What do you mean by arranged your marriage? Just turning up to the wedding and getting married without having met the other partner? These days, in some cultures, it just means that Family A asks Family B if they have someone that would make a good match for their kid and if they say yes they set them up on a date. If things go well they can continue dating for a while before deciding if they want to get married or not. I personally wouldn't do it but I can see the benefits of it if you really want to get married.

Am i going to be considered "manipulative" and "wasting her time" if i say yes and then decide i dont like her or want to marry after 6 months - a year?

Not single, but what you're describing is very similar to how things are done in Uzbekistan.

When youngsters (both men and women) reach 25-27 and are still single, the wisest in their families step in and try their hardest to find them a match. They have testing periods ranging from 3 months (the most conservative) to 6 months.

The system works for a subset of the Uzbek population. Ironically, that subset is formed by the poorest and the richest. It's the middle class that rejects it.

Would I try it if single again? Not if my parents were to be involved in selection, lol. Yes if old(er) men and women I trust were involved.

If the woman was fully on board and doing so of her own free will, I'd consider it. However, there is not a single person in my life that I trust to pick a good partner for me. I'd probably go to professional matchmaker, if those still exist.

I have no issues finding partners. But I wouldnt refuse a possible arranged marriage if the arrangement was actually good and the person in question of good moral character/quality.

I trust my father would show me only a woman worth marrying if it came to it. He would always try to help whenever possible.

Saying that, It is almost impossible to convince a man raised in the 40s that any modern woman is worth marrying but if any modern woman could convince that old man she was worth marring? I would marry her, no problems. (He really tried lookign for one, never found any tho)

No, most arranged marriages come from a shared commitment to a specific culture. Pressure and accountability from your in group community gives these relationships power. I don’t have any allegiance to any beliefs that would make me or my partner accountable to an arranged marriage.
