some women stretch the relevance of #1 to try and make points in discussions.

2 is in no way equivalent to 1, but in an environment like this it can be pretty annoying. Bears, basically.

Women assume the worst-case situation of men. Even though she interacts with more men each day than men do with women. But men arent allowed to assume the worst of women when there is a HIGHER chance of something bad happening to him just based on her words. If men had the same attention from women that women had from men, the percentages of bad things would be higher for men.

A clear example of this is physical abuse. Lets say ALL forms of hitting someone are abuse. Joking, pushing, hitting in reaction. Have you ever noticed as a man how many times women have hit you in this way? Even if it didnt "Hurt". But most of you dudes prob NEVER hit a woman in your life. Most men have actually been hit by many many women. If men were to act in this same regard, there would be an outcry. But society ignores this and allows / promotes / jokes about it.

Its the stupid Bear debate.

Women see 100-1000s of men every day and nothing bad happens to her or ever happened to her. Yet she thinks a Bear is safer? If a woman was seen in the woods by 100 bears she would 100% be dead day one.

I think it's fair because the answer to half of these "why are women so ______" posts is because of a fear of men stemming from either an assault or a close call.

Because more often than not it is relevant because it provides perspective and context to the argument. For example, men on this sub love to argue that women have all the power in relationships/casual sex because men sexually desire women more than vice versa. Women have all the power and all the fun in relationships only if you ignore the obvious downside to the desire gap; SA victimisation. Which is a massive negative men love to ignore.

Also Men on this sub love to bring up things like False accusations, divorce rape, paternity fraud etc etc, all things that are very rare in an effort to suggest female privilege, but conveniently ignore SA and rape.
